14 Hairy Spider

After crossing the dark tunnel, Roy crossed another door. Then he found the corpse of another bravo team member… that one only had another clank with him, and Roy grabbed it as well and returned to the previous room.

Once he reached the area with the iron staircase again, Roy almost had a heart attack when a hunter jumped on his neck… out of reflex, he used Spinning Mana Arrow. He hit the head of the beast, but the creature still hit his left arm with a powerful slash attack.

Roy reached in pain, but that didn't stop him from lashing forward and stabbing the head of the beast with his two knives.

"Even with my increased agility… I guess I need to improve even further," Roy thought and then sighed. "I am trying to save Mana as well, just in case something unexpected happens, but I guess this is too much."

Instead of increasing his agility, keeping increasing his Wisdom might also be a good idea. Still, Roy decided to make his Agility reach at least twenty points. That will be necessary against the Tyrant. Hunters will be more common than zombies as well, so that idea seemed better.

The more he thought about it, the more uncertain Roy felt… he would need more Wisdom to level up his magic, but for now, he had the grenade launcher and ten rounds of different types. He didn't need mana that much yet.

Roy followed his path in the opposite direction of the tunnels until he reached a weird area where the walls were standing inclined to the side and preventing the passage. However, there was a machine on the side where Roy used his clank to make the walls move almost 360 degrees.

After crossing that area and another door, Roy sighed when he saw a boulder… even that didn't change. Roy approached while walking backward and looking over his shoulder… until the boulder began to move. He dashed to his starting point, and then the boulder passed by him and hit another wall.

The wall broke, revealing a new passage and a hunter as well. When the beast jumped at him, Roy moved to the side and thrust his knives forward as well. The weapons pierced the monster's stomach, making it flinch in pain. It gave Roy more than enough time to pull them out and target the head.

"You can't get me when I know you see coming…" Roy said and then equipped his grenade launcher.

Roy knew what would come next, but he still couldn't face it with his knives alone. He opened the nearest door and then saw a massive hairy spider that was brown and yellow.

Roy used the grenade launcher, and much to his surprise, he had to shoot two times to kill it. Even though it gave him less money…

"I don't get it, but I guess something like this was bound to happen…" Roy looked behind the corpse, and he saw a door covered with spider webs.

Roy cut the webs with his knives and then moved to the other side of it. Only to see another boulder and another set of the wall that could rotate. This time, he used both clanks to reveal the right position of a secret door.

Once he approached the boulder, it began to roll toward him, but he escaped to the door that was just revealed. Inside it, another bronze statue was found and moved to the side of the wall and then to the middle of the room. Where it stopped right above a switch on the ground. A small compartment was revealed on the wall, showing him a blue book.

"I guess my patience is being tested here… this game is a bit hard because of the puzzles and not because of the action," Roy thought once he left the room. "Maybe my head is being tested. In any case, my being someone that played this game before is probably a coincidence at this point. Since all this is pointless when I know all the secrets."

Roy turned left where the boulder came from and found another MO disk in another bronze statue. He returned to the start of that area and then found an elevator beyond the entrance of the sector. Once he went up, he found a large fountain filled with dirty water and two panels. On the sides… he opened the books and then found a gold and a silver medal and put them on the panels. The water was drained, revealing a staircase of stone in the place of the water.
