8 Chapter 7

"Is this a joke to you?" Melanie said with extreme anger in her voice.

Her sister is still in the hands of the weirdo who is currently blushing as red as a tomato. The situation outside is dire, especially when the target of their protection is being beaten to a pulp by some teenager.

The situation is clearly not on Melanie's side and her anger is reaching its limits. She needs to deal with the weirdo first and the teenager next to solve her problem. The weirdo seems easier to handle since they seemed to be enamored with her and Miltia.

"Of course not! I'm really serious about proposing to you two!" Sage answered with a pampered tone.

'Now!' Melanie thought inwardly.

Shifting her heels slightly, Melanie then disappears from her spot and emerges from behind Sage. She throws a swift and elegant kick right at Sage's head, her heel blades seeming even more pronounced when there is no ambient light.

'Ping!'

A deafening sound rings across the club but it is not the sound that Melanie was expecting to hear. Not the sound of flesh tearing apart, but the sound of metal breaking into pieces. She looks at her shoes and she sees the broken heels.

In a split second, Sage's hand then grabs her hanging leg and pulls it down. Melanie's body was dragged to the ground and she fell flat on her beautiful face. Sage then pulls Melanie straight to her body and embraces Melanie with her other arm.

"Argh!" Melanie screamed.

Melanie tried to remove herself from Sage's embrace but both of her hands are now firmly locked to her sides. Sage's reaction time is even better than Melanie had expected, which was a surprise to her.

'She's strong and fast! I didn't even see her move her hands! How did she even break my heels?!' Melanie thought inwardly.

"Let me go, you perverted bastard!" Melanie screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Hey! I'm not a bastard! I have a beautiful mother, for your information!" Sage retorts.

'Crash!'

'Boom!'

The sound of a massive explosion suddenly interrupts their fight. Sage can instantly guess that the fight between Junior and Yang has finally reached its climax. Sage realizes that she doesn't have much time left.

'I need to go now if I want to interact with Yang and Ruby!' Sage thought inwardly.

Seeing both Melanie and Miltia struggling in her hands, Sage can't help but appreciate their cute expression of anger. She would be all over them if she didn't have to introduce herself to Ruby and Yang.

"Now, I don't really want to do this but I need to go and see Yang, so both of you will stay here. Okay?" Sage asked Melanie and Miltia.

"Yeah right!" Melanie said angrily.

"What makes you think we will listen to you?" Miltia asked Sage sarcastically.

"I'm not ordering you girls, I'm merely asking for your favor." Sage said slowly.

"And what makes you think we will give you our favor?" Miltia answered while Melanie was fuming with even more rage than before.

"Fine! But you leave me no choice." Sage said ominously.

Hearing Sage's tone of voice, both Melanie and Miltia turned to look at her. Sage has a wistful expression on her face but before they can say anything about her look, both of them pass out, without even sparring Sage a single glare.

"I'll be right back." Sage said slowly.

Sage then turns towards her back and she instantly sees 3 Grimm Lancer, hovering right behind her. They are not bigger than the size of a regular bee but they can instill fear upon everybody who looks at them.

'The tranquilizers rubbed on their stingers worked. I can use this for my future plans.' Sage thought inwardly as she looked at her 3 new pets.

"Take care of them. If anybody here shows some weird signs, call Phoebe and her flock. I want them dead. Do you understand?" Sage asked the 3 flying Grimm.

The 3 flying Grimm then bow their heads to Sage and after receiving confirmation from them, Sage rushed out to the entrance to the club. She has been waiting 2 years for this particular event and it is finally happening.

'I didn't even get to join Cinder on her trips to recruit Mercury, Emerald and Adam. She's also cutting me out from the operation with Torchwick. This is finally my time to shine!' Sage thought inwardly.

When she reaches the entrance of the club she finally sees the two figures that she has been meaning to meet ever since the first day of her birth. The petite black-haired maiden Ruby and her elder sister, Yang.

"Finally!" Sage said giddily.

<At the same time>

"Yang? Is that you?" Ruby asked.

"Oh! Hey, Sis!" Yang answered.

"What are you doing here?" Ruby asked again.

"Huh, it's a long story…" Yang said with a heavy sigh.

"Is it?" a voice suddenly asked them.

Both Yang and Ruby turned towards the direction of the voice. They see a cloaked figure, standing right beside the unconscious Junior. They can't help but shudder when they finally see the mask on the cloaked figure's face.

"And who are you?" Yang asked.

"My name is Sage. I'm a friend of Junior. You really did a number on him…" Sage asked after she kicked Junior lightly.

'They sound like a girl. She's Junior's friend? Is she like those two other girls? Did she know something?' Yang thought inwardly.

"Can I ask you a question?" Yang suddenly asked.

"She's not here, Yang." Sage answered quickly.

Yang quickly turned serious when she heard Sage's answer. She looked at Sage closely and she can't seem to find any sincerity or lie in Sage's voice. Yang immediately starts getting anxious and she can't help but ask more questions.

"You know where she is? Do you know her? What is she doing now? Do you…" Yang tried to ask Sage more questions but Sage cut her off.

"I also know your name, Yang, isn't that weird?" Sage asked.

"..." Yang suddenly stopped to think.

"She's right!" Ruby suddenly said out loud after being silent for a while.

"Ruby!" Sage said giddily.

She then runs towards Ruby and before both of the sisters can react, Sage appears right in front of Ruby. Sage then pulls Ruby into her embrace and Yang can't help but find the situation peculiar, especially when the stranger is hugging her sister to death.

