Akpan went down to the pavement leading to the Cemetery,he had just been stood up by Kate (a second date or maybe none).He had promised to take Kate out for dinner but arrived late.Kate had dressed up waiting for him for two hour without his coming.after she had changed to her casual wear she saw him coming clearly stressed out.
"dear me"he began "im sorry for....."
;she raised up her hand signaling for him to stop,her eyes moistened by tears
"how much more Akpan ...."
she spoke gently but with a tear choked voice"dont u love me...im sorry i cant go out with you any more"she then shut the door against him. He was a thin and tall fellow who worked at the state archaeological museum. Then It Suddenly Hit Him Real Hard He Was At Plutino.The Very Heart Of It The Very Thought Of This Ran Fear aNd Shiver Alongside Curiosity Into His Spine.An Ancient Place Of Spells,magic Nd Sorcery,just The Mention Of It Ran Fear Into People.It Was Due To This That Ancient Kings Forbade Their Subject From Going There,not To Even Think Or Talk Abt It,a Fear Which Affected Even Present Leaders.Some Military Head Of State Had Tried To Go Against That Fear, Sending Armed Men And Workers Into There To Start Construction Of A Linking Road Network A Dream Which Never Sailed Through Andthose Men Never Heard From Again Nd Wat Happened To Them Remaind A MysteryWith All This Mystery Surounding It The Military Government Of The 1973 Ordered An Immediate Construction Of A High Iron Fence With The Capability Of Electricution Round It And Ordered That A Cemetery Be Built At It Front Inorder To Deter People,but The People Were Already Detered Even Without Those measures.
Akpan Looked Back aNd Discovered The Gates Were Open.He Searched In His Mind Trying To Recolect When The Government Had Ordered The Gates To Be Open.With no light in his path he finaly gave up thinking abt it.With The Fear In Him He Turn To Go But He Was Drawn Back By Curiosity to A Queer Object.He Knelt Examining It Closer And Was Struck By An Insciption There.When Curiosity Wane The Fear Of The Unknown Returned. Feeling The Weight Of His Loneliness And Fear He Sought For The Comfort Of His Appartment And Of His Confidant Little Pup.
