12 Out of mana

As soon as he returned to the room where he used the crests, Roy stopped to take a break and to grab his combat knife. He was still low on mana, and one of the most troublesome enemies of the game was about to show up…

"My strength and speed increased a fair bit thanks to the title… I can do this," Roy said, and then he opened the door.

In front of him, Roy saw a green creature walking on two legs. It looked like a mix of a frog and some reptile. It was a hunter… extremely fast and able to behad people with its four claws.

Hunter - Lv 03

An extremely powerful creature with claws on all four limbs and the ability to jump several meters in the air. Encountered later on in the game, these creatures replace the zombie as being the most common enemy, but thankfully for a limited time only.

These frog-like creatures are very dangerous; they have two different forms of attack. They either swipe at your legs or jump and slash at your torso, which, if they're close enough, could go right over your head and result in decapitation.

Observe worked a little more than usual, but Roy ignored that. The beast charged at him with a fearsome speed and jumped, already ready to swing its claws at his neck. Still, Roy waited until the last moment to use a single Spinning Mana Arrow at the head of the beast.

The spell pierced the skin deeply of the creature, and a lot of blood gushed from the wound. Before the beast could get up, Roy jumped on it and made his Combat Knive pierce the wound even further. The beast screamed in agony and trembled all over until he spun the weapon, and that made it reach the brain of the creature.

"Phew… this was intense," Roy thought and then got up. "At this point in time, it can't be helped that I am going to get dirty with blood all over."

Although Roy wasn't that tired, he sweated quite a bit. He needed a shower, and the smell of blood and death around him wasn't helping… speaking of which, he wondered if the zombies' appearances were messing with his stomach since he didn't feel hungry since he woke up.

Roy entered the room in front of him, which looked like a common office, and grabbed a red book. He headed toward the room where he got the herbicide, and then he found another hunter blocking his path, and the creature was already almost hitting him with its claws. Without any other choice, Roy used two Mana Spinning Arrows on the forehead of the beast and then killed it instantly. He dashed toward the room and then found some acid rounds for the grenade launcher.

"I am out of mana… should I meditate here or use the rounds to fight the next hunters?"

Taking his time would make the enemies stronger… Roy didn't believe that he could buy any useful weapons. Firearms would practically eat his money, after all with each shot.

It seemed that his best option was to go for melee fighting… he didn't think that he made the wrong choice by following the mage's build, but now he didn't have any other option. In the end, Roy bought two combat knives and then readied himself after taking a deep breath.

"My strength and agility doubled, I can do this. No problem," Roy said and then left the room and then climbed the stairs nearby.

As soon as he reached the second floor, he turned to the side and saw a hunter standing still with it's back against him. While his heart was racing, Roy silently approached. He didn't even breath since he imagined that such a thing alone would be enough to make the beast notice his presence… fortunately, that never happened and Roy hit the nape of the creature with both knives.

The beast grunted in pain and tried to resist, but soon it stopped moving and fell dead after a short while. Roy sighed in relief again… maybe being stealthy suited him.

"Maybe killing the tyrant with the knives alone isn't impossible, lol," Roy thought and then shrugged.

After moving ahead, Roy found a blue door and then when he entered a weirdly empty room, he found a red door on the side. He entered that place after using the key he just got and then touched a piano on the corner. He looked to the side and saw a fireplace… the anaconda was supposed to appear from there, but he already killed it. So, nothing happened.

All of a sudden, the floor below him cracked and then he fell on a hole… he had forgotten about that hole… regardless, a fall of that level didn't hurt him at all and Roy found some metallic stairs behind. He didn't hesitate in going down.

"This place is a lot worse when I know that I am all alone with the zombies… the atmosphere is quite nerve-wracking…" Roy furrowed his eyebrows.

Roy found himself in a new area of the mansion. It resembled a bit to the place below the garden, but the smell was a lot worse… after taking a few steps in, he found three zombies in a very dirty kitchen and they quickly approached him… Still, Roy made easy work out of them with his two knives. Stabbing two of them at the same time and kicking the last one to gain time.
