HER EYES ARE TRAINED ON HIM for what feels like hours with her heart pounding.

His brown-red hair glittering under the sunlight, making him look ethereal; unhuman. She decides she has had enough when he tilts his head to the right and throws her a small, scary smile.

Whimpering in pain and fear, she quickly opens the door, crawling out. She can't keep her head up for the first few seconds as she feels as if everything around her is spinning. Her bare feet on the asphalt burns, but she doesn't stop walking away.

Then she picks up pace, running the opposite direction- back to where she came from and out of the tree covered path. She ignores the curious stares of people around her as she stops running to catch her breath.

She looks around for another option and she sees a few people guiding their kids away from her, while some just stared with concerned looks, doing nothing.

Her breath begins to slow down and she runs a hand down her face, getting the feel of warm blood on her face.

How did she end up in this mess? A toaster?

A man with glasses approaches her, "Miss. Do you need help? Is something wrong?"

Aubrey's mind is all over the place as she tries to take control of her situation. To her, it seems like the ground is moving and time is flying by, faster than normal as she begins to hyperventilate.

"Miss, are you okay?" He moves closer.

She begins to stumble along the pavement; her feet stamping on tiny stones, shooting pain up her head.

When the man sees how disorganized she is, he places a hand on her shoulder.

As if seeing him for the first time, Aubrey's eyes widen as she scans over his features.

"Is everything—"

Aubrey cuts him off, suddenly moving closer to him; her forced movements startle the man. "How do I get to Mid-Bayern from here?"

The man adjusts his glasses, taking just a step away from her with a scrunched-up face. "Where?"

Aubrey gets impatient with the man's slow and inadequate responses. "Mid-Bayern. I want to get back to Mid-Bayern, where is the closest transport?"

"Miss," He shoots her a confused look. "Are you lost?"

"Yes I am lost, what is the closest transport to Mid-Bayern?"

"I've never heard of a place like that."

Aubrey is speechless for a moment. Mid-Bayern is really popular, especially because of the university found there.

"Or do you mean a hospital named Mid-Bayern?" The man says after looking her up and down, having observed her current injured state.

She stands there, not knowing how to respond to him. He is the only person who stopped to ask about her, which means he is willing to help her but how can he when he doesn't understand her?

She presses forward. "Mid-Bayern. Mid-Bayern University?"

The man suddenly looks offended, "Is this a joke?" With a look of disgust, he walks away from her.

Tears fill her eyes; feeling like she is completely losing her sanity. She pushes a hand up her head, fisting her hair to wake her up from the messed-up dreamed. As the man walks away from her, her heart skips a beat and she turns pale. She does not freeze because her hope to escape just walked out of her presence but because her eyes land on Connor standing at a distance, staring solely at her.

He followed her.

Connor has no emotion on him which makes it harder for Aubrey to find her next move. Yet, she will not waste an opportunity to escape.

She is getting back to Mid-Bayern.

She sees a signboard of a rapid transit close by and she runs in the direction. People are stunned by her shaky appearance and forced movements, so they all pull out their phones to call the police.

A young adult panicking down the streets barefooted is an unusual sight for Australians. But Aubrey continues on her feet along the pavement, despite the controversy she is starting up.

Once at the station, she starts to yell for help; she begins waving her hands about, trying to get people to acknowledge her cries for help. Instead, they all give her disapproving looks as they move further from her.

Aubrey understands them; if her and Brady were peacefully traveling, and a lady pops out of nowhere yelling the words—

"Help! A deity is after me!"

She would have pushed Brady behind her, keeping him away from the lady's gaze.

Aubrey doesn't look back to check if Connor is behind her as she rushes into the metro station. Even if the people don't respond, she might just run into a train to go anywhere in the world. She cannot seem to find anyone to help her out, but fortunately, the police arrive.

"Officer, she's the lady causing all the nuisance." Aubrey hears one of the citizens say and she turns to the direction.

Unfortunately, Aubrey does not only set her eyes on the police but also on Connor.

His tranquil gaze on her -which seems to never leave- makes her shake in fear. He stands behind the men in blue, confidently with folded arms as his gaze doesn't shift away from Aubrey.

"Police! Freeze!"

The metro station is filled with yells and panicked screams as the police makes their presence known.

A lady in uniform rushes to stand behind Aubrey, probably to check if there are any weapons while the others point their guns at her with serious gazes.

The reports of the citizens probably took this format; 'there is an under-dressed, barefooted lady running round the roads, it is likely perceived she is crazy.'

Despite that, Aubrey feels relief seep through her for the first time in 30 minutes. If she gets arrested, she is separated from Connor and there is also a chance that the police can help her get home.

Her eyes move to Connor who seems to match well with the crowd for an angry god.

"Do not move! Don't do anything!" A police man yells, walking cautiously towards her in his dark blue uniform.

Aubrey quickly lifts her hands up above her head in surrender, "Please help." She begins crying and whimpering for help. "Please take me home. I want to go home." She goes down on her knees, tears falling streaming down her face. "I just want to go home. Please."

She lowers herself to the ground, sitting on it as she is exhausted from running. Her worn out look gets the Cops to pause their actions.

She doesn't stop sobbing her eyes out.
