Chapter 7 – Dungeon

Raito sat on the couch, arms sprawled out, staring blankly at the ceiling.

"Just, why?" Raito closed his eyes, deep in thought. "Did I do something?"

He had revealed the 'Inventory,' but it seemed to be just like any other storage seal, with a few minor differences. There was also that dungeon thing, but it had been done inside the house with the seals activated

"Raito, coming?" Naruto walked in, grabbed a couple of bento boxes from the table, and stuffed them inside his small bag before shouting. "Let's go."

"Sorry, sorry." Raito jumped off the couch and stretched his stiff body, "Let's go."

Just as Raito walked out, two Naruto clones jumped on him from above, but Raito was ready for it with his '[Chakra Sense]'. Dodging the two clones, Raito threw two pebbles at them, hitting them easily, and they vanished in a puff of chakra smoke.

Taking his time, Raito emerged from the chakra smoke fully equipped and ready.

Naruto looked at Raito mischievously and said, "Raito, if you can tag me, you win."

Raito, expecting a few rounds of combat, was taken aback. He gazed at Naruto in confusion and asked, "Really? Just that?"

"Yeah," Naruto raised his fist in confidence.

Raito glanced at the clones and smiled, "How about we make this more interesting? If I catch you, the original, you'll have to clean the house for a whole week. What do you say?"

"Yea, sure, but if you lose, we'll… no, you will clean the house." Naruto raised his head and looked at Raito.

Raito glared and added, "… for a week,"

Naruto made a cross hand seal and activated his chakra. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Just as Raito was about to dash and catch Naruto, the whole of backyard was packed with yellow-haired Naruto.

Raito's eyes widened in shock and amazement as he looked at the numerous Naruto clones. "It's really unfair," he muttered, a mix of envy and admiration coursing through him. Naruto was practically a one-man army with this jutsu. Sure, there were some drawbacks to using it, but the sheer number of clones made it difficult for Raito to single out the real Naruto.

"Are you serious?" Raito said, his voice filled with irritation. It was not that he couldn't find the real one, but the time it takes to just sieve through is just too much.

Raito began running towards where the original was at the beginning.

"We need a time limit," one of the clones near Raito chimed in, and the others nodded in agreement.

"If there's no time limit, we're definitely going to lose," another clone added. "And we don't want to lose."

Raito paused, his eyes scanning the sea of clones before him, then remarked with a hint of amusement, "But what about you? You have over a hundred people on your side."

"So, what's your point?" Naruto asked, his voice laced with curiosity and a hint of defiance. It was his advantage and he knew he had to protect it.

Raito smiled, a sly grin spreading across his face, and retorted, "You all can't move."

"No way." Naruto exclaimed, disbelief evident in his tone. That wasn't just a disadvantage, it was a game end.

"Then there is no time limit." Raito snorted, looking away with a dismissive wave of his hand. "You have hundred on your side but still…"

Naruto glanced at his clones, then back at Raito, and suggested with a mischievous grin, "How about hide and seek?"

"Hide and seek?" Raito looked at the one who talked, his eyebrows furrowing in irritation.

"I will hide, and you have to find me." Naruto explained, nodding his head. His clones followed suit, their faces mirroring his confidence.

Raito hesitated for a moment. He looked at the large backyard, with its tall trees and winding paths, and said, "You can only hide in the backyard."

Naruto crossed his arms confidently, a smirk playing on his lips. "That's fine with us, but there is still a time limit. You have to find me within an hour, or you lose."

"Time limit again?" Raito looked a bit frustrated, but then he straightened up and looked at everyone with a confident smile on his face. "Let's increase the bet and make it three weeks. If I catch you within an hour, you will do all the house works for the next three weeks."

"Three weeks? That too much." Naruto exclaimed, pointing his finger and raising his voice in protest, "If I am doing that much-"

"You've already decided that you'll lose?" Raito had a small, mocking smile as he interrupted Naruto. He shook his head, his expression one of feigned disappointment, then added, "The punishment goes same for me too. If I lose then I'll also do three weeks of housework."

