The magical school

After the rogues had moved, now the banners started signalling the warrior sect started moving. The people following the warrior path were mainly long and buff teenagers, primarily male, and they all looked really dangerous "I wonder if I could win a fight against them" Alexander was visualizing the fight in his head.

Then the banner representing the monks started moving. The number of people following this trail had been quite a small amount. The people who decided to follow looked quite strange, a few of them had gentle eyes and looked like gentle people, others were defects. Some were long and skinny, some walked weirdly and some hunched over as if they could not walk with a straight back. It was a weird mix.

The banner following that represented the ranger sect. This time it was primarily women that had decided to follow. All the people that decided to follow the banner made Alexander is uneasy, mainly because they all looked so calm. Well, not everyone. There was one walking in the forefront which was apparently filled with energy, so much so that he was jumping.

Then the banner representing the mages came. As the banner started moving the people following that were quite diverse. There wasn't a real visual difference between the people following the banner, they also did not give off a special feeling. It was as if there was no pattern between them, maybe that was the pattern. Alexander was lost in thought but when Orion walked past him he realised something critical.

He also had to follow!

He ran to the back group and walked with them. He felt butterflies in his stomach, actually, it felt as if the butterflies were punching the edges of his stomach. He was only a few days away from casting magic.

He started visualizing the actual magic he would be casting. Would he be able to create fields of ice, maybe he could create minions of dirt that were 15 meters tall. Would he be able to regenerate his wounds as if he was a phoenix, maybe he could fly? Maybe he would learn how to control the environment around him with his mere thoughts. Alexander was so lost in time that he did not realize he was in the middle of the forest.

Time had flown by as Alexander was fantasizing about his new future, so much so, that he did not realise that the actual school was in front of him. He looked up and his eyes became filled with amazement.

The castle was literally the definition of giant. There were so many different parts to it that Alexander got a headache thinking about it. The castle was made out of chiseled stone which gave it a dark grey shade. Around the castle there was plenty of free ground there before it disappeared into forest.

Than Alexander saw something he had missed. In front of him was a white barrier of sorts, it had a fade, enough to see through it but still able to see it. On closer inspection, Alexander realised that the barrier expanded all around the school.

The banner leading the group kept on moving into the school, it passed straight through the translucent barrier. Alexander kept on moving and when he was about to pass through the translucent barrier he got goosebumps but the process had proceeded quite smoothly.

Alexander stept past the barrier he felt his entire body become lighter and his eyes widened up a little bit. Alexander was still looking around, it was only natural since he was going to spend the next three years of his life in this area. The school seemed quite silent, actually, he did not see any other students in the school. It was supposed to be living here with a lot of students everywhere, that's what he had heard from travelling magician at least.

Then, just like before he heard a voice. This time it belonged to a woman and it seemed to come from the front of the group.

"Hello newly-arrived, we will start the examinations now. Please follow me."

She started walking towards the entrance but when she got to it she went to the right of it instead of entering it. She walked around the school and we followed her, as Alexander was walking alongside her he realised how large the school was. Alexander had never seen a building of this size, he could not wait to enter it.

The lady then took a sharp right and started moving towards a much smaller building, the building was made out of stone just like the main building. Around it stood to other people who Alexander presupposed to be teachers.

The lady leading the group suddenly stopped the entire group.

"Now the examination will begin: you will take turns going into the small building. There you will find items which have a strong magical element tied to them, learn the name of the item you feel the strongest affinity to."

She breathed in.

"Then we will test your magical talent to see if you are qualified to study here"

After she had finished she stepped aside and let the first person in the group enter the building. uneasily. Alexander felt dry sweat dripping down his forehead as he was waiting. Then it finally got to Alexander turn after what felt like a year of waiting.

He entered the building through a small door. The room felt heated and was lighted better than it was outside; in the room, there were multiple pedestals. Each pedestal had a strange item that lay on it. Alexander stood still and looked around unsure of what exactly he was doing.

Then he realised that there were still people in the queue and decided to hurry. He looked around the room a second time, there were a few pedestals that intrigued him. He walked over to the first one, on it was an ice cube. As Alexander's eyes closed in on the ice cube they realised that it was not melting even though the room was so warm.

Alexander tried to touch the ice cube before jerking his hand away due to the pain he felt, it was similar to holding your hand over a lighter for an extended time which caused a burning feeling. Instead of a burning feeling, his hand felt numb with nail piercing pain emanating from his hand.

He went to the other pedestal, on this one there lay a tooth. Alexander did not know what creature the tooth belonged to, it was pure black, long and sharp. Alexander who had learned from his previous mistake decided to observe it from a distance. He got a special feeling as he observed the black tooth. It felt as if his lungs were pressing up against his heart, it was an overwhelming feeling.

'this feels strange'

He did not stop there though, he went to each and every pedestal and watched over the items. Apart from the black tooth, there was another item that felt overwhelming to look at. It was a small ball of flame, similarly to the ice cube this one radiated temperature. Naturally, the ball of flame radiated heat.

When Alexander had stood in the presence of this pedestal he had a tough time breathing, but at the same time the item in front of him looked extremely attractive, Alexander felt uneasy.

After that experience, he exited the room where he was greeted by another person. He asked Alexander which item Alexander had felt the strongest connection to. At that moment Alexander had a mental facepalm, he had been so caught up in feeling the sensations released from the items that he had completely forgotten looking at their actual names.

"The ball of fire..." he uttered

"Torch of Azaroth?"

"Is that the ball of fire?"

"Yes" responded snarky almost as if Alexander had slandered his culture.
