Chapter 3

After the party concluded, I exited the building, and strolled towards the car. As I was making my way, I heard people conversing in the distance, but I decided to disregard it. Once I arrived at the car, Serena strided out with a frantic expression.

"Have you seen Phoebe?" she exclaimed, rushed.

"No," I asked, "where was she last?"

"Last time I saw her, she told me she wanted to go to the bathroom," Serena told me.

"Did you check the bathroom after a while?" I questioned.

"Yes I did, but she was nowhere to be found," Serena burst out, alarmed.

"It's okay," I assured Serena, "we'll tell Dr. Murphy, and maybe she can locate where Phoebe last was. Did anyone have a grudge against Phoebe?"

"Hmm…" Serena contemplated. "No one had a grudge against Phoebe, other than the queen, but she's in jail."

"That's strange," I commented, frowning.

"I know, right?" Serena agreed.

"Let's go back home," I ordered. "I'm pretty sure she could've gone with Alex and Dylan."

I opened the car door, and put my bag in the seat, as I hopped in the car. A moment later, I saw the front car door open, and Serena stepped inside.

Soon enough, we were on the street, as I was checking the news source for any signs of Phoebe Redwood. A moment later, The Amber Alert message filled my entire phone screen, as I heard alarms coming from the phone.

"Oh my gosh, that scared me!" Serena exclaimed in shock.

"I know, they're apparently asking the town to find Phoebe," I supplied.

We continued driving, as I scrolled through the news site, containing information about what Phoebe looks like.

"Did he really have to add that photo of Phoebe?" I sighed.

When we arrived at the palace, Alex and Dylan were frantically waiting for us.

"We have to find Phoebe!" Dylan panicked.

" I heard about it on the news site earlier," I recalled.

I walked inside the palace, and I saw 2 police officers talking to each other.

"Why not Murphy?" I questioned Dylan, offended.

"Right, I, um, forgot about Murphy," Dylan nervously chuckled.

"So, you basically forgot about the number one dectective?" I added, offended.

Later tonight, I watched the news to see any updates, and when I saw the title, Dr. Murphy is missing, I dropped my cup.

The cup shattered on the floor, as my mouth opened in shock.

"I guess there's no Murphy to help us anymore," Serena shook her head.

"Murphy was our only hope!" I complained.

"Do you suspect that the queen is behind this?" Dylan pondered.

"No, why would she, she's in jail," I reminded them.

"And besides, it could be one of our dangerous criminals, Micheal Rayburn," Serena suggested, "I heard he's back in town."

"Good point," Dylan agreed.

"I also heard that Micheal Rayburn was Murphy's ex-husband," Alex informed.

"Whatever, we need to find them both before it's too late," Serena warned, changing the subject.

I got up from the sofa, and made my way to the kitchen, before Serena started speaking again.

"Penelope and Alex, you look around downtown Mokland for them, while me and Dylan look around in the woods," Serena instructed.

"That's going to be a long search," I complained.

"But at least it's worth it when we find them both," Serena reassured.
