6 First Soul

"But before hunting, I should change my clothes. I haven't eaten anything as well."

Dreamer was so excited about the system, he forgot to change his bloodied clothes.

He removed his clothes and went to the bathroom, which was just a place with water inside his small house.

In thirty minutes, he finished cleaning his body and stood in front of a mirror.

"I thought I would have gotten more muscular." He touched his non existing biceps and chest. He didn't have a lot of muscles. He thought the system would have changed his physique. Like some heroes.

"I guess it would take some time."

He slipped his hands on his black hair and smiled. He didn't know why he smiled but he did it anyway.

His dad used to tell him that Dreamer was a handsome boy and Dreamer believed him to some extent.

But as he was a forsaken being by the Supreme One, no one bothered with him. Dreamer knew that as well.

However, now that he got the system and Helix, things could take a new turn.

After glancing one last time at the mirror, he wore a blue t-shirt and black trousers and proceeded to make some food.

For food, there was a charity organization called, Food For All.

This organization was established for the people who are unable to earn food on their own. People who can't hunt beasts and don't have legs, eyes or anything of that sort.

To get food from them, people just had to register their names and address to the organization and they would deliver Ducks for free at their home as food.

The organization always sent Ducks as they were easier to catch and they sent enough to not let the people die with hunger.

It wasn't good food but beggars couldn't be choosers.

When Dreamer had his dad with him, he used to get good food daily but after his dad left him, he found out his name and address got registered in the organization. His dad must have done that.

After that day, for ten years straight, he daily received only two ducks per day for food.

His taste buds knew the taste of only two things, Ducks and water. And he wasn't sure about water.

However, his dad taught him how to cook so he didn't have to eat the ducks raw at least.

"I have six of these today. It's the first time I am seeing this many." Dreamer was in the hospital for three days so he ended up with six ducks.

"Anyway, let's finish all of them."

He cooked all six ducks and ate them.

It took him thirty minutes to finish all of them.

'Why did you eat all six?' Helix asked.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

'I mean, you should have kept one or two for emergencies.'

"Heh." Dreamer smiled. "After getting a mythical ring and a system, who would eat that? The bad times are over."

'I see. Good luck then.' Helix said and went silent.

Dreamer nodded. "Since I am going to hunt, I need a weapon of some sort."

He looked around his house and found a metal rod.

"This will do for now. I'll buy a better one later."

He made a mental note and finally left his house.

"So, from what I have heard from other people the forest should be fifteen meters straight. Let's see."

Dreamer knew the beasts would be in the forest but he didn't know where the forest was.

He had never gone too far from his house and his father never told him about beasts as well.

He just heard about the forest being somewhere close to his house.

"Well, fuck it. Let's go."

Dreamer started walking straight as he looked around.

It would be his first time coming far from his house.

He saw no one along the way and this assured him that he was going the right way. To the forest with beasts.

He found a slab of stone in front of him and jumped on it.

The stone was at a height that allowed Dreamer to see the overall area.

"Ah… What a view. Rester city sure is good."

He closed his eyes and inhaled the fresh air of nature.

The place where he lived was called Rester city. It was situated on a planet named Silva.

His father had told him the name of the city and planet. He also told him that many races other than Humans lived among them as well.

Only a few rich people lived in Rester and they were treated like Kings.

Other than Rester, there were other cities on planet Silva as well.

But the biggest city was the Capital city. Dreamer didn't know its name but he knew in the capital city the strongest people lived.

Other than Planet Silva, many more planets were present in the universe.

Some strong people could even take one whole planet for themselves.

Beings like Gods and Demons had many planets under them. They took over many planets over time.

Nevertheless, Dreamer didn't have to worry about that yet. For now, he focused on hunting.

He got down from the stone and walked further in the bushes.

After walking for a few more minutes, Dreamer finally arrived in the forest.

"This looks… grim."

The sun hidden by long trees, the gusts of cold wind, the various purple and black colored plants. All this oozed an eerie atmosphere about the forest.

"I hope my Demon's Luck is active."

Dreamer clenched the metal rod and took one step but stopped the next second.

"Helix," He said. "I don't know how to fight. What if I encounter a beast out of my league?"

'If you encounter a strong beast, you will die but if you stay inside your little house being weak, you will be killed more brutally.

So, just go inside and struggle, if you don't know how to fight, learn it. Nothing grows in fear except fear. Just dive in.' Helix replied.

He advised Dreamer to let go of his fear and it worked.

Dreamer took a deep breath and nodded. "You are right. I am ready."

He held the rod with both hands and stepped deep inside the forest.

He encountered more trees and plants but instead of enjoying the view, Dreamer watched out for an ambush of a beast.

---

After one hour.

"Where did all the beasts go?" Dreamer said.

He sat down below a tree.

He didn't encounter any beasts for all this time. He was being vigilant for nothing.

"Are they even here or not?" Dreamer doubted his location.

"RAAA!"

Dreamer jolted up. "What was that? Did I find one?"

The sound seemed like a roar.

"RAAA!" The roar came again and this time, he made sure to follow it.

He clenched the rod tighter and tiptoed along the way.

He arrived in front of a cave and peeked inside.

"Oh. It was you."

Inside the cave, a beast was lying, bleeding.

"I guess, it's time to use it."

Dreamer darted his eyes on the beast and an interface popped up. God's Eye did its thing.

[ Name : Wild Slavolian Boar ]

[ Race : Pigfolk ]

[ Level : 5 ]

[ Soul Level : 1 ]

"Wild Slavolian Boar. He is Level five but his Soul Level is only one, why is that?" Dreamer asked.

'Training one's soul is a more difficult task than training your body, any ordinary beast or people are unable to make their souls stronger.' Helix replied.

Dreamer nodded. "I see. That's good information."

