1 Plane to Jakarta

[Time until server shutdown - 00h : 15m : 54s]

Chandra sighed looking at the timer on the topmost screen of the game that played on his laptop.

Today is the last service of 'Jian Online', the game that he had played for the last 15 years of his life.

He had played the game from the very start of it— when he studying to get a master's degree until now, where he is at the age of 42 years old.

'Jian Online' that can be shortened as 'JiO' is an MMORPG game that came out in the early 2000s— the chibi RPG years.

'JiO' is one of that type of chibi game too.

Initially, this game had a solid player base and huge hype around it because of its unique genre, over the years it gradually decline.

There are just too many games that had the same design and better experience, after all.

After 7 years from the Web release, only him the player that actively played the game with the occasion of the old player login the game to experience nostalgia.

And when the MOBA type of game came out. The game is basically dead. But Chandra didn't budge. He still played 'JiO' religiously.

He was too deep in the rabbit hole.

When the game announces its disbandment he was devastated. He even tried to contact the developers and make some conversations in the emails between them. That goes like,

'Why couldn't you open the server for a bit longer?'(Chandra)

'We apologize, sir... it was an inevitable situation for us.'(JiO Dev)

'Do you in a short of money? I had money! I knew this will happen sooner or later so I save a little bit for server maintenance.'(Chandra)

'Sorry sir it wasn't about money. It's already final from the upper-ups.'(JiO Dev)

'Fine then, do you people will create another game or the company just disbanded like that?'(Chandra)

'We will create another game. So please stay tuned.'(JiO Dev)

'I'm glad the company still alive. I'm gonna miss JiO, though. It was such a nice game.'(Chandra)

'Thank you very much. The new game will be announced after JiO servers shut down.'(JiO Dev)

Remembering the email with JiO developers He leaned on his comfortable businesses-class seat and sighed. Currently, he was flying back from a business trip in Rio de Janeiro.

The 42 years old uncle had a fit body that is rare for people at that age, his muscle and abs printed on his tight loose button-up white shirt. With the heights of 185cm(6'1"), he was tall for the people around him. He wore black pants and white socks with shiny black loafers.

His jet black eyes that is paired with equal jet black brows decorate his tanned and clean face. Straight black shoulder-length hair that had a middle-parted bang attached to his head. A shinning rectangular glass is being held by his pointy nose bridge.

He, as a team leader of 12 people come to Brazil to open up their company branch in South America. The journey was a success as he was now sitting on the business-class plane. Not some cargo ship nor fishing boat.

His boss was a little bit scary even for a man like him.

Because the opening was a success in many ways all of the team members got the same treatment as him. On his surroundings was a happy-looking white collar worker that is his underlings, talking happily between themselves.

This is their first time experiencing a business-class seat on a plane.

"Mr. Satrio... Do you want some refreshment?" A girly voice sounded beside him.

It came from the seat beside him. Since it was a business-class seat there's three rows of a seat on it, a single seat on each side, and a double seat that separated by a sliding wall in the middle. The row of seats is separated by two walkways.

The one who called him was a woman that had a petite figure, and wearing a blue rectangular hijab that covers her petite breast. It was Yuli, his assistant. Her deep hazel eyes looking at him with a star on them. Though, her hand is trembling while offering him a glass of juice.

"Thank you." said Chandra to her weakly. reached the drink that she had offered to him.

After taking a sip of fresh lemon juice he says to Yuli, "You should've called me with my nickname, Yul. we worked for 3 years already."

"Can I?" asked her carefully, his nickname was not pleasant to hear.

He answers her question with shrug. He knew his nickname was lame and to be honest he just wants to tease his assistant.

His eyes left the timid assistant and take a glance at the game. There was a red exclamation point in the mail option— that meant he got a new mail.

Intrigued, he moves his mouse to click the mail, it was from the game master.

<From : Game Master>

<To appreciate Player 'GanGan69' toughness for playing game since the release until the very end, we will give : >

<(+3) Mystery Box.>

"Mystery Box!" he exclaimed happily.

His shout was neither small nor loud but Yuli beside him could hear it clearly, it made her startled and taken aback. Mustering her confidence she asked him, "What it is, bang sat?"

