Piper neared her due date. The family threw a baby shower for her and Lyric since they were due so close together. Piper didn’t make it to her baby shower. Payton decided he wanted to arrive on the day of her baby shower. Let me explain.

My wife is an amazing woman. She isn’t remarkable that she was in labor and didn’t bother to tell me. Every time I asked her if she was okay, her answer was, I’m fine. She was not okay. She was anything but fine.

We argued on the way to my parents’ house for the double shower.

/"Lex, I’m fine./" Piper winced.

/"Piper, you’re not fine./"

We arrived at my parents’ house and got out of the car.

/"I told you that I was fine!/"

/"Piper, you haven’t been fine all day, and telling me it’s gas is a big whopper!/"

/"Lex and Piper are here,/" Nixon said.

/"How do you know?/" Dad asked him.