Naruto and his clones exchanged glances, their faces reflecting a mix of uncertainty, hope, and concealed joy.

"We have so many on our side. We can definitely win." said Naruto clone 1, his voice filled with confidence.

"Let's change it to one month." Naruto clone 2 whispered, a sly grin spreading across his face.

"Yeah," Naruto clone 3 chimed in, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Three whole weeks of freedom," Naruto clone 4 added, his tone dreamy.

"Yeah, let's do that." Naruto clone 5 agreed, his voice eager.

"No." Naruto looked at his clones and shook his head, his expression serious. "That won't be fair."

The clones looked at one another, their expressions thoughtful, but they kept silent. It seemed that their thinking was also in line with the original's, which is why they did not question or protest his decision.

"Let's start." Raito clapped his hands together, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. He looked at Naruto, then turned around and began the countdown. "1, 2, 3, 4…"

"No cheating." Naruto reminded him, his voice firm.

Raito rolled his eyes and continued counting. 'How can I cheat when there are hundreds of you?'

'But I can…'

Naruto and his clones did not waste any time and started hiding. They soon realized that the backyard, while large, had limited space for effective hiding spots. They hid on the branches of the tall trees, behind the large rocks, and even under the surface of the pond.

After finishing the countdown, Raito turned around and activated his '[Observe]'. Above each clone's head, he could see their names, making it easy for him to differentiate between them. Not only did he find them behind their chosen hiding spots, but he also noticed that some had transformed into rocks and other objects to blend in with their surroundings. 'I never said we couldn't use Ninjutsu.'

'But I've never had rock formation here. Use your head, baka.' Raito thought to himself as he looked at the Naruto-sized rocks in front of him. He knew that the original was not there and moved on to the next hiding spot.

After finishing about a third of the area and growing increasingly irritated, he remembered his new skill, 'Remote Viewing'.

'[Remote Viewing]'

Upon activating the skill, Raito felt himself being pulled up and thrown into the sky. The world around him became monochrome, with shades of gray and white. He looked down and saw the backyard below, but instead of the usual view, he saw chakra fire enclosed by human-shaped outlines where Naruto and his clones were supposed to be.

"This is really cool and all, but I have to find Naruto." Raito thought to himself. He wanted to search for Naruto, but he found that the 'over the head name' signs had also disappeared while using 'Remote Viewing'.

"Tch, no good." he muttered, frustrated by the limitations of his new skill.

Raito immediately canceled the 'Remote viewing' state and started looking around, his eyes scanning the backyard. "Did you really think you could fool me with your clones?"

"Catch me if you can." Raito heard a voice from behind him, and he quickly turned around. But as he did, Raito heard another voice from the opposite direction, and he realized that Naruto was using his clones to confuse him.

'He wouldn't go all the way back and hide. Naruto's not like that. He would rather see the fun and is someone who likes to jump at the end of the things and make loud noise.'

Concluding, Raito swiftly pivoted and advanced, filtering all the clones. At the end of the search, Raito found himself standing before a large stone, a smirk playing on his lips. "Got you." he declared.

Raito picked up a stick from the ground and held it aloft. "Surrender, Naruto." he commanded.

'Your wish,'

Raito's grin widened as he swung the stick downwards. The 'stone' remained unmoving, appearing as nothing more than an ordinary stone.

The original, who had turned into stone, and was standing beside the stone, where the clone was and Raito had been targeting, looked at Raito and smiled, 'I am gonna jump on him as soon as the transformation is-'

"Got you," Just as the stick was about to land on the 'big stone', Raito changed the direction and hit the smaller stone beside the big one.

"Ow," A pained yelp echoed the backyard. The 'Big Rock' was taken aback as he watched the smaller stone beside him transform into Naruto. 'What the heck?'

The transformation on the smaller stone dissipated, revealing Naruto clutching his head in pain.

