CHAPTER 1

The people of Apamu were in total confusion. The god of Apamu, Japasa was rulling the village selfishly. He did not care about the indigents of the village. So he passed difficult law on them and he made sure everyone complied to the laws. Anyone who disobeyed the law was killed instantly. He ruled the village as a chief.

One of the laws that Japasa passed in the village was that, any woman who would give birth to twins would have to give the twins to the gods as sacrifice. Japasa in his selfish interest had realized that majority of the women in Apamu village always gave birth to twins. So that was why he passed that law.

He wanted to get more blood than he had been getting. When this law was passed, all the indigents of Apamu protested against it but it was no avail, since Japasa was a god who spoke once, and when he spoke, there was no going back. So the law began to work, and many parents had to give out their children to be sacrificed because they were twins, made the people of Apamu, especially the woman to stop giving birth. It was not because they didn't want to give birth but it was because they feared that they would give birth to twins and be forced to sacrifice them to the god of Apamu Japasa.

Whenever a twin was born, the god of Apamu would make some awful noise throughout the village, symbolize that someone had given birth to twins. Because of this, no mother of parents could hide their twin children when they were born. And on that note, Japasa would go and take the children and use them as sacrifice.
