Hey mom, I'm pregnant

Aria Grant's pregnancy test results were out.

Two lines, two lines, two lines, and another two lines, clear as day. All four of them.

Aria was in shock. She gasped and almost dropped the test kits. It suddenly struck her, the nauseating discomfort feeling after having her usual three cups of coffee this morning. One in bed brought by Marissa the maid, one during breakfast, and one to-go on the journey to school. She thought it was just anxiety over her finals. Something nudged her to run to the drug store after school and she picked up all four brands of different pregnancy test kits that were available. Finals were near, just three months more till she could travel the entire Europe continent with her boyfriend, Finn Hudson.

Their families are the powerhouse of New York, the Grants and Hudsons. Their families loved that they got along, in hopes that one day the families would be joined by marriage. All for the better to keep the wealthy, well, wealthier. Aria was such an excellent student too. Straight As, captain of the debate team and she was en route to Harvard, just like five generations of Grants before her. She was going to have an undisrupted, smooth sailing life, before finding out about her pregnancy, undoubtedly.

Aria sat down at her vanity and looked into the mirror. She was going to tell Finn about the test result tonight after dinner. She pulled out her make-up case, and took out a beautiful lipstick encased in gold. "Guerlain Paris," Finn gifted it to her on her birthday. It was her most prized possession, next to the heart-shaped locket Dad gave to her for Christmas years ago. She carefully applied it on her lips, softly pursing her lips to create a soft look. Everything is going to be fine, Aria thought to herself.

Tonight they were celebrating Davis and Clara Grant's 20th wedding anniversary. Aria is their only child, their precious diamond. The maid Marissa knocked softly, and then loud and firm on Aria's bedroom door, "Miss Ari, time to get changed. I have your dress neatly pressed." "Come in, Marissa. Leave the dress on the ottoman. I'll be just a minute," said Aria. She was swimming in her thoughts, drafting in her mind how would she break the news to her parents, who cared about her being proper and poised lady. Certainly, there was nothing proper nor poised bearing a child out of wedlock! She was only 17 years old, certainly this isn't a good time to be knocked up. She carefully caressed her stomach, "Don't worry, mummy will never leave you," she said quietly.