'Don't waste your time, kid. Kill it before other beasts come here because of the smell.' Helix spoke again. The smell of the Boar's blood was pungent. It could attract other beasts.

Dreamer nodded again. "But Helix, if it is injured then it means someone already harmed him. What if they lured me in with this?"

'That's why kill it fast.' Helix urged.

Dreamer gulped and clenched the metal rod.

He brought it above his head and remained in that position.

'Kill it.' Helix urged again.

Dreamer didn't move.

'Kill it now!' Helix shouted.

Dreamer didn't move.

'Kill the fucking boar, you wimp!'

"Fuck you!"

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

Dreamer did it. He brought down the metal rod and plummeted the Boar's head.

'Good.' Helix praised.

"Yeah. Good for you. I am a killer now." Dreamer never killed. Not an innocent Boar at least.

He stared at the dead Boar. The blood coming out of its head burned his throat.

Helix understood what Dreamer felt so he spoke.

'Don't worry, kid. If you were lying here and groaning in pain and if a beast had seen you, it would have eaten you without a second thought. And look at this…'

Helix paused and a notification rang inside Dreamer's mind.

[ Ding! ]

[ You killed a Wild Slavolian Boar! ]

[ Congratulations on your first kill! ]

[ Additional 50 XP Rewarded! ]

[ Level Up! ]

Dreamer read the notifications and sighed. "I guess, it isn't that bad after all."

He smiled and turned around. But stopped.

"What's this?" A white light was shining on the Boar's body.

'It's the Boar's soul, you can see it because you have the power to snatch it, you can take its soul now. Here…' Helix answered and a window popped up.

[ Do you want to snatch its soul? ]

"Hmm." Dreamer didn't answer right away.

'What happened?' Helix asked.

"I am wondering if I snatch a Boar's soul, do I need to insert this soul in another Boar or I can insert it inside anyone I want?" Dreamer asked a logical thing. If the soul of a Boar went inside a Human, would the Human act like a boar?

'Every soul is the same. Even Gods and Demons have the same souls. You can snatch anyone's soul and insert it to anyone you want. It doesn't matter.'

"That's good. Alright. Yes, I want to snatch its soul." Dreamer answered the system.

[ Make A Keyword For Snatching Souls! ]

"Huh?" The system asked another question.

'It is asking you to make a keyword for snatching souls for the future. After this, you just have to say that keyword and the soul will come to you. It's not that hard.' Helix explained. Dreamer nodded and went deep about the keyword.

"So I am taking someone's soul in my possession, and that soul will become my subordinate. It will be under my rule. Fine…"

Dreamer finished deciding the keyword.

[ Make A Keyword for Snatching Souls ]

With a smile, he said, "SEIZE!"

The white light coming from the Boar came out and went inside Dreamer's chest.

"Woah." A cold sensation ran down on his spine.

He touched his chest. "I can feel it. It's there."

He felt the soul he just snatched and right after that, another notification arrived.

[ Soul Snatched Successfully! ]

[ Skills Inside The Soul : Fire Arrow, Cold Resistance and Leather Skin ]

[ You can only choose 2 skills to absorb! ]

"Oh yeah. Soul Snatcher does this as well. Nice. Anyway, can I get the description of these skills?"

[ No. The description will be given only after choosing. ]

"Huh? No description? Why is that?" It would be nice if Dreamer could read the description of the skills before choosing.

'I don't know. It wasn't me who made this system.' Helix backed off.

"Tch. Fine. Tell me this instead, why can't I choose all three skills?" Dreamer asked a different question.

'You can't absorb all the skills of a soul. You have to let go of some of them. It can't be helped. It's like a rule.' Helix revealed.

Dreamer rolled his eyes. "What an annoying rule."

Helix said nothing and Dreamer gave up as well.

He proceeded to read the name of the skills he could absorb.

"Fire Arrow seems good. Must be an attack skill. Cold Resistance isn't that important yet. Leather Skin is a defense type. I think. Well, absorb Fire Arrow and Leather Skin."

He made the decision and the system instantly did the work.

In five seconds, the notification rang inside Dreamer's head.

[ Skill Absorption Successful! ]

[ Congratulations, you got two new skills : Fire Arrow and Leather Skin ]

[ Fire Arrow (Lv.1) (Upgradeable) : Host can shoot an arrow made by fire up to 5 meters. Distance will increase with each level up of the skill. ]

[ Leather Skin (Lv.1) (Upgradeable) : Host can turn his skin into leather and can make your defense stronger for 5 minutes. Duration will increase with each level up of the skill. ]

Dreamer read the description carefully and nodded. "I was right about the skills. Good. I can level them up by Skill Points right?"

'You can.'

"I'll think about it later. I have to consider my Mana as well. I can't use these very often because of it." Dreamer had very little Mana at the moment.

'You can add Stat Points in Intelligence to increase your Mana.' Helix spoke.

Dreamer nodded. "I know that. I'll do that at home. For now, let's go. I can't wait to taste something else today."

Dreamer touched the Boar, grinning broadly. He gulped the saliva. He forgot about the smell of the blood and the crushed head of the Boar. His focus was food only.

He lifted the boar on his back and he did on his first try.

"This Boar isn't that heavy. It must be a child or something."

Adjusting the boar a little, Dreamer finally walked towards his house.

"It's already evening. It's good though."

He found no one on his way to his home probably because of the evening and not like there were people around his house in the morning.

After thirty minutes, Dreamer finally arrived at his home.

Placing the Boar on the floor, he hopped on the bed.

"Haah." Dreamer let out a content sigh.

"I'll cancel my name from the organization tomorrow. I'll eat what I want now."

He couldn't stop smiling, thinking about various things made his heart flutter.

As he was thinking, a familiar sound rang inside his mind again.