A triumphant smile spread across Raito's face as he gazed at the defeated Naruto. "Three weeks."

The numerous clones scattered throughout the area dispelled their transformations, exchanged glances, and vanished in a cloud of chakra smoke. For a brief moment, the backyard was shrouded in a thick haze of chakra smoke.

"Ow," Naruto winced in pain as he glared at Raito. "How did you do that?"

Raito tossed the stick aside and casually snapped his fingers, replying, "I did it just like that."

Naruto pointed his finger at Raito and cursed under his breath.

"And don't forget to clean the house while I am gone." Raito reminded him, waving his hand dismissively before walking back into the house.

Naruto patted his back and gazed at the hills behind the house with a determined glint in his eyes. "I am gonna do it, just you wait and see."

'[ID Create – Wasteland Zombie]'

Standing atop the building, Raito observed that these mindless monsters aimlessly wandered with no apparent destination. In the past fifteen minutes or so, the zombie in front of him had circled the block once.

Retrieving a stone from his inventory, Raito threw the stone on a zombie a dozen meter away and waited. Its HP decreased by a few points, but nothing else happened.

He hurled another stone at a zombie below the building and watched closely. The HP dropped by the same amount, but this time the zombie began walking towards the building complex, which was a different from the previous one.

Raito approached the stairs and scrutinized the zombie that was slowly ascending them. '[Observe]'

Suddenly, the zombie halted a few meters away from Raito.

Roar!

With a sudden roar, the zombie charged towards Raito.

Raito looked at the oncoming zombie and calmly remarked, "I have the high ground, so…"

With a swift and precise slash, Raito beheaded the zombie. For a brief moment, he was taken aback as the sensation of cutting through flesh overwhelmed him. The next moment, the zombie's remains dissipated into a cloud of black smoke, vanishing without a trace, as if it never existed

A blue light momentarily flashed across Raito's eye as he murmured, "These aren't real but…"

RWARR!

The nearby zombies let out a collective roar and began charging towards him, their behavior evidently different from before.

'That zombie must have alerted or summoned the others.' Raito deduced, retreating to the edge of the roof. "If there are too many, I'll just jump to the next building."

As the zombies began to pour out of the roof door, Raito's hand instinctively reached for the pouch on his belt. He withdrew a few shuriken and prepared to throw them, but hesitated. It was his months and years worth of acquired habit.

'I can't lose them here.' he thought to himself, quickly returning the shuriken to the pouch.

Raito balanced himself on the railings and waited for the zombies to approach.

Taking a deep breath, Raito activated his chakra and began to channel it throughout his body.

'Just as Jii-chan said, I need to be able to control and move my chakra wherever and whenever I want.' Raito thought to himself.

"I finally did it right." Raito breathed a sigh of relief and gripped his sword tightly.

As the zombie approached, Raito raised his sword and took a deep breath.

The first one received a vertical slash, cutting from its shoulder to its hip. With the help of '[Chakra Sense]', Raito dodged the attacks of a couple of zombies and kicked one. The zombie's HP decreased slightly, but it was otherwise unharmed.

Raito impaled one of the zombies with his sword, releasing the hilt and pushing it away. He then turned halfway, grabbing another zombie and tossing it off the building. The zombie died instantly.

'Punching didn't do much, and neither did stabbing.'

Raito delivered a series of punches, each one dealing 20 to 30 points of damage. The zombie turned into black smoke immediately after its HP reached zero.

"You don't bleed, you don't feel pain and you don't flinch." Raito muttered, tossing another zombie off the building and closing the notification tab.

When only one zombie remained on the rooftop, Raito picked up his sword from the ground and sliced its thigh, careful not to cut too deep, just till the bone.

Surveying the area, Raito didn't spot any other zombies on the street.

[5:34 PM]

Raito swung his sword in a swift arc, beheading the zombie and causing its HP to instantly drop to zero.

[You have leveled up.]

