5 The Wolf Clan

On the other side of the forest was another demon clan but unlike the fox clan the wolf clan is flourishing with children running along the grounds, women walking around with food baskets, topless men carrying their children on their shoulders, and young men building huts for those who doesn't have any dens.

Why is that you ask? Because the growth of the wolf clan has been exponential ever since they welcomed other demon races to be mated with their own. If you would look long enough you'll notice a few female cat demons with the male wolves or avian males and females that's mated to the wolves. It has been a few years since it happened and it was quite the story, but we can save that for another day.

It was a harmonious and peaceful day once again in the clan until a shout from the alpha's office was heard. Everyone's attention turned to the hut the alpha uses as an office so that everyone can easily find him if there is any trouble in the clan.

"What do you mean the humans have started to prepare for war?!!!"

Realizing the graveness of the issue He Heng softened his tone and voice but the news was already heard and spread through out the pack. His friend and childhood friend glared at him his eyes seriously telling him that what he did was very stupid.

"Alpha this is not good it's almost the mating season and the females are about to go into heat. We can't have pregnant females join in the war and we can't keep them from going into heat." One of the elders of the clan said.

"The first thing we have to do is calm the members of the clan before anything. You're stupidity is really reaching a new high who would shout such an information in the middle of the pack on a busy day." The beta said as he glared at his alpha.

"Let's do that first then we can go to Luke to see if he has any advise." One of the elders said. So as they all agreed they proceeded to calm the restlessness that settled on the clan with the upcoming announcement of the war. As they dealt with the preparations to defend themselves from the upcoming attack.

The clan was in full swing preparation scout were sent out, food was gathered, warriors were trained. While the alpha and the elders were meeting as the beta was the one busy organizing everything in the clan.

"Alpha we have to go and see Luke about this we need his advise if not his help"

"Elder it's not going to work. Elder brother already stated that he would kill anyone who bothers him up until the next year and we need all available body here. It takes 2 months to travel from the clan to eldest brother's territory and another 2 months to return by the time we return the clan could be destroyed. I'll go to that man's territory even if he doesn't help he can at least care for the pregnant women and children in our clan."

They talked more about the things they have to do and debated on the issue if they should go ask for help from the fox that's on the other side of the forest. From when the news was released until the middle of the night before the elders were seen out of the alpha's meeting room.

He Heng immediately turned into his wolf and ran out the territory to the fox clan. He wasn't unfamiliar with the road leading to the fox clan since he had been going there since he was young. Remembering the first time they met and how he was beaten black and blue was a funny and annoying memory for him. Lost is the memory he crashed into the barrier injuring his poor nose. In anger he attacked the barrier until it shimmered and the fox came out.

Turning into his human form, Ying Zi, glared at the wolf as he turned into his demi form.

"What are you bothering me at this time of the night wolf. You better have good explanation for attacking my barrier."

He Heng explained his dilemma to Ying Zi and with a wave of his hand two chairs form from the ground and Ying Zi sat gesturing to He Heng to take the other chair.

"Why do you smell like sex?"

He Heng immediately jump to question as he sat down. Ying Zi just looked at him without saying anything. After a while he said. "I won't join the battle the humans brought to many magicians with them this time and if I show up it would alarm those in power and send more magicians here. I can however keep your pregnant females and children here in my barrier so you won't have any worries about protecting them.

They talked about when and how they would bring the pregnant women and children to the fox clan territory. Finalizing everything Ying Zi was about to leave when He Heng jumped on him brimming with curiosity and ask.

"Why do you smell like sex old fox?"

With a push He Heng was pushed away and Ying Zi left with a simple comment.

"It's my wedding night of course."
