4 Getting Out of the Forest

Su Qing rested a bit before she slowly tried to stand up, her body hurted a lot.

She didn't have the strength to stand as well.

Completely hungry and unable to do anything in this forest alone.

She decided to rest a bit more, so she leaned back on the tree trunk again, thinking about the previous Su Qing's life.

Su Qing felt tired and dizzy, so she slowly dozed off without a care in the world.

Something cold was touching Su Qing's face as she felt uncomfortable while sleeping.

'Hmm… What was that?'

Suddenly she jolted awake as she caught the thing on her face and threw it away with her eyes closed.

Su Qing opened one of her eyes to see what it was, only to see that a mid size snake was slowly disappearing in the leaves.

'Eww… disgusting!' she shivered down her spine as she sat up.

Su Qing looked down on her hand as she made fist with them, they seemed to have gained some strength back.

'This is pretty good!' she sighed. But for now, it was enough.

And the snake also wasn't the dangerous one, so she got away from danger pretty well.

Su Qing slowly tried to stand up as she took help from the big tree behind her to get strength.

After she stood up, she waited for some time to steady herself before she started to walk.

Those man's didn't take her too deep inside the forest as they already assumed that she was going to die.

So it took Su Qing quite some time before she walked out of the forest in a slow manner.

After that, she decided to go to the nearby state to get her treatment. So Su Qing continued to walk before she came in the city skirt.

She saw the camp nearby as she stood and observed them from a distance.

It looked like a refugee camp where the people were temporarily staying.

'But, why didn't they let the people go in rather than leaving them outside like this?' She was puzzled by this, but she didn't go to the guards to ask them anything.

'Rather than mingling with these refugees, I should stay single lest they come to mess with me.' With this thought, Su Qing didn't go near the refugee as she looked around to find a place to sit down.

After half a day, the city gate finally opened as people went in, Su Qing also followed them from behind.

She finally entered the city as she looked around while walking slowly on the way.

The city was bustling with people's crowd as she saw their happy faces, and a smile appeared in her face as well.

Looks like the Emperor treats his people well.

She walked around till a beautiful smell made her stomach growl in hunger.

Su Qing looked aside to see that a shop was selling the warm and fluffy steamed buns which they seemed to have made just now.

She drooled after the buns, but she didn't have any money to buy them. Su Qing tried to ignore her hunger as she looked back and started to walk away again.

Growl!

She stopped midway, Su Qing's face went red in shame as her stomach made an even bigger sound.

The man who was selling the buns also saw the weak and little guy who was looking at the buns so eagerly as if he wanted to steal them.

He was just watching from the side to see what he would do. If he tries to steal them, he can catch him easily.

But the little guy didn't even go near his buns, but looked away and was walking away from the shop surprisingly.

The little guy looked like a beggar, but he was surprisingly honest.

When Su Qing's stomach growls even more than before, he also heard this as well.

The old shopkeeper felt bad for the lad, so he called her from behind.

"Listen here, kid!"

Su Qing also heard someone calling her from behind.

When she looked back, she saw the old shopkeeper was waving his hand towards her, seeming to be calling her to go back?

Did he think I stole his bread or something like that?

If so, then she will definitely fall into a bad situation.

She inspected the old man's face to find any malice, but he seemed to be rather normal than being angry.

If he was angry, Su Qing would've been able to tell this right away.

"Are you hungry, lad? What's your name?" the old man asked her with a curious and questioning gaze.