Raito watched as the zombie turned into black smoke, contemplating whether or not to continue his training. In the end, he decided to call it a day and head back.

Raito stretched. "I am pooped. [ID Escape]"

"Whoa, where did you come from?" Raito appeared in front of Naruto, who was in the middle of cleaning the room.

"Naruto, it's great to see you!" Raito said with a wide grin on his face as he hugged Naruto. "You're cleaning?"

"What are you doing, weirdo?" Naruto dropped the broom and pushed Raito away.

"Sheesh," Raito pouted, jumping over to the couch and pulling out a piece of paper. He waved it in the air and asked, "Do you want to know?"

"What's that?" Naruto saw his name written at the top of the paper and felt a little embarrassed. He asked in a soft voice. "Where did you get that?"

Raito smiled and answered, "I borrowed it from the Iruka-sensei."

"Borrowed?" Naruto sat down at the other end of the couch.

"Uzumaki Naruto 66th rank in grade. Barely passed in History and Shinobi Code of Conduct. Passed Taijutsu, unranked. 8th in Throwing, passed. Fail in Science, Language, and Mathematics. Cannot perform Clone technique, failed. Can do Replacement and Transformation technique, passed. Cannot detect and disperse Genjutsu, failed."

"Where did you get that?" Naruto's face turned pale as he pointed at the paper.

"Didn't I say it? I borrowed it from Iruka sensei." Raito said, handing the paper to Naruto and pulling out some books.

"You have already passed the Ninjutsu except for one but even that won't be a problem now. So, let's focus on theory for now, and as for Genjutsu, I will ask Yūgao-nee for help"

Picking up the math book, Raito looked at Naruto and said, "Math will be easy."

Naruto pouted, staring at the math problems in front of him. If there was one thing Naruto absolutely hated, it was math. He sighed as he scratched off another question and said, "Numbers aren't for me."

After an hour of studying, Raito sighed, realizing that teaching wasn't as easy as it seemed. 'I'm going to have to do something special for Iruka-sensei once this is over.'

Thinking for a while, an idea came to Raito's mind. Raito straighten up and looked at Naruto with a smile then asked. "Naruto, how much is the new improved miso ramen, which you said was the best?"

"About 148 Ryo." Naruto replied.

"What if I want to add three pork chunky cuts and two eggs?" Raito asked, his eyes shining.

"That would be 198 Ryo."

"What if I want to buy eight of them?"

"That's expensive and you don't even eat that much." Naruto looked at Raito in puzzlement.

"I wanna buy it for Chōji and me… for a competition. How much would it be?" Raito asked bringing Naruto back to track.

"I would be 1,584 Ryo." Naruto answered.

"That's a lot." Raito sighed.

"That's why I said-"

"How about we use the two 15% discount coupons you have?" Raito raised his head, with twinkle in his eyes.

"1,108.8 Ryo." Naruto raised his finger and said. "I still prefer the old miso ramen, it's cheaper and more delicious."

Raito smiled as he heard Naruto talk about ramen. Naruto has been going to Ichiraku since forever. Day after day or on alternate days, Naruto has never stopped visiting Ichiraku. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, if he could, Naruto would eat ramen for lifetime.

Closing the math book, Raito said, "How about we go to Ichiraku?"

Naruto blinked as he processed what Raito said, then nodded eagerly, "Let's go."

On the way to the Ichiraku's, Raito said, "Why don't I take you to a training ground?"

"Training ground? Where ninja train? But we aren't allowed to go there." Naruto said with a frown.

"Who said anything about that one? I'm going to take you to my special training ground, where the real monsters come." Raito said, trying to sound as mysterious as possible

"Monsters?" Naruto looked at Raito skeptically, "There's no such thing as monster."

Raito rolled his eyes and nudged Naruto. "Let's go."

"There is no such thing as monsters." Naruto repeated, stubbornly, as they ran to Ichiraku.

As the two boys entered the Ichiraku's, the chef greeted them shop. "Welcome!"

