"Don't cry.."

Lyn: Huh..?

Hesitantly, Devon used his hand to wipe the tears that were threatening to fall from Lyn's eyes.

"..Actually, I was just kidding..

I didn't think that the curse of yours is true since it sounded ridiculous and that it was made up as you didn't actually want me to know your secret.." Devon explained.

Wow, I actually shed soo much tears..for a joke?!

Lyn did not know whether to feel angry or relieved;

angry that she cried for a joke, relieved that the curse did not work and Lyn did not lose Devon

"You jerk! I actually thought that my curse worked and that you'd forget about me!" Lyn sobbed even harder, punching him hard in his chests

She wanted him to experience just a little of the pain her heart felt when she thought that she'll lose Devon.

"...sorry" that's all Devon managed to say as he allowed Lyn to hit his chest, no letting a sound out even if it hurts.

Really?! I held back so much of my tears for a joke and all you say is just a sorry?

As angry as Lyn may be, she soon stopped punching Devon's chest for fear that he would be in pain, and when he is in pain, Lyn will somehow feel pain too, although she had no idea why.

"Sorry is not enough! You must make up to me!"

"...Fine. What do you want?" Devon asked with caution,

for he remembered the time when he allowed Lyn to make any request and ended up, forcing him to almost confess his love for Greggy's hair when he actually hated it and can't stand the sight of her hair.

"Just promise me that you will never ever forget about me, okay? ...Even if my curse worked, you must remember me!" Lyn said it with a sense of fear and insecurity.

Knowing that he held an important place in her heart, Devon was happy and touched. After all, just how long ago did someone actually not want to lose him genuinely? People that got close to him were usually those that are after his family's fortune, money-minded and realistic. After being hurt and betrayed many times, Devon got used to the dark side of humanity and forget about the goodness in humanity. At least, not until he met Lyn.

Even if the whole world betrayed him, he knew that Lyn wouldn't.

Even if no one shed real tears for him, he knew that Lyn would.

Even if Lyn did not request this, Devon made it his mission to remember Lyn forever.

"Promise." Upon saying that, Devon used actions to prove his words - he hooked his pinky with Lyn's, sealing the promise with their thumbs.

Of course, that was only enough to assure Lyn but not keep the promise.

When he got home after school, he immediately wrote a diary about how close he and Lyn are, her personal information, her curse etc. He even saved her contacts as Lyn with a heart 'Lyn <3'.

The diary goes like this..

Date: 18/03/18, Monday

I'm writing this for myself if I somehow lost my memory about Lyn one day. She is very pretty, smart, kind and likes dogs , someone I can never forget, not just because I promised her so, but also because I promised myself too...

*A/N: (I'll skip the part where they first met and were not close.)

..The first time she went my house and saw Ken, she paid all her attention on Ken and never even bother looking for me. I was a little upset that a dog had more attention than me, so I shot Ken a 'go upstairs' look and he understood immediately. Maybe that's the first time I started wanting to be closer than classmates, for I actually ate beyond my limit just to eat with her, who came without having lunch. I even cooked for her and forget about the loneliness I felt at home when I spent time with her. Although she made me had a stomachache the next day, it was worth it just to feel that bit of warmth at home again, even if its just for a short while. I thought that maybe only I would think that the things we shared are special, till the time we played truth and dare. She said that she had a secret - she have a curse with boys and when she gets too close to a boy, the boy will just forget about the memories they had together and become a stranger. You'd probably not believe her curse for I did not believe it either when she said it. It was only when I acted like I was cursed with her curse and saw her crying (for thinking that her curse caused her to lose me) did I realised, what I thought was one-sided, was actually mutual. We both cherished our times together and don't wanna lose each other so she made me promised not to forget her, which is sorta the reason for this diary to exist. I will also help her to lift this curse if possible, if not, just live with her curse.

[Devon: still up? If yes can tell me, how close must you be with boys for your curse to work? Just wanna see if there's a way to cure ur curse]

wow, so straight to the point yet so thoughtful. Lyn thought, her heart can't help but skipped a beat as she read his text again in her head

[Devon: Nvm, let's just see how close it takes for us to be to make the curse activate.] Devon replied almost immediately.

[uhh..okay..] Although Lyn did not know what Devon was up to, she trusted him fully.

Yet, her face still blushed red when she read his message
