1 CHAPTER 1: THE GREAT SORCERER'S BRIDE

"Yes, Sir. I've already passed the documents that you're asking for."

"You're a lifesaver. You know that right?"

I couldn't help but smile when he said that. I've worked my way up for this job. I've had countless overtimes, going extra miles and even buying coffees every morning just to get on their good side. I've set my goal to be the chief editor before the year ends ever since I heard that Ms. Reynolds would quit her job to travel all around the world with her husband. I did everything to prove to everyone that I deserve to have that job.

It was 10:32 in the evening and I'm staring at the starry night sky over the balcony. I'm on the 21st floor so I pretty much see everything from up here. I shiver a little when the night breeze sweeps over my body. I'm wearing my usual nightwear, a silk pair of peach camisole and shorts with my brown hair tied into a messy bun. I held the cup of coffee with my palms as I carefully sip on it. I almost spilled it when I heard a knock on my door.

Seriously? In the middle of the night?

Wait. It can't be Cleo since she's at Ohio nor my boyfriend, Andrew, he's still out of the country for a business meeting but probably, he already got home and wanted to surprise me.

I softly chuckle as I place the cup of coffee on the table and walked to the door with a smirk on my lips. Poor Andrew, as if he can surprise, it's not like the first time for him to do something like this.

"Surprise my ass-" I teased as I open the door but instead of Andrew's normal build and his usual pullover and jeans, I was greeted by a fairly well build man wearing a tuxedo with jet black hair and grey eyes. He had a charming jaw with a perfect supple red lips. 'Would have been better if it was smiling', I thought. He had this frown on his face, scowling at me.

"You're late." His husky voice said in a dominating, stern voice.

"L-Late? For what? I don't even know you. Excuse me, I think you got the wrong person." I frowned as I stare back at this handsome piece of young man. Oh no mister, just because you're oozing with sex appeal doesnt mean you can intimidate me so I tried to close the door because I know another second with him, I'm going to lose my mind.

"Ouvert à travers." I felt a cold wind and the door opened right after I closed it. What the heck?

"You're late. You're coming with me." He placed his hands into his pockets and cocked his head to one side, scowling even further.

"Mister, whoever you are, I told you I don't kno-"

"Faire évoluer les vêtements." A soft light emits from my body that left my jaw hanging and when the light faded, my nightwear is now a white wedding gown.

"W-Whats happeni-" I didn't even get to finish the statement when everything went black.