"Oi, Teuchi-ossan! One bowl of pork ramen!" Naruto announced upon arrival.

"Teuchi-san, one bowl of beef ramen, chunks and minced, please." Raito said, looking around at the other customers who were quietly leaving the shop.

"Raito, you came! You missed your Friday special." Ayame said as she began to prepare their orders.

"Ah, my Friday special! I forgot about it." Raito exclaimed, opening his eyes wide in shock. He slapped his forehead and then added, "I'll have a double portion this Friday."

"Sure." Teuchi stirred the noodles and drained the water.

"Here we go one bowl of pork ramen and one bowl of beef ramen. Please enjoy."

"So, Raito-kun, what were you doing on Friday that made you so busy?" Ayame started cleaning the table and took out other ingredients.

"Mm, I was finishing the paperwork for Naruto. Everything related to Naruto is too confusing and difficult." Raito replied as he wiped his mouth.

He then added, "I mean, why do I even have to get permission to let Naruto stay with me? It seemed like a big fat-"

"Don't think about it too much… but since you two are living together, help Naruto from time to time, okay?" Ayame looked at Naruto and Raito with a small smile.

Slurp "Ahh, that feels good." Naruto patted his stomach and let out a comfortable expression.

Raito nodded in agreement.

"One more please." Naruto requested another bowl of ramen

Naruto then talked about his tales of pranking people and about the academy, whereas Raito slowly ate his ramen, listening intently.

After Raito finished his ramen, they both headed outside the shop.

Inside the comfortable house, Naruto and Raito prepared some of the rainy-day items. Raito looked at his collection of kunai and shuriken then turned to face Naruto who had a little less of… everything. "Ready to go?" Raito asked.

Raito grabbed Naruto's shoulder and activated the skill, "[ID Create]". They disappeared in a blink of eye, leaving the house empty.

Naruto looked at the surrounding area and turned to face Raito. "It's weird here."

Naruto walked towards the window and looked at the sky to see a red moon.

"The moon is red." Naruto took a few steps back in fear.

"This is one of my techniques, Naruto." Raito explained, "It can take me and others in places like this."

"Where is this?" Naruto turned and asked. "Can we go back?"

"We are in the village, which is infested with the monsters." Raito answered and looked around. "We can go back whenever we like."

"It's like our own personal training ground." Raito added, seeing Naruto freeze.

"Naruto…"

"This is so awesome," Naruto hurried outside then inside and then outside again. "Everything is the same except for the red moon."

"… and monsters," Raito added. Naruto seems to have a habit of excluding the things that he did not understand or like, all the time.

"Yeah, that too." Naruto slowed down and asked, "So, where are those monsters?"

"Let's go." Raito smiled and led the way to the busier part of the village.

"Whoa, what are these things?" Naruto looked at the swarm of zombies and asked.

"These are monsters. I call them zombies." Raito explained, "They are not really alive, but they can attack us if we go near them."

"They are not alive?" Naruto asked, looking confused.

"Yeah, when you… beat them too much, they turn into smoke." Raito clarified. It was very important to point that out right now.

Naruto scanned his surroundings before following Raito up a taller building.

"This will be perfect for your first time." Raito said, taking out some books and looking at Naruto, "Leave one clone here, then you can go down and practice with the zombies."

"Me, alone?" Naruto questioned, pointing at himself.

Raito chuckled, his gaze fixed on the shuffling figures below. "Yeah, they are so weak that I can one shot kill them." Raito boasted as he looked at the zombies. 'But I was using a sword.' he muttered under his breath.

"Well…" Naruto looked down then at Raito. With a cross hand seal, he activated his chakra and summoned shadow clones.

A group of ten clones appeared in front of Raito. He grabbed one of them, who had the cheek to cry anime tears.

"Let's get to it." Raito shoved a book at Naruto clone before grabbing one for himself.

While the clone and Raito were studying, Naruto and his clones were trying to kill the zombie. Too much? Yeah, they were just struggling.

