  THE GAMER CHAPTER 1

Jihan H: I remember the so-called NETIZEN fellows who loved playing games saying this. How great would it be if life was a game! What if levels were showing above my head? What if there were experience points and we could set our status as we want. Well, to tell you the truth, if you ask me if it is really good, I would answer like this. No, not at all.

Seonil: Hey. What's with the serious face?

Jihan H: This is my old friend Seonil; He learned taekwondo and some Korean Martial Arts at the same time which is impressive, and he won a gold medal at his Junior championship. Thanks to that, he doesn´t have to worry about getting into a college. I heard it was some sort of special admission. Besides, there's this thing written above his head.

Jihan H: Something weird is going on today, because I´ve been seeing people's information, as a game status. What has happened to me? Why did the world change like a game? My name is Jihan H, a poor guy who got this weird power called <THE GAMER>. 

Jihan H: It´s been three days since I got this weird power and it's been getting weirder ever since because today a screen popped up in front of me. It's called a mission alert screen, which usually appears only in video games. But even though this is reality, I see this screen every day. Today was different because I got a quest mission; it appeared right after my mom gave me an errand.

Mom: Jihan, go get some TOFU.

QUEST ALERT!

TASK FROM MOM: Go get some TOFU!

[QUEST DETAIL: The <GAMER´S> mom wants TOFU for cooking. Let's be quick and get her some TOFU!]

TIME LIMIT: 1 Hour

REWARD: +500 EXP / Increase of affection with mom.

FAIL PENALTY: Nagging mom / Decrease of mom´s faith in you.

Jihan H: The quest was to go out and buy her some TOFU. Since I was going to do it, I decided to accept the mission quest alert.

Jihan H: This is so weird! I can never get used to this.

Mom: Jihan!

Jihan H: I'm going! Is TOFU all you need?

Mom: Yes. Be quick.

Jihan H: Alright! I wondered while answering. How did this happen to me?

    (A few days ago, my level went up by solving a quest. I raised points for STR/ strength and I really did get stronger)

(What's all this? Why am I like a real game character? I asked myself this question many times, but I still can't find the answer. But one thing I know for sure is, I've got some weird power. )

Jihan H: Pop up for everything.

(I'm doubting whether or nor am living in a normal world. Is this really reality? Well, I just feel like…. Whatever.)

(The funny thing is, in a game you gain EXP by killing monsters. But not here! It's odd, but I get EXP by action and quest only. For example, if I work out my EXP increases little by little, and if I study, it also increases little by little. But it's really hard to increase the level.)

(It's been a while since I've noticed  this ability. But I've only gained one level, and with that level up I increased STR, but now that I think about it, that was a bit stupid. Frankly speaking, do you need strength in modern society? Wouldn't I get smarter if I increase my intelligence /INT?)

Jihan H: I'm back.

Mom: Give here.

Jihan H: ( Jeongsook Han, she's my mom. She's about 40 now. But for some reason, her appearance is around mid 20s. And I don't know why, but everything is shown in question marks except her name.)

( I wonder if my mom is special too..)

Jihan H: Mom, is it soybean paste stew today?

Mom: Yes. Is there something else that you want? I'm almost done, wait there.

Jihan H: What about dad? 

Mom: He said he'll have dinner on his own.

Jihan H: Thank you for the meal, mom.

Mom: Did you finish your homework?

Jihan H: Not yet, but I'm about to finish it. Thanks for the meal, I'm done.

Mom: Wait.

Jihan H: What is it?

Mom: Do the dishes?

(If someone asks me what life is, I'll tell them it's about doing homeworks and tasks. Why?)

Jihan H: There's so much homework.

Jihan H: Fwhhh!! I'm finally done.

(The truth is, I'm not really good at studying. I don't really know if I'll do well on the S.A.T. even if I study like this. It's actually the quest that made me work hard to finish my homework. If I hand this in to the math teacher, I'll get some EXP) 

(From now on, I should focus on my INT / intelligence, then solving math problems will be a lot easier.)

Jihan H: Anyway, now that I'm done with homework, I'll spend some time playing games..)
