CHAPTER 26 FLOOD DRAGON

The flood dragon let out a roar and fired numerous water spears.

Glutton used [instantaneous evasion] to dodge the barrage of [water spears]. The flood dragon just kept firing an endless amount of [water spears], not letting Glutton rest.

Glutton just kept on dodging and dodging, and after dodging continuously for a couple of minutes, it seems to have found a pattern and struck back.

A wind blade was thrown in the flood dragon's mouth, making it stop.

Glutton just won't let out a chance and produced two tornadoes on both sides of the flood dragon.

The flood dragon felt threatened and let out a loud roar, then let its horn shine. After that, the weather became cloudy, and a patch of dark clouds formed on top of the flood dragon.

Then chaos descends, lightning strikes everything in the area, and Shadow is even forced to use [Advance Wind Dash] to get away.

Glutton let out a howl, then wind elements gathered towards its body. It then used [Wind Dash] and [Instantaneous Evasion] at the same time.

Glutton became a blur, then became faster and faster until its shadows couldn't be seen.

The lightning strikes lasted for 30 minutes. The two of them were breathing haggardly after fighting continuously without rest. Glutton was running out of stamina while the flood dragon was running out of energy.

Both of them look at each other, and it seems they decided on something and didn't continue to fight Shadow. They then decided to talk with Glutton through their spirit contract.

"Glutton, why did the two of you fight? It seems there is a grudge between the two of you."

"Master, this stinky snake said that all of the beasts who contracted with humans are pathetic."

"Oh, so what did you say to it?"

"You don't know shit; you are just a stinky snake that lives all of its life on a lake."

"After that, we insulted each other some more until we fought."

"Lake? Isn't this the sea? Why did you say it was a lake?"

"Master, this snake came from a lake and just recently moved here."

Shadow then came in front of the snake and looked at it.

"You said that all the beasts that contracted with humans were pathetic."

The flood dragon proudly raised his head, agreeing

"Then why can't you defeat Glutton?"

The dragon wants to complain that it was just a showdown of elemental attacks. If close combat is permitted, it can defeat Glutton easily.

"I know you are not satisfied that you still didn't fight with all you got and that you can defeat Glutton with close combat."

"But think about it: Glutton is still just a teen while you are already an adult, and the way you control your elements was much more precise than Glutton's, but you still didn't manage to win."

The flood dragon kept quiet; it knew what Shadow said was true, but it just couldn't put down its ego and let out a snort.

"If you really think so little of humans, how about a match?"

The flood dragon looks at Shadow, and disdain is clearly showing in its eye.

"Don't worry, I'll let you rest and recover your energy."

"Human, there is no need; I can take you down only using physical strength."

"Don't look down on me; I am at a complete advantage to you if the two of us fight in close combat."

The flood dragon let out an exaggerated laugh and looked at Shadow condescendingly. "Human, you may not know, but we, the dragons, have natural, strong bodies that are much mightier than your average physiques."

"Yes, I know that you have an innate ability called [Dragon Body], but I am a master swordsman with a very terrifying weapon, so you will definitely lose in a close combat match."

"Your sword can never cause great damage to me; if you can, then I am even willing to sign a contract with you."

"Oh, what's in it for you?"

"It will show that I am truly superior to you humans and that I can win against this dog."

It seems that having a tie with Glutton hurts its pride very greatly.

Shadow then came in front of it and said, "Are you ready? I will start attacking, so brace yourself."

The flood dragon let out a snort, looking arrogant, thinking that humans wouldn't deal much damage.

Shadow then dashes towards the flood dragon. Seeing this, the flood dragon whips its tail at him.

Shadow easily dodged the tail and jumped, arriving at the flood dragon's head.

Shadow then took a stance; he put his hand on Killer's handle and released a baleful sword aura.

The flood dragon immediately felt unprecedented danger when Shadow took a stance.

Heaven-Destroying Slash

*Shing* A sword hum was heard, then a huge straight line was seen on the flood dragon's back.

*Pwish* Blood continuously flowed out of the wound, and the flood dragon was writhing because of extreme pain.

It kept releasing roars of agony.

"Why can't the wounds heal, and why does it happen so much?"

"The wound is infected with my baleful sword, so it won't be dispelled easily."

After feeling the agonising pain for 10 minutes, the flood dragon slumps into the ground.

"You've been defeated, and as per agreement, you will be my contracted beast."

The flood dragon looks at Shadow, and then Glutton seems deep in thought.

"Okay, I will sign a contract with you, but this does not mean I won't ask for a rematch."

"Oh, are you still not satisfied with the result of our battle?"

"Nope, not ours, but mine and the dog. I will fight with him during our free time, even though I don't want to say it, but I now see this wolf as my rival."

Shadow smiled and said, "Welcome to the family, Thunder."

The flood dragon nodded and seemed satisfied with the name Thunder.

Shadow then signed a contract with it and returned to where the women were playing.

When the ladies saw Shadow returning, they all heaved a sigh of relief. They asked what happened, and he told them about Glutton and Thunder.

After investing in the beach and playing until sundown, they returned back to town, excluding Thunder, who just let it stay there.