One zombie caught the clone and chomped. The other clones also disappeared quickly under zombie's frenzied attack.

Sweat slicked Naruto's palms as he pushed another zombies. A guttural growl scraped against his ear, a zombie lunging for his neck. Just in time, a voice pierced those zombie's crazed roars. "Kick the front one then jump backward."

Naruto obeyed, sent the lead zombie plummeting from the rooftop and even dodged the couple of zombies charging at him, although clumsily.

"Walls! Use the walls, then kick their heads in!" came another barked instruction.

Naruto jumped from pole to the walls and started kicking heads. Sometime the zombies would extend their hands but he would just jump and kick their hands.

The air reeked of rotting flesh making Naruto cover his nose. He lay there panting, struggling to choose between puke and breath.

"Chōji can do better than that." Raito yawned. He juggled teaching Naruto clone revision of some science chapters while simultaneously helped the original in his fight "Make some more shadow clones, Naruto!"

Naruto complied, summoning a flurry of clones. However, these were a frail bunch, barely enough to distract the zombies for a moment.

Raito, witnessing Naruto's struggle, snatched a handful of stones and flung them at the zombies in quick succession. The barrage forced the undead to falter, momentarily easing the pressure on Naruto.

Feeling the difficulty go down, momentarily relaxing his guard. The mistake was instantaneous. Two zombies lunged, their decaying claws reaching for him.

"Bakanaru!" Raito yelled, hurling another volley of stones, disrupting the zombie attack. "What the heck are you doing?"

Naruto, startled, stammered an apology. "Sorry!" Naruto apologized and summoned an army of clones.

Within minutes, the area was cleared of the zombies.

[Skill 'Teaching' leveled up.]

"Teaching?" Raito eyed the remaining Naruto clone, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes. With a flick of his wrist, a stone transformed the clone into a puff of chakra smoke.

"Hey." Naruto's shout echoed through the deserted street, attracting a couple of zombies. Raito, however, didn't care.

"It doesn't work that way, it shouldn't." Raito sighed and called, "Naruto."

Raito waved his hand and brought out the katana. "Watch and learn."

"Where did you get that?" Naruto looked at the sword in envy and asked.

Raito looked back and said, "My dad left this for me."

Raito jumped down the house and ran on the streets. Whenever he met a zombie, Raito turned 90 degrees and slowly gathered a small crowd. The zombies had slowed down and were now ready to be harvested.

Raito walked forward to the zombie, who was at the front of line, and beheaded him.

The zombie disappeared in smoke and a familiar notification box appeared in front of him.

[You have gained 100 Exp.]

Raito gazed at the other zombies and smiled. The night was long and zombies were lurking everywhere.

One by one, Raito eliminated the small group of zombies.

"20 of them got me 2,000 Exp and I didn't even use the 'Body Reinforcement'."

Closing the tabs, Raito saw a Naruto clone waving his hand. Raito jumped on the wall and slowly walked towards him.

"Do you want to rest?" The clone asked.

Raito looked at the clones and answered, "Yeah, I am a bit tired."

"The learning clone is done with the chapter, says he needs your help." Naruto said and ran towards the central. "They came at us so we had to change location."

Raito followed him. This time the building was taller and the zombies around the building had been cleared.

Raito sat with the clone and started teaching. Teaching basic science to Naruto was easier than he had anticipated, at least to the clone. The clone did not make any extra noise or tried to escape. He simply sat, read, and occasionally asked questions.

Suddenly, Raito asked, interrupting the Naruto clone's studying. "What is original doing?"

"If someone around him dispels now, I can tell otherwise, I cannot." the clone replied after a bit of thinking.

"Wait, so you all get the memories?" Raito was curious.

Raito swore that after he was able to do Shadow Clone, he was going to cheat the heck out of it.

"I never thought about it, but yeah." The clone replied.

