Little Sister

The time has come... What is it, you ask? My little sister, Eleanor, will be born today. Even though my memory of the comic is vague now, I remember that Arthur has a little sister named Eleanor, and she will be mine and Arthur's little sister.

Despite the fact that I was reborn and am living my life as Alexander Leywin, I don't feel like I deserve this life. Maybe I'm overthinking, but am I supposed to exist? I know there are many alternate universes out there, but I just don't get it.

I am waiting outside of the room. My mood is a bit of a mess. I never thought of having a little sister, but now I'm going to be a big brother. Even though Art is supposed to be my big brother, he never really acts like one in the first place... maybe because we are adults in mind.

"Sigh... I need to stop overthinking." I close my eyes, trying to relax my mind.

Finally, I heard a creaking sound as I opened my eyes. The door opened, revealing Dad and the baby on his arm. His smile is warm as he looks at the baby.

"Alex, from now on, this is your little sister, Eleanor Leywin." Dad gave me the baby Eleanor. I stare at the baby.

"Hello~ I'm your big brother." I whisper softly as I caress her.

Her little hand suddenly grab my finger and laughed. Dad gently smiled as he watches us. I smile as I continue holding baby Eleanor.

Although I'm busy training I'll make sure to make time for Eleanor. At least, I'll fill the place that Art couldn't do in Eleanor's early life.

Training has been daily life for me but my body needs a lot of development and rest. Being healthy is more important than forcing my body to train and break.

After training, I always take care of Ellie when mom can't. She's adorable and it's urged me to hug her everytime, she's the cutest little sister ever.

And without notice, my personality has changed. I can express my emotions easily with my family which I'm really happy about and with Ellie, she easily melts my serious demeanor.

Anything for my little sister, I would do it. After all, it was a big brother's job.

"The training today is over. You could rest now." "Master said."

As always, the master quickly left without any more words. Leaving me alone on the ground, I jolted up and went back to the manor.

I enter Ellie's room and am greeted by mom, holding baby Ellie. Mom smiled as she saw me finish my training and asked, "Alex, how's the training today?"

"Just like usual, training my wind magic and water magic." After I said that, I held out my hands to hug little Ellie, but Mom pushed me away from Ellie.

"You are sweaty, young mister. Go take a bath." Mom sternly said,

"Buttt Ellie recover my stamina! I swear it'll be quick." I pouted.

"No is no. Now go take a bath and clean yourself up from the sweats. " Mom warned me.

"Alright..." I let out a sigh of defeat.

Big Time Skip (3 Years)

Three years have passed, and my routine every day is training and babysitting Ellie. I've been progressing at a quick pace. I am now a light orange core mage.

Only my family and master knew (including the Helstea family). They were in disbelief when they saw how fast I was progressing, but my master assured them that it was my talent and nothing dangerous would happen to me.

Even though my magic training is going well, I can't say the same for my sword training. Despite the fact that it was within my master's growth expectations, I feel a little short... I know it sounds like I'm greedy, but I feel like I can do better.

But to truly gain fast growth is through real battle experience, and I haven't fought anyone besides Master for 3 years.

Yes, my sword skills have grown, but the master keeps beating me and I have never won against her. Her moves were impossible to follow, and it felt like she was dancing.

To significantly progress in sword skills, one must find worthy opponents that are also skilled at swords. At least that is what the master said. Xyrus City did hold a sword tournament, but because of my age, it was impossible to register.

Master could bend the rule and register me to join the tournament but master said, "Don't be too impatient, you are growing and enjoy your childhood first."

Maybe master is right, I'm just too scared to expect the future. Even though magic world is dangerous but at least, there's some peace in Dicathen.

3rd Person POV:

Alex can be seen reading books and drinking tea in the living room alone. His master, Lucy is not in Xyrus city at the moment because the Guild Hall requests Lucy to explore a dangerous dungeon.

Suddenly, someone cover Alex's eyes and said, "Guess who is it~"

Alex sighed, "Lily, I know that this is you."

"Correct~" Lilia grinned as she let go of her hands off Alex's eyes.

Alex put his book away and stretch his arms and legs. He has reading for few hours now and it's made his legs and arms kind of stiff.

"Let's have fun outside to the plaza!"

"Since I have nothing to do, let's go." Alex accepted, it was good to waste time with friend.

Lilia hearing Alex's response becomes excited and pulls Alex's hand.

"Ah! I can walk too, you know." Alex groaned.

"Nope~ You are too slow when walking, let's buy some treats!" Lilia, smiling like an innocent girl hurriedly goes outside while pulling Alex's arm.

Alex and Lilia can be considered best friends by everyone. Vincent thought it was lovely to match Alex and Lilia, but Alex couldn't really see Lilia as a love interest.. Yes, she is cute, but Alex saw Lilia as a little sister rather than a love interest.

Alex's adult mind never thinks of dating a young girl, despite the fact that he's a kid himself. Even then, he doesn't have any plan to think about romance because he is still a child.

Alex and Lilia are strolling through the bustling plaza, which sells a variety of goods such as food, toys, swords, bows, and so on.

They smiled as they enjoyed the time they spent together. One would think they were just a cute pair of siblings but if you think anything dirty... then you are a certified pedo.

In Alex's hand, he holds a meat skewer. Eating it while following excited Lilia everywhere she goes until afternoon.

Alex and Lilia sat on the highest tower since there's no mountain on the floating city but at least it was beautiful to see from high point.

'Youth is beautiful.' Alex thought.

"Hey, Alex."

"Hmm?" Alex raise his brow while still eating meat skewer, he was addicted to eating meat skewer.

"Life is beautiful, don't you agree? I hope this last forever." Lilia suddenly said.

Alex doesn't know how to exactly answer that but he just said, "Mhmm... I hope so."

Realizing Lilia had fallen asleep on his shoulder, Alex smiled, but this time it was a bitter smile, "But Lilia, life is not so very beautiful when you see the dark side of the world. But I hope you can still be happy even after seeing the worst thing. "

There is no denying it; Alex's fear of the future is imminent. Even though Alex's memory of what was happening in the future was blurry, he could remember that there was supposed to be another continent, and he couldn't determine if the continent was friendly or hostile.

However, the probability that it was hostile is high rather than friendly. After all, he couldn't be sure if anything that was bound to happen would always be good.

Alex then carries Lilia back home.
