Four days

"War enchantments!" said Mors, considering multiple factors.

Firstly, he was going to have to help the ghosts, and the powerful enchantments would be helpful.

As that cloaked figure said, all the ghosts died in 'unagreeable' ways and will probably want to kill them. But, even though Mors didn't like it, the people who killed the ghosts were evil, so it might be alright.

So the powerful enchantments would be valuable as they would allow Mors to not watch someone die. And it could be practical when stealing that herb.

"Great! I might be a bit rusty, but at least you didn't pick Weaponchants!" responded Malle with a cheer. After which, he mumbled silently to himself, "Thank the elements! I don't have to study up again."

Mors had never heard that expression, 'thank the elements...' while not even considering how he heard that.

But hearing what Malle said, Mors was happy since Malle definitely didn't know how to do it. Like at all...

Hearing how Malle even suggested the three enchantments means someone can learn them all, and Mors want to learn them all.

On his journey, he could learn it from someone else.

So, with a subtle tone, Mors questioned Malle on things he was curious about, "So tell me, do you actually use human blood? Why does the blood ink move while not in use? And why would someone say 'thank the elements'?"

"That's a lot of questions!" Malle replied, slightly worried about Mors hearing his mumble. But after shaking it off to someone else saying it, Malle explained, "Firstly, let's start with the basics,"

"In this world, there are symbols all around us. Great enchanters figured these out and copied them, bringing them into our hands. That's how new ones are made." Malle explained with a smile of admiration.

"Currently, there isn't a good translation for these symbols. Which bothered all three fields of enchantment. Also, all the fields have different symbols and were created at differing times." Malle continued.

Mors absorbing this, felt better. When he saw the symbols on the crystal being different from the other symbols, he worried that it was a forbidden enchantment or something.

But no, it might be a very, very, very old type of enchantment. One that humanity had forgotten as the fog covered this town. Only in recent history had this town been revealed.

But something bothered Mors, so he asked, "Are there any similarities between them since the past influences the future?"

"Oh yes, let me explain Elements," replied Malle as Mors and hidden Afiero listened to the explanation.

Malle then explained the basics of elements, the legend of the God of Elements, and how all the elemental symbols are the same. No matter what.

Apparently, this God helped humanity with magic, providing the basis of elements and a lost symbol list. But, unfortunately, the list was lost since no one could read completed enchantments after all the practitioners died.

It quickly became a quest for enchanters to figure it out. This is why people like Mors were very important since they could read completed enchantments and could possibly repeat the symbols.

Mors hearing quickly said he could repeat the symbols, but Malle declined, saying the symbols he gave didn't work. So whatever was in his head wasn't correct or complete, and Malle could wait.

"Did my example symbols not work at all?" Asked Mors feeling slightly sad.

Nodding, Malle replied, "Yup. They never accepted the world energy or anything, just sat there."

After hearing world energy, Mors decided to ask about it, to which Malle decided to explain as detailed as possible.

"All around us, there is natural energy. Elements coat this world energy and can help boost compatible enchantments. But world energy is the base energy all enchantments absorb."

Malle continued, "It's a mysterious energy, completely different from the energy adventures use in techniques. Several have tried to enchant a human using this technique energy, all failing."

Malle continued on with how humans couldn't be enchanted. Even fresh corpses couldn't be used with current enchantments. Apparently, something weird about the human body stopped all enchantments.

Afiero quietly whispered into Mors's ear at this point, saying, "It's very true. In all alchemy, living beings are strange, as we absorb potions and pills. Inanimate objects completely reject the elements in them."

What a strange set of circumstances. It's like something decided to prevent humans from reaching magic, like in the fairy tales. Someone must have been very creative to influence people into thinking of magic as shooting fireballs with their hands.

Continuing the lesson for several hours, Mors learned about all the elements around him. Learning the elemental placements and symbols before Malle trained him on penning symbols.

.....

Afterward, Mors continued with a similar pattern of taking a morning jog, learning enchanting concepts, and training hide and seek for three more days.

Concepts like enchantment core and outer corrections, and why you use a minute amount of human blood mixed in with monster blood for the ink.

Never really making a war enchantment, but the basics of it. It had only been 4 days since he started learning.

But after these three days, Spir decided to change it up a bit.

After winning his third hide-and-seek game in a row, Spir explained to Mors, "It's time to change things up. You are a really, really good learner, and with some help, you can probably reach the herb."

"So now it's time to focus on escaping. So let me teach you about blending in." Explained Spir as he turned towards the hidden Genn.

Swiftly becoming visible, the tall Genn said, "There is a large assembly of adventures, or there will be soon, and the Adventurer's Association is preparing. It would be good to know why because this doesn't usually happen."

"Sure!" Replied the tired Mors. The old man had been putting his heart into it and trying his best to help. Also, hearing how it wasn't normal piqued Mors' curiosity.

He was ready for it.

Also, Alice had gotten worse in those days. After Mors returned home this time, Alice was still in bed, and Spir was the one playing seek.

She didn't have much time, and Afiero predicted that she needed the herb in four days.

It seemed like a little bit of time, but Mors hoped he would have enough experience to successfully steal the herb. He didn't want another ghost right now.

So the group quickly checked up on Alice, seeing her still asleep, so adding a glass of water and a few Minoth berries on the nightstand before locking up and leaving.

He would worry more, but he had come to learn that Afiero could help Alice in some way. Afiero wouldn't tell him how, but it allowed Mors to go out without any worry.

So quickly locking up, Mors quickly ran to the Adventurer's Association through a back way he found recently, which allowed him to reach there three times faster than before.

Arriving with Spir, since Genn stayed with Afiero and Alice, Mors quickly reached the towering Adventures Association tower and various buildings.

Going towards the central tower, Mors quickly reached the main door, decorated with a lot of incomplete enchantments. He realized that they had to be inactive since he could see them on his entering.

Also, all the symbols are not connected to any symbols Mors had seen.

Most likely, it was incomplete symbols and lines...

Or it could be art.

Mors didn't know, but he definitely wanted to... He should really write down his questions to ask since he keeps on forgetting.

Opening the door, Mors couldn't see a crowd in there, but looking behind him, he found a few people walking towards the tower from the city center.

So walking in, Mors waited and mixed into the crowds or tried to as Spir explained what he was doing wrong, and Mors's tried to fix it.

As he mixed in with the growing crowd, Mors decided to listen in since he wanted to know what happened. He heard some interesting, and worrying things.

From a tall, burly guy, he heard, "-damn monsters! Where are they? How could t-" before Mors had to continue moving.

From a skinny guy, he heard, "-y one party that died, and it had to be the o-" before the crowd cheered and Mors could only catch, "-reported-" before the guy stopped.

Something was definitely going on, and it was making all the adventures antsy. All of them coming in looked like they got no sleep.

All of them looked healthy but either disappointed or angry. Walking around to others, he heard a few more statements.

"-t believe it. How could we find so little amount of evidence-" stated a broadsword lady.

"I hope that %$^#( ^#ed, to get my hope so hi-." announced an angry man into the crowd.

Hearing all of these, Mors tried to piece it together, while Spir criticized how he hid.

After an hour, an Association representative appeared on the stairs, and everyone quieted down.

Smiling a fake smile, the representative announced, "Hello all, and thank you for your participation. We have heard the reports and are here to announce--"

I am sorry for the long paragraphs, but I had to explain a few things for my power system. Anyway, the long explaination is over for a while.

Anyway, Enjoy your day!