"What are you doing?" Yang asked with shock in her voice.

"I'm hugging your adorable sister? Isn't that obvious?" Sage said as she looked towards Yang.

The stranger that Yang had just met a few minutes ago is now acting like she is familiar with both Ruby and Yang. Not to mention, both their attire and demeanor spells bad news for Yang and her instincts are telling her not to let her guard down.

"You're suffocating her!" Yang then pointed at Ruby, who is currently being pushed towards Sage flat chest.

Ruby is shorter than Sage and currently, her head is being smothered by Sage's chest. Ruby is also flailing uncontrollably, trying to free herself from the hug but she can't seem to push Sage off with her strength.

"Oh…" Sage then let Ruby go from her embrace.

Ruby quickly distanced herself from Sage while panting heavily. Her face was flushed and her hair was disheveled beyond repair. Sage can't help but find Ruby even cuter than before she was hugged into a heaving mess.

"Hah! Chest! Flat! Hard!" Ruby said, trying to catch her breath after Sage's suffocating hug.

"Hey! I'm not flat!" Sage said, trying to defend herself.

"..." Both Ruby and Yang turned to look towards Sage with a skeptic look on their face.

"I'm not that flat…" Sage said under her breath.

"Yeah, well…" Yang said when she abruptly pulled Ruby behind to hide behind her.

"Why did you hug Ruby and how do you know our names?" Yang asked Sage.

The atmosphere turned silent as Sage's didn't answer Yang's questions. She stopped to think as she slowly tapped her mask, as if she was emoting the thinking expression. The anger inside Yang slowly starts to boil.

"I'm very sorry, Yang, but I can't tell you that. Crimes and everything…" Sage explains nonchalantly to both Ruby and Yang after thinking for a while.

"What do you mean?" Yang said angrily as she loads a new set of rounds for her gauntlets.

'Shit! Yang is getting ready for a fight!' Sage thought inwardly.

"Hold your horses, Yang. You don't want to be expelled right before your entrance ceremony, right?" Sage said quickly.

Yang suddenly stopped in her tracks. Yang can practically 'hear' the cloaked figure's smile from behind her mask. What's even stranger is the fact that Sage is aware of her enrollment to Beacon Academy.

"Who are you, really?" Yang asked with even more anger in her voice.

"You don't really need to know who I am. All you need to know is the fact that I am on your side." Sage said slowly as she raised her hands in surrender.

"No way!" Yang retorts angrily.

She then dropped into her fighting stance, readying herself for a fight. Sage, who can't seem to deescalate the situation, starts to worry about the incoming fight. The situation is tense but a voice suddenly breaks the situation down.

"Yang, I think we can believe her…" Ruby suddenly said from behind Yang's back.

Yang turns towards Ruby and she sees Ruby's sparkling eyes. Ruby was clearly curious about the stranger and since the stranger didn't seem hostile to them, Ruby is dropping her guard. Yang can't help but sigh at her sister's naivety.

"Ruby, she knows about us and my enrollment to Beacon. It's creepy!" Yang said slowly.

"But she didn't do anything to us and she even hugged me? Her hug is dangerous but if she wanted to hurt us, she would've done it earlier." Ruby said, trying to reason with Yang.

Yang then stopped to think for a moment. She then turned towards the cloaked figure and she did find some truth in Ruby's words. The cloaked figure still hasn't done anything to them despite having a lot of chances to do so.

"And not to mention, if she reported us, both of us will get into a lot of trouble and we will be grounded by Dad!" Ruby said with a glint of fear in her eyes.

"I guess you are right…" Yang said slowly, with clear distrust in her voice.

Yang puts her hands down but Sage can still see some vigilance in her eyes. Sage also slowly lowered her arms. Seeing the tense situation being resolved, the curious Ruby can't help but look at the figure with her shiny eyes.

"Are we good now?" Sage asked.

"No, but we can't actually call the cops. Junior is a legal business owner and you are his associates. I'm the one who is in the wrong here…" Yang said solemnly.

"Indeed, Yang. Indeed!" Sage said giddily.

"Ugh…" a man groaned lightly.

The girls turned their head to the voice and they saw Junior, stirring from his slumber. Sage's time with the two sisters seems to be quite brief. She now needs to persuade Junior into releasing both Melanie and Miltia from their service.

'Yang and Ruby can't be here for that…' Sage thought inwardly.

"Yang and Ruby, I will meet both of you soon, in a different place. Yang, you can ask your questions later, but for now, you need to leave." Sage said solemnly.

"What if I don't want to leave?" Yang asked.

Yang has been searching for the whereabouts of her mother for a long time and when she had finally found a clue, she was told to wait for her answers. It angers her to her core and she can't help but look at Sage with disdain.

"Then I will have to call the cops and say that a new Huntress-in-training is beating up civilians." Sage threatens Yang again.

"Ugh!" Yang said with an annoyed tone.

Yang glared at Sage and after a while, she finally let out a big sigh. Sage certainly didn't intend to let her know the answers to her question and Yang can't seem to force the truth out of her. Yang grunts angrily before grabbing Ruby's hands.

"I will see you later!" Sage said loudly towards Yang's and Ruby's departing figure.

"No way!" Yang said angrily.

"You too, Ruby!" Sage said loudly as she waves towards Ruby.

Ruby waves back at her happily, and Sage can't help but find Ruby utterly cute, even in real life. After watching the two sisters leave on Yang's motorcycle, Sage then turned toward Junior who is slowly regaining his consciousness.

"Let's get this started!" Sage said giddily.
