Chapter 19

"I didn't know you guys were already here," Serena squealed.

"Yeah, I was supposed to go to Pamela's for lunch, but then the paparazzi were chasing me since I'm apparently famous for solving a crime," I explained.

"Speaking of solving a crime, Murphy wanted you to come to court next week," Serena informed, "As Phoebe said, the court will be very important, and we need you there."

"I can already picture the paparazzis chasing Penelope on her way to the courthouse door," Phoebe chuckled.

"Oh no," Serena shook her head in disbelief, "The public will come after Penelope, and besides, four bodyguards will be accompanying her."

"I don't need guards, I'm fine," I argued back.

"Penelope, it's for your own safety," Serena snapped.

"Anyways, welcome back home Alex," Sam greeted, stopping the argument.

"Hello," Alex waved, "I noticed the house looks nice."

"Yep, we cleaned up the mess from last night," Serena smiled.

"Who do you mean by 'we'?" I heard Dylan, "I did all the work, remember?"

I saw Dylan open the door, as he looked kind of annoyed.

"You were trying to make up with Sam, remember" Dylan reminded Serena.

"Oh right," Serena chuckled.

Dylan rolled his eyes, as he closed the front door.

"Anyways Alex, would you like to check out your improved room?" Sam offered.

"Yeah sure," Alex agreed, "I can't wait to see my new room!"

Sam opened the door, as Alex followed him inside the house. I saw them go up the stairs, as Alex was feeling very excited.

"Fanmail was dropped off earlier this morning," Serena informed, giving tons of mail.

"Wow, now I even have fans!" I exclaimed with joy.

"Yeah, and they all look up to you as their inspiration," Serena added.

"I guess i'm not just a pretty pink princess after all," I sighed.

"You should thank Murphy for that?" Serena suggested, "After all, you worked with Murphy a lot."

"Yes, I will go to Murphy tomorrow to thank her," I promised.

I ran upstairs, thinking about the chaos at Pamela's restaurant, and how angry Phoebe was at the paparazzi's. I don't blame her, the crowd and paparazzi can be a bit annoying and aggravating sometimes, especially when the public makes up dating rumors that tarnishes your reputation. I guess this is what the true meaning of fame is.

When I entered my room, I smelled the fresh air from outside, as the windows were open. Today was supposed to be a beautiful day, especially after the criminals were arrested, and Mokland has finally been restored. I can feel joy and happiness once again. Suddenly, I decided to call James, after I last saw him at Murphy's law office. I'm pretty sure he is happy that I solved the crime, and put the criminals behind bars. When James answered the call, my heart felt like a million butterflies flew around. I can finally hear his soft and attractive voice, as he was congratulating me.

"How did you catch the criminals?" James asked.

"Well," I nervously chuckled, "Yesterday morning, I was setting up traps around the perimeters around the palace."

"Did you buy the materials from the store?" James added.

"No, I created the traps myself, using the materials from my own palace," I answered, smiling.

"Wow, you must be creative," James complimented.

"Yeah, I know," I agreed.

"Anyways, I have to go. Talk to you later babe," He winked, before hanging up.

I looked up at the clouds, daydreaming about the next time I will see James.

"Reporters are little shits!" Phoebe hollered in the background.

"Wait, what happened?" I wondered, as I ran to Phoebe's room.

When I entered Phoebe's room, she looked very upset.

"Phoebe, what happened?" I asked.

Phoebe showed me a phone, and there was a video of a person cancelling her for being rude to the paparazzi's, and I immediately got furious.

"Ugh, this generation," Phoebe complained.
