Although Simione knew Hawk was crazy about her, far too crazy to even leave his long time love for her, it still hit differently when he said those words out loud. There was some sense of familiarity, sadness and sincerity about it that she could not comprehend. She knew she had no regard or value for the love of a man like him—a fucking cheater monster like him—but the way he said it, it was all taking her madness away.  Her heart that she thought was already too foolish at this point wants to believe anything that he would say. Call it a tragedy on her part; it was really happening. Her fucking heart was being vulnerable to him.
