The Glitch in the System: A Level-less Rebellion

In a world that has been transformed into a game system, thanks to a man's discovery of a genie lamp. The man's three wishes were to have the world be just like a game, for him to instantly be max level, and for all genies to die. The world is now divided into different castes based on people's levels, and the protagonist is a lowly level one who resents the game system. One day, the protagonist sees the strongest man in the world, and the world glitches around him like he's starting to break through the game system itself. This inspires the protagonist to believe that maybe there's a way to destroy the game system and create a better world. He sets out on a quest to become stronger and challenge the game system, even as society looks down on him for being level one. Along the way, the protagonist meets other characters who are also unhappy with the game system and want to see change. They band together to fight against the system and work towards creating a fairer world for everyone, regardless of their level.

A BIGGER QUEST

(This chapter won't be from Leon's perspective. I'll right it in the third person viewpoint). (So keep that in mind). (Have fun).

Outside of a tent, there were 4 warriors all dressed in incredibly well-crafted armor. They were circling a fire. They were singing, having a great time.

They had just come from a scouting mission. They could finally go back to their country and see their family.

They only needed to relay what they had found out about the French martial positions. The hardest part of their mission was over.

The fire flicked. It seemed to considerably die down.

The captain, John, looked around him. He didn't see any enemies. That fact didn't seem to calm his nerves.

He had heard a lot of rumors about something.

Something not quite human going around and killing the English. Somehow nobody knew if it was a myth or reality.

At that moment, John understood that it wasn't a myth. It was terribly real.

All of his men were on guard. They took their weapons in hand and were ready to fight whatever would come in front of them.

- For Britain, For the glory of King Edward! If it has to come to this we will die for our country!

- Yes, Captain!

- Yes, Captain!

- Yes, Captain!

Before they could finish, Henry was already dead. His throat was sliced without him having a chance to block the attack.

This was much worse than anything they had ever faced. They all felt it deep inside their bones. Their instincts were telling them that they had just been caught in the trap of a beast. An incredibly scary beast.

John never had in his life sweated that much. He was wet all over his body. At least, this is what he thought.

It wasn't sweat, he was getting wet from a small layer of mist.

Before John could gather the remaining 2 knights to fight together in position they were already killed.

It was terrifying. He saw it. He saw the demon that killed all of his friends.

It looked like a normal man. The man wasn't wearing armor. He was only wearing a black ensemble. To make him blend with the darkness.

The other thing that John remarked about the man was the fact that he didn't look like he had a left arm. His clothes had a left sleeved but it was empty.

All of his men were killed by a one-handed demon.

He followed the shadow of the man.

He started to understand the movement of the man. He jumped to try and kill the demon.

He was too slow. The one-armed man had already sliced his throat.

- All of this for 1000 experience points. The knights are getting too weak.

This might seem like a psychopathic way of reacting after killing 4 humans. But it actually wasn't.

The thing was, that aldo they felt alive the knight weren't. They were measly magical projections created by the castle.

Achilles' castle contained 4 floors. The first one was a floor for living. This is where Leon had a room and everything else. The other 3 floors were magical projections of a historical period. Each floor had a different one.

The second floor was about the 100-year war between the French and the English.

It wasn't some sort of weak magical projection. This was top-of-the-line. Everything felt like it would in real life. In a way, the 2nd floor contained an entire parallel universe.

Leon had been grinding the second floor for over 11 months.

His level had grown considerably. He was now over level 50. He had found some equipment but nothing too special yet.

It was alright to him because Achilles told him that every floor contained a piece of special equipment.

The 100-year war period wasn't chosen by accident. It was the time when Joan of Arc lived. A powerful warrior with an even more powerful sword.

It was the goal of Leon. Finding her sword.

He still hadn't found a single clue about where the sword was. None.

This wasn't supposed to be an easy task. Yet, it was much harder than he anticipated.

He was summoned at the start of the war. Joan of Arc hadn't been born yet.

The way Joan of Arc found the sword was lost to time.

For Leon, to find the sword he would have to recreate the achievements that led to Joan of Arc finding the sword.

He couldn't just go to her and steal the sword. He had to earn it.

Another thing that was complicating his search, was a timer.

When he entered the floor he got a timed quest.

THE PLAYER NEEDS TO CLEAR THE 100-YEAR WAR IN A YEAR. ONLY THIS ACHIEVEMENT WOULD UNLOCK THE 3rd FLOOR. THE PLAYER HAS ONLY ONE TRY.

Achilles had told him about the weapon to find on each floor but it was only a bonus mission. The real quest was to complete the floor quests. To end the 100-year conflict.

Leon was on the winning side for now. He knew that in history the French won the war but he also knew they won it in about a century.

He had to make it much faster. This is why he wanted to find the sword. If he could find it, maybe he could finish the floor in the time necessary.

He was staying close to the city where Joan of Arc would be born. It was the best bet as to the place where the sword could be hidden.

Already he had combed every single centimeter in the forest surrounding the city.

With only a month left in his quest, he would have to give up on trying to find the sword.

Only one month was left to end a century-long conflict. It wasn't enough.

- I'll have to give up on my personal glory. It's a shame to let go of such a unique weapon. But this is what I have to do for France. I'll win this war.

Leon had unlocked the positions of the sword. Joan of Arc didn't get it by finding it. The sword found her. The sword decided she was worthy.

This was in no way a normal sword. It contained the spirit of France itself. This was a legacy weapon. It had been the weapon that Clovis 1 used to grow to the rank of the first king of France. Where he ascends from a mere mortal to a legend.

The sword had deemed Leon worthy of its legacy.

The sword could speak inside of the chosen head. It didn't need to say a lot. But what it said changed the difficulty of the quest.

"Come to me, my child".
