Chapter 7: Unpacking

Finn forcefully drag his debilitated worn out body across the cold steel floor, Well ー It's not that cold anymore when the time, I killed that Direwolf, blood is all over the place.

After some few flailing, I'm now behind the wall surface. I laid my bareback on the wall and helplessly sighed.

'Huff..'

"Open Gift."

Finn murmured tiredly under his breath. A female voice in his head replied.

『Distrubuting 「Gift」to 「Finn Theraph」please wait ...』

The gift that 「F」sent me, She said that this can help me defeat the Hooded Goblin.

'Tring'

A brief light shone besides my left and appeared a set of potions and a box.

A box?

Finn thought to himself ー What can a box do to help me?

The appearance of the box looks very ancient and mysterious, one would be very curious by it's unusual design; It also has puzzling carvings as one would say "It's out of the ordinary".

Finn took the potions first, the potions was seperated in three types.

One: The red potionー It must be a healing potion; that will slowly help me regenerate my HP. I wonder what type of tier that is.

A healing potion has three kinds.

I : Low Grade Healing Potion.

It heals 20%.

II : Medium Grade Healing Potion.

It heals 50%.

III : High Grade Healing Potion.

It heals 70%

There's no such thing as a 100% healing potion, as it was impossible to make. If someone was eager to learn how to make a Full healing potion, it would take decades to reproduce atleast one of them.

Plus a healing potion is really expensive. One Low Grade Healing Potion cost more than 100$. It's a scamー people would prefer to hire a healer instead; But I can't blame them, to make a potion you need a lot of valuable materials and necessary equipments.

I better drink this, My body is a wreckーWith my abnormal regeneration, the effect of the potion would be a little more faster than usual.

I gulped down the healing potion, With one hand and felt a bitter taste in my mouthー So this is what a healing potion taste like.

Two : Mana potionsーAs the name called, It replenish your mana.

This one only has 2 types.

A low grade and a higher grade one, again it doesnt have a full mana potion, It was impossible to make one.

It's slightly cheaper than the price of a healing potion.

Low grade mana potion cost about 50$, and the high grade one cost 100$. As far as I know, to make a mana potion you need to have a magic crystal; or any type of materials imbued with large capacity of mana. Magic crystal is found anywhere in Gateways so it's easy to get.

The last one, I'm very unfamiliar with this one, It has different color other than the potion I know of, It has a purple potion. An amethyst colored liquid encased in a round glass vial.

Finn was clueless, I can't waste any more braincells, so I decided to ask 「F」about this.

People can easily be mistaken by this potion for being poisonous, because of its color visually.

"Hey F, Are you there?"

After drinking the healing potion, speaking is a lot more easier compared to last time, As expected healing potions are really exceptional.

「Yes Finn, I'm here; What is it that you need?」

"About the gift you giv- er... no first, Let me give you my thanks, I'm very grateful for the gift you gave me, So once I've survive this, I'll repay you somehow."

Finn bowed his head, This is an act of appreciation, I need to express my gratitude to her for ー giving me this valuable items and helping me survive thus far.

「Hehe~ No need for formalities, Finnー So is that it; Or do you need anything else?」

" Yeah, I have a question."

Finn showed the unidentified potion she gave him. 「F」replied with a "Oh~".

「Yes, I bought it for very cheap, I believe It's called Flask Of Enduranceー If you drink the all of it, It will improve all of your resistances level by 2 + 」

I've never heard of a potion that can increase all of your resistances, As far as I can get, the closest one that I can compare to it was the「Toughness Potion 」It can increase your durability by one level.

"Oh and this, What does this do?"

Finn carried the box into his arms; It was very light to carry, A person would be mistaken to think that it does not contain anything.

「I'm glad you asked, Finn!」

「F」by her way of talking, she seemed excited to talk about this specific item.

「That item you are holding, Is called the 「Predictum Item」ー It's a special item, You see? It can determine and evaluate the best suited weapon to use for combat for future events.」

「Predictum Item」 what a fascinating name, a person who likes this kind of thing would get excited just by hearing it.

「Oya? Finn, You don't seem excited?」

"er.. Should I be excited?"

Finn was confused at「F」question, honestly; he's not feeling excited nor happy about any of this, other than the feeling of anxious and fear; knowing he will have to face the Goblin after this.

"So how do I use this item?"

Finn avoided the question, And asked「F」with another question.

「Hm..」

「F」fell into deep contemplation and it just seemed weird, If herself doesn't know how to use the item she literally bought, that person would be deemed "Retarted."

「You just have to open the box.」

"Er..That's it?"

「Umu, That's all it..」

Weird, I was expecting more than that, should I say that I'm disappointed by it, Er... no no no no ーIt's the opposite, I should be grateful, you will never know what the box would want, just to have it open.

"You sure? It's not gonna suck my life force or anything?"

A brief silence between us, before she speaks again.

「 You don't trust me, After everything I've done for you!? I'm very disappointed in you!」

By her tone of voice, I could tell she's very angry at me, can't blame her; A person would get angry if that person saved a person life and would still not trust the savior, It's kinda inhumane.

"No no no no...it's not that I don't trust you, It's just.. you know?"

Everything I said is the truth, It's not that i don't trust her; I'm just very anxious about everything, All of the event is happening too fast, My tired brain can't keep up.

「Hahaー I'm just joking Finn, and I'm stating the truth, all you need to do is open the box and then 'POOF' you have a new weapon that is suitable for this event, It can help you fight the goblin!」

'Sigh.'

Finn held the chest and slowly his hand approached the 「Predictum Item」. 'Gulp..'

Finn swallowed his remaining airー as his soft fingertips touched the smooth unusual carvings.

'Tring.'

『Opening 「Predictum Item」...』

A bright light illuminated the little gap of the entrance box ーslowly as I open it, the light leisurely fades away.

Finn cold sweat dripped down from his forehead.

「What did you get Finn, Tell me!? Is it a bow to strike down foe from afar, No.. maybe a long sword, to behead enemies st once!」

"..."

「Finn is something wrong? Why did you go quiet all of the sudden.. Hey you're scaring me..」

"Why... did.. I.. get this..?"

Finn voice was very weak like he had lost all hope.

「What did you exactly get Finn?!」

Finn two hand went inside the box and pulled out a thick black book of some sort.

『Congratulations you got 「The Records Of the Nameless Grimoire」!!』
