1 0: The Beginning of the tragedy.

Californian winter was severe this year, making a white curtain of snow cover everything. The winter was worse this time, with its icy storms and freezing rain. Which did not leave the animals of the forest anything to survive.

In this forest that has become uninhabited because wild animals hide from the cold, a brown wolf was walking around alone. If any human saw him, he would faint from fear Because its size was not the size of an ordinary wolf

The wolf wasn't messing around or looking for food and seemed to be walking on a specific path. the wolf walked for quite a while until it stopped under an unseen big tree that seemed different from the others.

When he got close enough, an emerald green light appeared from the necklace he was wearing around his neck.

the wolf kept walking towards the tree until crossed it and walked through it and waves appeared like those on the surface of the water on the tree. The forest on the other side was large and full of huge green trees.

There was a stone house from which climbing plants hung, and there were many flowers and thorny vines, and the trees were full of fruits with different shapes and colours that no one knew what kind exactly.

But he knew better than to eat any of them, no matter how tempting it seemed to be and simply obeyed the owner of the place.

The wolf could hear the birdsong and also the sounds of insects, and fish swimming in the nearby lake. This place was full of life, unlike the other desolate side, as if time had stopped on spring and had become eternal.

Before the wolf reached the stone house, someone jumped on his back, and when he wanted to avoid it, the person Waved his hand and the branches moved and pinned him in place. When he couldn't move for a few tries he gave up.

An amused laugh escaped from the women's lips.

"Why do you always fall for the same trick Roland, I missed you so much I can't believe it's been seven years..."

She lay on Roland's back, closed her eyes, and started stroking the wolf's fur, as if remembering the feeling of its softness under her hand, her voice became seductive this time.

"Roland changes for me, I feel like it's been centuries since we've been together. Kiss me like you used to~.."

Roland obeyed her words and transformed into his human form and become an adult man in his thirties with short blonde hair, he had stubble and at this moment he was naked under a beautiful woman.

Forrest swept her lower part on Roland's back.

"Don't you want to do it?..." She lowered her head to his ear, then continued:

"Don't you feel it ?.... I'm not wearing anything underneath...."

Roland immediately stood up and dropped Forrest off his back.

"Stop playing Forrest, there's something we need to talk about."

Roland's voice was cold but Forrest thought he was just teasing her.

Forrest wiped her ass on which she had fallen, and admonished:

"Ah~, couldn't you have been nicer, you could have carried me on your back or at least told me and I would have clung to you.."

Forrest tilted her head slightly when Roland didn't face her and still gave his back to her. She sensed that something was wrong and couldn't stop herself from asking:

"Roland, what's wrong?..."

Roland did not answer her and continued to go towards the stone house. Forrest blinked a few times and her heart sank. An ominous feeling told her that there was a big problem. She shook her head trying to convince herself that she was delusional and hurried towards the house.

When she entered, she saw Roland wearing the old pants that he had left here before, which became a few inches shorter than him now, he sat down on the small table and crossed his arms to his chest and said in a cold voice:

"There is something I must..."

Forrest interrupted him quickly:

"Are you angry because it took me seven years to return? But I told you before I left and told you that at least ten years may pass. Seven years is already an achievement and you agreed to wait for me, so why are you angry....??!!!"

The branches of the nearby trees shook, affected by the girl's mood, and a witch's temper began to appear on Forrest. Wolves or vampires do not like mating with witches at all, because they have a hot temper that they cannot control, and thus they lose control of their powers, which causes harm to those around them.

But Forrest is different.

which is why he loved her. But not anymore. Roland sighed and nodded.

"It's not about that..."

Relief appeared on Forrest's face immediately, making Roland feel guilty.

Forrest smiled. "Well, then sit down while I get the tea, my gods, I got scared, my heart fell into my stomach for a moment..."

And she disappeared from the place.

Roland looked around and saw an old book and grabbed it. Forrest had many books containing ancient spells and languages from vanished civilizations, but this book seemed older than all the others.

Roland looked at the title of the book that seemed mysterious and opened it to find writing above the title, writing what he thought was a translation of the title [Bloodline Suppression] His brows furrowed but he didn't ask.

He didn't want to know and it wasn't his right anymore.

Roland closed the book and walked on the wooden floor, heading towards Forrest. Forrest has always liked old, fragile things like a wooden floor, a wooden chair and old, shabby books. He was sure that if one of these books were shown to an archaeologist, Forrest would make a fortune.

It's not as though humans can show the true value of a book anyway.

Forrest liked the quiet places and to stay away from everyone, even her witch's sister, and she made this closed space, that no one could enter except her and the one she chose.

He looked at Forrest's pretty face and sighed. She was and still is the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on, with her long eyelashes, emerald green hair, and bright green eyes.

She wore a crown of white and pink roses, a short shirt that covered half of her huge breasts, and a long skirt, but cut in the side, showing two long beautiful legs.

But he no longer cares about her beauty, and he is not as attracted to her as before, is it because he has grown up? Or is it because it took so long to get back? Or is his feelings for his mate and children too precious to destroy for someone he can't control?

Seeing that he has spent a lot of time away from his mate, he decides not to waste his time and starts doing what he comes for.

"Forrest, let's break up..."

The hand that was pouring the tea stopped for a moment, but continued to pour:

"Stop joking Roland, I'm done with all my commitments and I'm not leaving again, I'm all yours."

"I found my mate..."

Forrest's expression changed in a stupor for a while, and she raised her head and looked into Roland's eyes:

"You..., you're serious!..."

" I can't leave her forrest, I have obligations to the pack, to my parents, and my wolf too. If my mate had never appeared I would have stayed with you and waited for you, but she did appear and if I reject her I will be weaker as time goes by and my wolf would have died I am the only son of my parents I have to protect the pack and my children....."

Forrest remained silent until she heard him talking about his children. Her eyes widened and she felt short of breath:

"You…, have a child?….."

Roland pursed his lips and did not reply, knowing that talking about children is a sensitive subject for her.

"I told you from the beginning that I couldn't give you a child but you kept following me around saying you didn't care and that you loved me, what was that..."

"I was an ignorant man, unaware of the responsibilities and tasks I had to do, but now I understand. Forrest, I realized I was wrong, but I ask you to understand. I cannot destroy a pack for the sake of meaningless and Fleeting feelings..."

Forrest laughed nervously.

" Fleeting feelings??... you dare to say that what we had was fleeting meaningless feelings!!.." Her laughter stopped and her face was distorted with anger. He had never seen Roland Forrest being so angry before.

" Get out .."

Roland opened his mouth to say something but closed it. He released the necklace from his neck and handed it to her.

"Sorry for everything...."

Forrest did not answer him and ignored his presence. Roland went out of the house and out of the Forrest area and back into the cold forest outside he turned into a wolf, but when they were leaving he heard Forrest's voice as if she was whispering in his ear:

"If I want to forgive you and forget everything, meet me at Twilight Lake six months from now."

.

Roland let out a deep breath, not realizing that he was holding it in, and smiled happily. He knew Forrest was different, and hurried back to his mate, and their 3 children.

so far the beta failed to realize that in the end, Forrest is still a witch, and the witch, no matter how good-hearted she is, if her heart is broken, will drag everyone with her into a life of misery and grief.