Raito activated his 'Remote viewing', sub-ability of Chakra Sense, and saw Naruto and two of his clones fighting against zombies. If only the view was clearer, he could differentiate them more easily.

Raito opened his eyes and looked down from the building, spotting a lone zombie shuffling towards the tower.

"I'm going." Raito said, glancing back at the Naruto clones before unsheathing his sword and leaping down from the building in a single fluid motion. He cleaved the zombie into two and before the zombie could fall on the ground a different kind of notification appeared in front of him.

The zombie skin was similar to a normal human skin, but it had a darker, more sickly hue. There was no blood, for which Raito was thankful.

[Zombie Skin] (Uncommon)

A layer of flesh from a zombie that carries resentment. Can be used in crafting or for other purposes.

Raito looked at the description and rolled his eyes. 'What can you craft? Skin mask? Or skin suit?'

[Zombie Rib] (Uncommon)

A rib from the zombie that carries resentment. It can be used in crafting or other purposes.

"There isn't much, is there?" Raito closed the tabs but the items kept on coming. "Could it be Naruto?"

Raito hurried to Naruto's direction and saw that whenever he killed a zombie, the loot would automatically go to him. 'I feel like I cheated a whole lot.' he thought to himself.

'Maybe I should buy him some premium ramen, or I could cook.' Raito thought for a while and called. 'Time'.

[1:04 AM]

"Naruto, let's go." Raito called.

Naruto looked at Raito and withdrew. His clones quickly finished off the remaining zombie before disappearing in a cloud of chakra smoke.

"We're going home?" Naruto asked.

"Yeah, it's past 1 in the morning." Raito said, glancing around before looking toward the house. "Can you tell all your clone to… you know, disappear?"

"I can do that." A clone appeared beside Naruto and disappeared the next second. The next moment, Naruto staggered and Raito caught him, worry clearly visible in his eyes, "Are you alright?"

"I feel like I've read a lot, today." Naruto grabbed his head with his one head and went into daze. "Wait, I remember… the first chapter is about measurement which, covers units of measurement for different things like time, length, temperature…"

"Oi, are you alright?" Raito asked, his worry growing.

"I remember reading a lot, Raito." Naruto said, his voice filled with wonder.

"I asked your clone to read basic science earlier," Raito explained. "It must be the information being sent back."

Naruto's face lit up with hope, "I think I can ace all the tests if I make a few more clones and have them finish everything for me."

Raito playfully punched Naruto's shoulder with his free hand, "Just a few chapters and you are already like this. Imagine what would happen if you did more."

Naruto's expression fell. "Aw, man."

"Just take it one step at a time." Raito said, reassuringly, as he picked up the pace.

Back at the house,

Inside the bath, Raito covered his eyes and activated the chakra. The chakra traveled all the way to the eye chakra point then diffused into the eyes.

At first, his vision was clear from the time earlier, he could see the small words at the back of the shampoo but it was gone the next second.

The chakra in his eyes didn't last long, and no new notification tab appeared. He tried again, but the result was the same.

"It'll come around." Raito said to himself, before sending chakra to his voice box.

"Sun comes from the east, cough…" Raito coughed even before he could finish one small part. "This one too, cough"

Standing up from the tub Raito opened his Chakra Control Exercise and found that leaf-sticking was already nearing level 25. "I need to raise the Chakra Control's level."

After changing into clean clothes, Raito walked downstairs and saw Naruto sitting on the couch, deep in thought. When Naruto noticed Raito, he said, "We need awesome jutsu."

Raito rolled his eyes and said, "The bath is ready."

"Raito, for real. We need cool jutsus." Naruto said and slapped the arm of the couch.

"Then, ask Jiji." Raito replied, as he started walking upstairs.

Naruto pouted and followed him. He grabbed a towel and went inside the bathroom.

Even if they asked Hiruzen to give them some Ninjutsu, the answer would be a big fat no.

"I need to do leaf sticking on my face too." Raito sighed, as he closed his eyes.
