1 The Golden Reaper | Before the Drift
The universe has housed countless planets, realms, and stars; but now, it houses a new interstellar species. The first humans to explore the stars had the incredible luck the universe has lost. Humanity had attempted interstellar spaceflight before, to no avail. The main issues were related to energy supply/storage and structural integrity under unimaginable stress. The humans had created a way to identify what planet they were on via a numerical system. In this system, Atherra, the name of the humans' home-world, was label as TH-004. The system used the first two letters of the Star System's name followed by the planet's numerical position in the Star System. Once humans had gained the ability to explore the stars, they set their sights on colonization and terraforming. As the minds of countless human scientists slaved away at a seemingly hopeless project, the rest of TH-004 was waging a war over the monopolization of energy supplies by the leading researchers of the Star-sea Project. The government the scientists belonged to was the Atherran Confederation whilst the opposing government was the Ethereal Alliance. Once the Confederation researched the technology for terraforming, they had lost the war; thus, the Confederation decided to leave for the stars. Regaining their place in life, they terraformed the nearest world, TH-001. Even though they successfully accomplished what they had sought after for more than a lifetime, they didn't feel happy or content. After all, they just lost their homes, property, and everything that made them secure. Through the depressing success, the people of the confederation decided to start anew and eventually founded the Star-sea Confederation. In honor of their new government, they decided to take back what they lost. On their journey back to Atherra, they came to discover a desolate world that was once their homes. Stricken with grief, anger, and confusion, the crew aboard the colony vessel Epiphany decided to do what they had already done before. They re-colonized Atherra and made it habitable, contacted the Star-sea Confederation survivors, recreated the governmental structure of the Star-sea Confederation's home-world, and established the planet as a property of the Confederation. This caused many internal struggles as they tried to keep the little order they had. This was the start of the first interstellar government.
Thirty Years Later...
Aboard one Exploration-class vessel was a golden stasis pod. This pod had gone missing during the middle stages of stellar expansion. Thirty years ago, in order to travel from one planet to another, the lifeforms onboard a ship had to be put in stasis. The ship was then regulated by an onboard A.I. until they get close to their destination. Not everything goes the way one would expect. Some of the ships wouldn't arrive at their destination. Inside the pod housed a man who was feared throughout history as the Reaper for wherever he went, death followed. This man had long since been considered dead and eventually forgotten. He who had been drifting for an eternity, was discovered by space merchants, a new profession of sorts. Who knows how long he had been drifting. Through this fateful encounter, the Reaper would discover what a family truly is.
