270 The Claws

Everything happened so fast that Simione didn't even have time to blink an eye. When she looked up, she saw Hawk's grey eyes digging into her while he tried to cross the sea of people rushing, separating him from his wife. There was determination in his eyes, and so was fear. Knowing that Hawk too was in danger, Simione didn't hesitate to run back to him—it was such a frightful moment!

As soon as Hawk reached Simione's hand, he pulled her close and covered her, protecting her by wrapping his arms and body around her. Their heartbeat raced with time, breathing getting heavy and Hawk's instinct was first set on protecting his woman.

BAANG!

Another shot was fired and Simione could do nothing but held on to Hawk, hoping tremendously that he won't get hurt but just as both of them expected, the bullet was directed at him.

"Hawk!!!!!"
