"Were you expecting something different hehe~" Sarah giggled at Kai's reaction. She couldn't help but tease him.

"N-o" Kai, ashamed of his own thoughts lowered his head.

'Ahhh that's so cute' Sarah couldn't help but think of it as so. Kai looked similar to her body's age and it was fun teasing him. Though technically her mental age is greater than Kai's because of her previous life. She wasn't that old back on earth.

'I still remember the hardships I faced studying for that board exam, and the universe just decided to put me in a fantasy world! You could have done it earlier you know.'

Sarah felt a little sorry for teasing Kai, he still had his head down.

She got closer to Kai wearing a towel around her to cover her body. She nudged him on the shoulder.

"I'm sorry for teasing you a little too much Kai." Sarah said in a light-hearted tone.

Kai still had his head lowered, not even bothering to respond.

Sarah thought that she really went too far.

"I'm really sorry, I couldn't help but tease you when you're so adorable" Adorable might have been an understatement though Kai is of the same age as her nobody in their right mind would think adorable when they Kai.

Kai still did not respond instead he clutched his body together as if he was hiding something.

Sarah perplexed followed where he was looking and she couldn't help but gulp.

'Now that isn't kid-friendly, I forgot this body is any teenage boy's wet dream'

Sarah didn't even consider the part that they were both alone in a spring miles away from any people, nothing but a ragged towel covering each other.

'Should I push?' Sarah pondered before speaking up.

"You know I grew up like a fragile flower in a greenhouse. Protected from the outside world, well that's what everybody said. But in reality, I was trapped, unable to live the life I wanted."

Sarah spoke raising her head on the beautiful scenery of the sky.

"I don't blame my parents though, I had a special condition and I was fragile not only in the mind but the body as well. But I wasn't stupid, I had an idea of what was happening to me, to the house."

Kai's shoulders relaxed a little.

"I couldn't do anything then, but now and the future, it will be different. I'll do everything I can to do whatever I want till I drop dead smiling." Sarah said in a tone full of confidence and aspiration.

"I won't let you die!" Kai quickly reacted fiercely, facing Sarah. "I will never let that happen."

"I know Kai. Therefore, are you willing to be with me for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, with all the wrongs and right?"

"I do!" Kai said strongly.

"Are you sure? I might fail your expectation someday Kai." Sarah held onto both of Kai's hands.

"That will not happen." Kai blushed a little at the unexpected skinship.

"I am not a good person Kai, I am very greedy." Sarah said seriously, the atmosphere around her grew colder. But unlike before Kai can feel warmth spreading through his body.

"It does not matter, as long as master is happy I will be more than satisfied." Kai truly believed this, firmly stating his thoughts.

'Got you!' Sarah couldn't help but smile inwardly, she never trusted Kai to begin with in actuality she never trusted anyone, to begin with.

It was never in her personality to give 100% of her trust to anybody, she knew well enough how whimsical people can be. Nobody in their right mind would prioritize the self-interest of other people over their own.

'I do not need empty promises, but leverage to assure my own victory'

And as she expected the thin string connecting Sarah and Kai grew enough to be considered a rope. But it was not fully there yet and she knew what she had to do to push him to a very loyal slav- I mean companion.

"Kai, I appreciate your honesty," Sarah said warmly, showing off a beautiful yet gentle smile.

Kai dazed by the beauty he just saw wished to engrave that image into his mind.

"I really like honest people, but liars are the worst kind of people in the world. I especially hate it when anybody lies to me." The beautiful smile on Sarah's face still remained but the gentle feeling was gone.

Kai felt like the moment he uttered the wrong words he would experience something far worse than all of the hell-like life he had lived.

"You're the only one I have now Kai, I'm happy to know I can TRUST you," Sarah emphasized the trust part predicting that it was good enough to push him.

Just like her prediction she got the reaction she wanted.

"Maste-r...I have something to sa-y." If Kai was stuttering a while ago out of empressement he was now stuttering out of fear.

Fear that Sarah might throw him away if she knew that he was not very truthful to her, he wanted to hide it. Hide the fact that he was not telling the truth, maybe just maybe she would never know about it and they could live a happy life together.

Sarah felt the hesitation she knew she had to give the last push.

"As long as you're honest with me and have my best interest at heart I'm willing to listen."

Sarah held Kai's hands tighter indicating that she is here to hear what he has to say.

"It all started with-" Kai told the story of how he was in a slave market and his meeting with the noble that assigned him and the maids to this castle. The task that he had to do and the things he wished he never did but was unable to do so because of the slave contract.

Sarah listened diligently not showing any reaction at all, her facial features stayed monotoned.

Even when she was brought up in the story, Kai was worried but he continued with the story until it ended.

"I'm sorry master" Kai couldn't look into Sarah's eyes, he felt like digging a hole.

He waited for Sarah to respond but she didn't. An awkward silence enveloped the atmosphere for a couple of seconds.

Kai can feel his own heart beating to the sounds of seconds that pass by.

And after a while Sarah opened her mouth.

"I see." Sarah said in a dull tone, as if all the things that Kai said were not related to her in any way.

Those two words echoed in Kai's mind, he expected her to be angry, to throw a fit, how could she not? What he did was despicable.

But she didn't, all she said were two words, two words that had more impact on him than he expected.

He was about to open his mouth when he was caught off.

"You must have had it hard Kai."

This was not the reaction he was thinking of, not in a million years would he have thought that she would comfort him for his awful actions.