Now, it was Chandra's time to be taken aback. He was questioning his ear. Is his assistant really called him by that?

"You really use my nickname?" asked him in disbelief.

"I-I'm s-sorry!" said her bowing her head. Inwardly she felt wronged 'You're the one who tells me to call you by your nickname!'

Seeing Yuli's face Chandra let out a small chuckle. He felt sorry for teasing her.

"Nah, never mind." said him to her, waving his hand and then asked, "You want to hear about the 'Mystery Box'?"

Yuli wasn't that interested in that 'Mystery box' since she just asks him out of concerns. She thought when Chandra shout, there's something wrong. Alas, she couldn't say that loudly, instead, she nods her head.

Chandra not bothering to saw her reaction though. Hearing her question about 'Mystery Box' already piqued his interest. Instead, he closes his eyes and began to explain, "Lemme tell you, child. This box is a versatile box that only occurs by lucky chance or killing the last boss."

Hearing his explanation, Yuli takes a glance at his laptop. She understands that the box is from a game, a cute one at that. But she felt strange hearing how to obtain the box. so she asked, "Isn't it too harsh for players? after they got to the goal, they only got some random things?"

"You uncultured swine!" shout him, his rectangular glass could be seen trembling.

"Hii! I'm sorry!" Yuli apologizes, she knew that when Chandra's glass move by itself he was in anger.

"It because of the randomness that makes the box interesting! you wouldn't know what inside, so you hope to get something amazing from it!" exclaims him while correcting his glasses. He continued to explain, "Listen here... We, the 'Greatest Jade Emperor' only got 10 pieces of that box. and what inside? a piece of peerless equipment and item! you hear that?"

She nods her head 'eagerly'. It got a puff of relief from Chandra's mouth. He's back at his seat, leaning his back.

Yuli looks at his reaction was relieved. She already knows her superior behaviors for years, his reactions just now showed means that he didn't mad at her. But, She couldn't help but felt weird.

'Chinese? why did you use Chinese?' Yuli asked inwardly. It was unusual for her superior to use Chinese language. she asked, "Is that something good?"

"It is... that why I spend years killing just one of the last boss." said him crossing his arms, he had a look of reminiscing on his face.

"Heee..." she just nodded at him because she doesn't know how to answer that. Is it great because you got the box or is it bad because you spend years to collect just one of it kind?

"Don't 'hee' me! open your laptop and play with me!" said him.

"W-why?" asked her that didn't understand his logic. Though, she still opened her laptop that sitting at a small desk in front of her seat. The laptop is in 'sleep' conditions. When it opened, it already showing its desktop interface.

He didn't answer her. He turns his body to the side to take his bag from the compartment. Unzipping it, he takes out a blue rectangular flash disk. He put his hand over her seat shoulder and shoving the flash disk to her face. He says with an 'earnest' expression, "Let's enjoy the last moment of the server together."

That was his strategy to lure the new player to the game. He already does it many times in the past. Though, in many cases, it didn't work at all.

"That a little bit..." although she liked hearing his deep voice she wants to retort, but a chilling gaze from him stopped her to do so. She could only comply and said with a stammerer, "U-understand."

Chandra's face brightens and with a swift movement, he inserts the Flash disk into her laptop. The installation program runs automatically since he had the flash disk programmed. Within a second, the installation finished and the game started. It goes directly to the in-game registration form.

'So fast!' Yuli cried inwardly.

Yuli was speechless. Looking to the side she could see that her boss was 'smiling' at her, with his hand pointing all of its fingers to her laptop. Not waiting any longer she quickly filled the form and joined the game.

Chandra is very satisfied. The game now had one additional player that 'willingly' played it.

<Welcome player 'Yuli78', congratulations you got achievement 'The Last Player'>

<'The Last Player' title gaining player 'Yuli78' All stat (+30), and 'Mystery Box' (+1)>

"Whooaa... that crazy!" Chandra is impressed by the gift and barged notifications that she gets.

"Quickly open it" he urged.

She followed his instructions to open the 'Mystery Box'. A notification chimed.

<You've got a title 'Heavenly Amazoness Constitution'>

"" Heavenly Amazoness Constitution?? "" both of them exclaim at the same time.
