1 PREFACE

Long ago there were four kingdoms. Each ruled by a son or daughter of the King and Queen who had once ruled it as one. When the King and Queen died the children took their thrones and each took upon themselves an unnatural power.

The eldest, Keenan took up a form of sorcery. A power that was higher than anything anyone could imagine. Though he claimed that in his hands it would only be used for good.

The second eldest, Liana was said to have called upon the angels of God. But some say they were of the devil for they looked as beautiful as angels but could play such evil tricks.

The third child, Kyro called upon the spirits of animals and was eventually known to be able to take the form of any living creature on the earth.

And last, the youngest, Brisenia is said to have truly called upon the devil for he gave her the form of a demon. Her skin was as white as snow and her eyes as red as blood. But her way of living was worst of all for in order to survive she must drink human blood.

At first these kingdoms ruled in harmony but when the power they had obtained became known to each other, each wanted all for themselves.

So they fought.

They fought continuously and endlessly; never giving up or giving in. At last Liana, Kyro, and Brisenia decided to call a truce. Keenan tricked them into thinking he wanted it as well. In their moment of weakness he destroyed them and took what he claimed was his birthright.

Keenan took the throne and with it the people who once belonged to those of his kin. Unbeknownst to him however was his siblings' immortality, which meant they couldn't die. In their cunningness they decided to make it seem as if they were dead in order to have time to plot their revenge. And when their plotting was finished they took action by making all their people like unto themselves. After that a chance for harmony was seemingly impossible.

Eventually Keenan surrendered the people that weren't originally his. And after many years of searching he too found the key to immortality which brought him much comfort since his subjects were mere mortals. He also knew the same was true for the people of Liana, Kyro, and Brisenia. That comforted him even more.

Though despite the fears and cries of his people he refused to change them the way his brothers and sisters had changed theirs. He knew that if he did they would be equal and it would give them a great chance to overpower him if one day they decided to rise against him. The only ones to inherit his power were his children. But as time would have it his children mixed their blood with the common so now a thousand years later all are descendants of him, and hold his power.

Now, in the modern age the world has changed dramatically. Many have forgotten the people of these Four Kingdoms. Humans are spreading and have become dominant. They don't believe in what they call fairytales and imaginations. The people of each Kingdom are also becoming numbered. On top of that a dreaded prophecy that has long since been foretold is coming true which means that descendants from each kingdom must rise and become allies with one another if they want to survive.
