Fediluv’s Vision (Part 1)

"Morgantus!", they shouted as they ran towards him. "Have you seen the new students yet?!"

"The new students?"

Morgantus blinked in confusion. He didn't remember hearing about any new students from his parents, nor was he aware of any other students who were coming to the academy today.

"Yes!", they replied excitedly as they surrounded him. "The headmaster announced it a while ago! There's going to be some new students joining our class today."

"Oh right!", he said with a nod, trying to recall any mention of that in any of his conversations with his family the night before. "I haven't heard anything about it."

"Well that's strange!", said one of the students while they continued to chatter excitedly amongst themselves, "You'd think someone would have mentioned it to you."

He shook his head in confusion as he began to walk past the academy gates with them.

"I guess not..."

Just then, a few figures dressed in black robes came walking towards them from inside the academy grounds.

Morgantus looked back at the academy gates and noticed several more figures in black robes moving towards them from behind as well.

They were all wearing hoods and appeared to be carrying books under their arms.

As they came closer, Morgantus saw that they were not just students carrying books; each one of them was a member of the academy staff carrying books and scrolls as they walked toward them.

Morgantus quickly stepped aside to give them room as they passed by him. The group of students who had been standing with him all gasped and fell silent as they stared in awe at the procession of wizards passing by them in silence.

Morgantus frowned at the sight as he looked at them curiously. He wondered what could be so important that so many wizards from the academy needed to rush out in such a hurry today.

Was there an emergency? Or was it just some routine work for them to attend to?

Squinting his eyes, Morgantus watched them pass by, his head filled with questions and his curiosity piqued. He watched as the wizards passed through the gates and vanished without saying a word.

As he stood there wondering what was going on, he felt someone grab him from behind and pull him away from the gates. He turned around to see Fediluv staring at him with a serious expression on her face, holding onto his hand.

"What's going on? Where are they going?", he asked confused.

Fediluv looked back at the gates as if she were seeing something that no one else could see,

"Something is going on at the academy."

Morgantus furrowed his brow, "What are you talking about?"

She sighed and turned to look back at him, "I don't know. But something's wrong."

She took Morgantus' hand in hers as she began to lead him away from the gates.

Fediluv stopped suddenly and stared at something behind Morgantus as if she were frozen in time.

Morgantus turned around and looked back at her curiously, "What's wrong?"

He looked around but didn't see anyone or anything suspicious nearby. Fediluv remained still, her gaze locked onto something behind him that Morgantus couldn't see from where he was standing.

She spoke in a hushed voice, "The academy... It's gone."

"What do you mean it's gone? We're literally right beside it right now, aren't we?", Morgantus asked as he tried to understand what Fediluv was saying to him.

Fediluv shook her head silently, her gaze fixed on the wall as she mumbled quietly, "It's gone."

"Gone? Like gone missing? Gone somewhere else?" Morgantus asked as he stared at the wall where Fediluv was looking, his confusion growing as he continued to question her.

"No." Fediluv finally replied as she took a deep breath before speaking again, "It's gone."

"What do you mean it's gone?", he repeated as he began to walk towards her, trying to see what she was looking at. "What do you mean it's gone? How is it gone?"

Fediluv closed her eyes and shook her head slowly from side to side. Morgantus could see that she was trembling as she began to speak again, "It's gone."

"Gone? Gone how?" he repeated as he reached out to touch her shoulder but stopped as he felt an intense burst of energy flow through her body. It sent him flying into the air as if he had been struck by lightning.

Morgantus landed hard against his back, feeling pain shoot throughout his entire body from being hit so forcefully with a jolt of pure energy.

He opened his mouth to scream but nothing came out, only a soft whimper escaped from between his lips instead.

His heart thudded loudly in his chest and blood rushed to his head. Everything became blurry and his senses were dulled.

"Noooooooo!" Fediluv screamed in terror as she jumped back with her hands raised in front of her as if to ward off a threat. "No no no no!"

A faint white light glowed around her as the air around her began to shimmer and flicker with blue-green sparks. Her skin started glowing softly, and the tips of her ears grew bright red as they lit up like torches.

Now lying on his back, Morgantus looked over at Fediluv in shock, witnessing the scene change before his very eyes.

The sky began to darken, and a storm cloud formed above them, thunder booming across the land.

The school wall that they were previously looking at had vanished into thin air and in its place was nothing but ruins.

"Fediluv!", Morgantus cried as he sat up, "What's happening? What is this?"

"This isn't real. This can't be real..." she muttered to herself as she looked at the sky in horror, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm losing my mind. I've lost myself. Please, Morgantus. Help me!", she pleaded to him desperately as she clutched at his arm tightly in fear.

The clouds overhead swirled and churned, creating a terrifying vortex in the sky.
