1 The Grief Of A Alpha

Hi this is the first time ever I'm writing a story so please let me know if there is anything I could approve on, I hope you enjoy it.

-Emma's POV-

I woke up to panic everywhere in the house, every person was screaming and running around, I went to open my bedroom door but it was burning to the touch. I thought I was about to die considering I lived on the third floor and I am tiny and very fragile, so I couldn't jump out without possibly hurting myself even more. My dad bursts into the room and immediately scoops me up and runs outside with me in his arms. Then it hits me when we were outside my little brother, (He was supposed to become alpha when he gets older) my father looked down and was holding back tears. I walked up and asked him "Who is going to be the alpha now when the time comes?" he turned and looked at me and said "You are Munchkin". My jaw dropped to the ground I was only 9 I didn't know how to process all that was going on around me, first my brother didn't make it, and now I am going to have to become a alpha... Is he insane?!?!?

To give you more detail I am usually called a gremlin, because I'm shorter than most class mates and can't do simple exercises like push ups. How am I supposed to become a alpha when I'm Older I don't understand.

-Emma's 18th Birthday-

-Emma's POV-

I woke up with the same night mare I thought would go away closer I got to being able to transform and find my mate, but I was far from right. Every night since that event when I was younger I have had reoccurring dreams of what if my dad went to get my brother first or if he saved the both of us. Sometimes I see him running around in my dreams still and wanting to hang out and play, but shortly interrupted by my alarm every time. Not soon after waking up my mother walks in singing happy birthday to me and has a candle on a muffin for me (I'm not a huge fan of cake.) "Thanks mom." I told her. She kisses me on the head and tells me "hurry up or you'll be late to school again." I take a bite out of the muffin and get my outfit ready for the day, I wonder who my mate will be? I glance at the mirror I have long light blonde hair and green eyes, I decided to curl my hair for the first time ever with the help of my mom, I grabbed my boots and headed downstairs to leave when I heard a loud knock on the door. My mother comes rushing from the second floor, her face looked worried and I asked "Mom what's wrong?" and she gave me the look. Instantly I knew my dad was at the door, so I grabbed my boots and headed to the back door, I was clearly not int the mood to talk to him right now but we will discuss that later.

I get to school and the first thing I could smell was the sweet scent of Pine and a Chocolate mix, I knew right then and there that was my mates scent. I ran through the halls just to turn and run into the bathroom, I almost had a heart attack. My body started filling up with anger from my wolf, letting me know she was present. My mate Jake was the one and only high school bully on top of being the quarter back of our football team, and his girlfriend Amber was the reason why he stopped being my friend and bullying me. She had Red silky hair that wasn't damaged like mine and her eyes were a darker shade of red. I recomposed myself and walked out and right by them and when I turned around he was starring at me and had a regretful and sorry look on his face, I wanted to run up to him and tell him I have loved him for six years now, but I couldn't unless I wanted to be humiliated in front of the entire school.

-Jake's POV-

I watched as she walked past me all I could smell was roses and morning dew drops I knew she was the one at that moment I felt guilty I was holding another women who wasn't mine in my arms and my mate was walking away from me, when she turned around I had a glimpse of hope that she would run into my arms but instead she turned away and headed to her class. I immediately let Amber go and rushed after her but I lost her already in the crowd, why is she so short? I felt a angry tap on my back and turned around to see Amber scowling at me asking me why I ran away from her. I told her we would talk about it later, she didn't like that answer but said ok and marched off. I didn't want to tell her yet because she isn't my mate and I found mine finally after a year of waiting and thinking I would never get one.

-Emma's POV-

It was the final bell of the day meaning I could finally go home and throw me and my mom a party for me today. As I was walking outside I see Amber crying and Jake trying to get her to stop, I guess me bumping into a trash can wasn't the smartest idea because both of them looked at me. Amber looked back at Jake a second after but he was just starring at me, Amber put two and two together and started walking up to me screaming how this is all my fault that she is loosing the love of her life and that I am a man stealer, even though he is my mate and not hers. within a blink of a eye Jake is standing in front of me protecting me from her for the first time. I could feel my cheeks burning and after Amber storming off, he turned around and told me "I'm so sorry for how I treated you if I knew you we-" I held my hand up and cut him off and said "If you knew? You are going to have to make up for everything unless you want me to reject you!" with that I walk back home upset and angry.
