Chapter 7

The match started with the two charging at each other when all of a sudden, Monga abruptly stopped and readied his fist waiting for the upcoming Hattori.

Unfortunately, his opponent was already getting used to his unorthodox way of fighting, Hattori was indeed surprised but just shrugged it off and ducked to dodge Monga's fist.

Compared to Hattori's relatively normal figure for a 10-year-old, Monga possessed a heavy build, making him look like an adult if not for his childish face. He has a shaved head and wears a brown flak jacket with a zipper at the front. His lower body is covered by baggy, dark red pants with a loose fit partnered with brown shinobi sandals.

People may often mistake him as a brute with no brain because of his appearance but he is the most shrewd among the group.

The two continued their fight in close combat, both finding it hard to deal a direct blow to the other. 

Although he possesses strength equal to Asahi, Monga lacked their leader's speed and if not for his strange weird tempo and unorthodox fighting style, Hattori might have claimed victory.

But Monga still has a hard time keeping up with sharp attacks from Hattori with his Bukijutsu and Taijutsu as the former received some cuts and bruises from his big bro and in the end, lost. (A/:Bukijutsu is a ninja art focused on using different weapons in combat, including projectiles, bladed weapons, blunt weapons, and more.) 

With the match settled, the match for finals will be between Osamu and Hattori.

To be fair, they give time for the two to recuperate and rest, it might not be enough to recover back to their peak state but enough to let them recover some strength and chakra.

The two rest for half an hour before they start their match.

"Don't hold back," Hattori stated to which Osamu nodded and replied;

"I won't."

After saying those words, Osamu immediately does hand signals, creating water shurikens, and throws them to the opponent in front of him which was easily blocked by Hattori using his scythe.

He already expected such a result as within the water shuriken is a real shuriken to which he then uses substitution jutsu, closing the distance between the two.

Engaging in a close combat fight is a very unpractical move given that Osamu's strength stems from his use of ninjutsu.

But because Hattori least expects such a result is what makes this a practical tactic!

As he expected, Hattori was caught off guard giving Osamu the time to hold his scythe and send a punch to Hattori's stomach.

Osamu wouldn't let go of this chance as he wanted to continue attacking Hattori unfortunately, the latter swiftly adjusted and was able to block his attacks.

Even though he chose to use a weapon, Hattori didn't neglect his taijutsu as he engaged in hand-to-hand combat against Osamu.

If Osamu is fast, swift, and deadly, Hattori on the other hand is stable, balanced, and calm. A big irony given the two's nature element.

 But in the end, the two managed to create a fighting style that worked for them.

After adapting to Osamu's surprise attack, Hattori slowly overpowers the former in taiutsu causing him to retreat.

Of course, Hattori won't allow that as he does some hand signals and casts a ninjutsu.

"Wind Release: Wind Cutter!" 

By slashing his scythe, Hattori created a blade made out of wind which Osamu countered with also a ninjutsu.

"Water Release: Water Shuriken!" 

In the end, the water shuriken is not able to block Hattori's jutsu primarily because of the difference in jutsu level between the two.

But it gives enough time for Osamu to dodge and cast another jutsu simultaneously.

"Water Release: Mouth Shot!" 

Osamu spits out needle-shaped droplets of water which travel at a fast velocity as Hattori doesn't have enough time to reach as he was hit in the right shoulder.

This sneak attack is the key defining moment of the match which greatly weakened Hattori and even though he persevered and continued fighting, he was soon defeated.

"Nice match" Osamu commented as he fist bumps with the injured Hattori.

"Congrats dude, that jutsu was timed perfectly, I didn't know you learned another jutsu, anyway teach that prick a lesson!" Hattori ranted with an exaggerated voice as Osamu gave a wry smile.

After all, every time Hattori lost to him, he would always say the same thing, 'to teach Asahi a lesson' which is something they all know is near impossible, and "I'll try my best" is always his response.

In their match, Osamu didn't come out unscathed as he received some bruises and small cuts from Hottari.

He took a rest for about an hour before deciding to fight Asahi who was patiently waiting for him to get ready.

"Go Osamu!"

"You can do it"

"Sweep his ass on the ground!"

The other children cheered for Osamu even though they knew his chance of winning was nonexistent.

Not only was Asahi stronger than him but he was also tired after fighting against the other kids meanwhile Asahi watched from the sideline.

At the start of the match, Osamu immediately used his ninjutsu technique

Water Release: Mouth Shot!

Unfortunately, Asahi was prepared as he dodged just by titling his head as he weaved a jutsu.

"Fire Release: Great fireball technique!" Asahi spits out a flame that turns into a ball as it heads toward Osamu.

"Damn he doesn't even plan on holding back" Osamu complained as he dodged the upcoming attack. Because they are currently fighting on top of a cliff where there is no water source, Osamu lacks the firepower to block Asahi's fireball. 

He was able to successfully dodge the fireball but Asahi doesn't care as it was merely a distraction to get closer to him.

Of course, Osamu won't engage in hand-to-hand combat which Asahi excels at as he maintains a distance and prevents the latter from getting closer using his speed and ninjutsu.

Unfortunately, Asahi had seen such tactics countless times from all the 'Osamu' he had beaten throughout the years.

The tired Osamu simply stood no chance against the person who had beaten many versions of him countless times in the virtual world.
