The Galge System

I dunno, comment a synopsis for me? But I don't claim ownership on any of the materials included in the story, excluding the originals mentioned within. If an original somehow resembles your idea, I am now stating that this is all a coincidence and we can have a discussion on the matter.

Forest is not a Place for Directionally Challenged People.

So you see, I tried to exit the forest, but the keyword tried stopped me from actually leaving the forest.

Walking towards a single direction would surely take you to the exit, maybe introduce a new scenery. But if you rest for a while then try to continue walking to the direction you are walking to, and somehow walk by a place you have already came from (I saw traces of my body, the body was actually gone). you'll be forced to think that memory of the direction you are walking to was different from the actual direction you are walking to.

So I used marks to indicate the direction I am walking to, so that I can correct myself whenever I run around in circles and create another mark nearby the previous mark to prevent myself in walking around in circles in that area.

And after walking towards the chosen direction (I am now not confident if its straight), I immediately realized I somehow manage to become lost again, and even lost the marks I created!

I realized that whenever I finished as encounter, animal or not(the thing that attacked me), I would immediately forgot where I was going, even the direction of the mark cannot be remembered.

What can I do? every encounter I had always have me dying somehow or another.

And those experiences are somehow not remembered by my body, making me act like an unexperienced newbie every time an encounter that I died occurs. You know, like when something jumps at you, then gave you pain, you body(muscle memory) would somehow remember the experience that whenever something is thrown or heading at you with considerable speed, you would somehow evade that thing even without knowing it.

What happened in my case is that I would only react when there is a noticeable sign that something is indeed lounging towards me. Faint signs were somewhat ignored by my conscious that they were totally ignored subconsciously, making me act like a tourist in a tourist destination.

Even without the threat of dying, I should accumulate experience from the encounter as the pain I experienced dying (specially the slow ones, like bleeding out), should be enough for my body to learn.

That's when I noticed.

A new body would be created whenever I loaded a macro save point.

So my theory would be, since this new body never experienced the dying part, only the retaliation and the flailing part is the only thing the new body experienced. Thus not remembering the experience of sudden encounter. I don't even now the exact details of what happened before an ambush to consciously know when an ambush is going to happen.

And if I mind every single detail, I would only be tiring myself, instead of progressing in leaving the forest.

So I tried the temporal save point.

I created a temporal save point, then waited for an encounter while walking in a random direction(I gave up walking with a direction, I am just hoping that walking around would somehow take me out of the forest).

The encounter did happen, with another "monster", and I died from its ambush.

[You died. Macro save point detected. Load save point?]

So I rejected the option.

[Default load option denied. Choose load option: Macro; Temporal; Absolute]

Then I chose Temporal-

What was I doing again?

Right, I was trying to leave this forest, but I kept on getting lost...

Hmmm...?

I thought I put a mark on a tree just nearby...?

Hmmm...

I circled around the area I was in and-

[You died. Macro save point detected. Load save point?]

Of course I choose load save point to kill that-

- I passed out. From too much pain.

Light was peeking through my eyes, as I considered what happened yesterday and what I learned from them.

Memories are not included when going back through time. It is a pretty hidden danger that I can never solve because even I would never know when I already did a Temporal load. Imagine this: having a certain death event in the near future (even with my Macro load), then I have no choice but to choose Temporal load (I still don't know what happens with Absolute load, but that will be for the future me), then the memory that I have to change my actions to evade the certain death event in the future will also be lost. This will result into a time loop: no different from death, since I will only unknowingly go through the same events that lead to the certain death event. I can't also be certain that I will accidentally trigger Macro save point to recover the memories from the future, just like what happened today.

The time the system is using is different from the environment I was present. Good thing is that I can experience aging, since going through a year multiple times is possible, and I still need a good grip on time to have a good sense of reality. Bad thing is that I would have a different sense of time from other beings aside from me. Good work theory of relativity, I need my internal clock(system clock) to be accurate.

I still have other theories that needed to be proven, but these things are the only things that are concerns of immediate remedy.

Also... I'm lost.