"Thank you for being honest." Sarah walked away on the side of the spring.

Their conversation was long enough to dry out the clothes, she wore them elegantly without showing anything off.

Kai thought that this reaction was worse than her throwing a fit, he did not know what to say or what to do.

'I expected some of it, but that piece of sh*t of an uncle really is something.'

"Kai, let's begin our journey, together"

Kai was surprised at first he couldn't understand what was going on in the mind of his Master.

"Yes, Master!"

"Bu-t um, where are we going to start?" Kai asked curiously, unbeknown to him Sarah has a particular memory that can help them greatly.

"Just follow me."

Inside the abandoned castle, Sarah walked around the halls alongside Kai.

Sarah confidently walked around the castle as if she knew exactly where she was going.

Kai had somewhat explored the castle before. Whenever the maids would leave him be he would have time for himself. With nothing else to he couldn't help but explore this castle.

Every new area that Sarah passes by, a mirage of memories of her experience appears.

She might have been a bird in a cage, a flower in a flower garden. Or whatever other metaphor one can use. Undeniably she was loved. Sarah knew this as well.

Like a ghost, the memories of her running around the halls, or playing with her nanny appear before her.

She saw the past of the people who lived in this castle with her.

At the far end of the hall, a simple-looking door can be seen. It was not as fancy as the other doors but it was the most important room within this castle.

Sarah opened the door, It was the office of her parents.

This was where she had the fondest memories.

Like an illusion, she could see multiple versions of herself across the room.

Varying ages, playing in different areas, but unlike Sarah one person did not move at all from these memories.

A handsome man with a bit of feminine features sat on the desk in the middle of the room behind the glass window. Though he's face was a bit feminine he had an imposing aura around him.

He looked like a beautiful tyrant but contradicting his appearance his eyes were warm.

The man's eyes would follow the illusion of Sarah around tenderly. It was apparent that the man loved her.

Sarah walked forward passing by all the mirages of her, some even passing through her.

Some were running around, while the others were reading a book giggling. One of them had a ladder to the father clock in the room while another was gazing at the window view.

She paid it no mind, sometimes casually gazing at those memories but her eyes always came back to the man on the chair.

"Father" Sarah uttered.

The man sitting on the chair was a mere illusion created by her mind yet the moment Sarah called out to him the man sitting on the chair looked at Sarah in the eyes.

The warmth in his eyes cannot be seen, instead, it was replaced with guilt. It is as if her actual father was there looking at her.

Sarah was taken aback by her father's eyes, She knew it was a lie but she couldn't help but feel emotional seeing him. The contradiction of her past and present self clashed in her mind. She was emotional as the woman named Sarah but her past self couldn't help but scorn at that gaze. It was the gaze of a man that kept her in a cage, and although she understood their reason it still did not justify the actions of these people because, in the end, they were not able to protect her.

She was left in the world alone, and if she was never placed inside the body of Sarah she knew that it would have only taken a while before she would have died.

'I am me, I am Sarah, we are one' Sarah knew it was illogical of her to still think separately. She was not a spectator in the memories she received, she lived them as her own.

Sarah got closer to the man, and when she was only a few inches away the man worded with his mouth three simple words.

'I...Love...You'

Like the illusion it was the mirages of herself disappeared alongside her father. The once lively office returned to what it was, nothing more than an abandoned office.

"Ugh"

"Master are you okay?!" Kai supported Sarah, he did not know what had happened he thought that his master was reminiscing about her past but she suddenly looked weak.

"I'm okay, Kai" Sarah held her head for a while and walked toward where the Father clock was. All of the furniture in the office was taken except for this father clock.

"Because it's broken" Sarah looked at the father clock that was twice her height.

"Kai push the father clock that it shows its behind."

Kai walked to the side and started pushing but he couldn't, or more so he could but he had to show that side of him.

"Use your ability Kai," Sarah said without looking at him, her gaze fixated on the handle of the Father clock.

'Was she awake?!' Kai was taken aback by how her master knew but he was sure she was unconscious at that time.

"I can not control it, master." Kai said without questioning Sarah.

"Then, only use it on your arms and hands."

Kai felt like he had an epiphany he still did not know his power but he felt like he could do what his master told him.

Kai's darkish brown skin gradually turned into black fur his arms grew bigger and his hands turned into paws. But unlike what he had hoped for his legs became furry and his head was slowly transforming. He tried to control it but it was difficult for him to only transform specific parts of his body.

'I'm losing consciousness.' Kai struggled, he was not the most mentally adept, but his instincts were telling him to control himself fully but before he could entirely lose focus a goldish-pink light emitted behind him.

'He panicked since it looked similar to what happened to his master before'

"Focus on your task Kai" When he heard this he felt relieved, realising that the light may have been similar but it was not as bright.

Within a few seconds, the heavy father clock was moved it created indents on the floor but they achieved their goal.

Kai wasn't going to ask but he was still concerned by that light, his master might faint again.

Feeling that Kai was curious Sarah explained it herself

"I gave you a blessing, though it is only temporary and it depends on the will of the person I am giving the blessing to."

Kai did not ask anymore, he was not fully satisfied but he knew it was his own greed.

Sarah inspected the back of the Father clock, grazing her hands on the wood-like texture. it was rough but straight except for a small indent she felt on her finger tips.

"This is it." Sarah said excitedly hoping that her memories did not betray her.
