1 The Start...as a Fox...

Nothing, nothing completely….

Just blackness and a strange feeling of emptiness were surrounding me…

At first, I thought that I was paralyzed in a strange dormant stage, like going to sleep and then ending up in a coma, but as a medical graduate in both eastern and Chinese Traditional medicine, I knew that my health state wouldn't bring me something like a coma.

I tried to shout, to move and many others, but everything was useless, and slowly I was starting to consider something my pessimistic mind already thought in the beginning.

I was dead… like really dead… but in the end, I didn't have any hints that could have brought me to such a conclusion.

And again as my thoughts started to go in all the directions, on my body, or what I thought could be my body, I started to feel something strange…

A feeling that reminded me of a misty breeze and water flowing on my skin at the same time, and then a warm light entered my area of vision, proving to me that my eyes weren't closed, to be more precise, I realized that I didn't have any eyelids to close.

"Child… I'm sorry… This wasn't supposed to happen"

says a voice coming from where I could see the strange light

"Wait… what wasn't supposed to happen? I don't get it…"

I try to say, remembering that I couldn't emit any sound at the moment

"You've died three days ago, a heart attack took your life, and it was all my fault"

Says the weird-looking light as it seemed to become more bright and closer each passing second.

"As I thought, but how can you hear me, if I can't hear what I say myself, no let me think of a question that may suit better what is happening, why am I still conscious? And letting that off the hook, what will happen to me now? I mean, I'm dead, but will I stay in this blackness forever? If so…."

At that point in my endless speech, I understood that I wasn't there to make questions but to sit still and listen, my 'voice' couldn't make any noise and I could feel a strong annoyance from the weird light.

"There's no time for such frivolous questions child, I'm here to say that for my wrongs, I'll make you reincarnate in luxurious life and wealthiness, you'll have an easy life on earth and you will be able to remember your previous life…"

As the light said so I started to feel unsatisfied with what the light was offering

"But that's not what I want…"

I try to say but the light didn't bother to give me back the ability to talk, and here again, I couldn't do anything, no talking, no shouting, and no moving, just my thoughts and the strange light doing weird things with two limbs made out of the same strange light, that apparently appeared right when hr stopped talking.

"Wait, please... you said you wronged me... can't you just send me back? I have a family..." I didn't want a new life... I wanted my previous one...

"No, child... this is not worth bringing you back to life..." the strange light says, and all I could feel was a rage filling my senses...

This wasn't worth it?

He killed me, at least this is what I deserve...

But as my rage was growing stronger and stronger a strange purple hole appeared right next to me, inside the hole, or tunnel now that I gave it a better look, I could see another white light, different from that of the diety, this one was more artificial, like the light from neon or an led lamp.

But I refused to enter it, my strong rage gave me the will to oppose the powerful pull that I felt trying to make me enter the tunnel.

"Child, don't make this difficult... please..." says the light in the blackness as with his strange limbs try to push me in the tunnel.

And there, while I was fighting the pull something unexpected happen.

Another tunnel opened, it was small, and in the end, I could see a strange and brownish material, nothing more, nothing less...

I knew deep in my heart that entering either of the tunnels would mean letting of my family, my friends, my life.... everything...

"Child... behave and enter the tunnel that I created..." to those words I understood that the light didn't want me to enter the brownish ended tunnel, but I could feel that it was my decision, I could choose freely, and just like an offended child would do, I chose the opposite of the voice instructed me...

As I approached the tunnel the pull seemed to intensify, the brown ended tunnel was warm, and as I was going through it I started to feel a strange bunch of noises, animal yips to be more specific, and a deep breath panting.

Then I lost my consciousness.

Wet was all I could feel, after a while something strange, very similar to a warm and slimy cloth started to brush my body, I try to move but I started realizing something was off...

The cloth brushed in the zone where I felt my eyes, and instinctively I open them only to see an enormous, canine-like snout, the warm-slimy cloth was actually a tong

'What?!?!?! A snout, that big? Where am I?' was the bunch of answers that started to form but as a calm and calculated person in my past life, I try to calm myself and reflect.

What I was starting to realize was that i... was something like a canine pup of some sort...

As the snout kept licking my body and numerous yips were coming from my throat, fusing with many other yips and barks inside what I thought would be our den, a strange window appears in my area of vision

[Congrats, the host is reborn in the Moon Forest, a region of the Fengbao continent]
