87 Chapter 87: A Quick Kill

As they slowly but surely approached their target site, Godo began his obersevation. He first used 'Pin Point Locator' on the supplies, then looked around the vicinity to see if anything suspicious was there.

Surprisingly he didn't see much, thinking that maybe he didn't search wide enough, he expanded his searching area. Now he could see some people, and they didn't look friendly.

Because 'Pin Point Locator' was not a magic spell but something else entirely, the mages didn't feel Godo's eyes upon them. Not really minding the people who were outside the entrance, he proceeded to look inside the cave.

It was quite big, there were long and stretching passageways, some branching off here and there. And also, some prisoners. They looked to be adventurers with the clothing that they were wearing, and they seemed to be in good health, for now atleast.

Then he proceeded further and further. Until eventually, he arrived at the last room.

'Seems like the boss is here. And also, why are you putting your room at the deepest part of the cave?'

Godo thought. Well nobody could hear him anyway, so he went inside the room. A man was currently sleeping on the floor, Godo noticed the rather large sword lying besides him as well.

The room was rather well kept for a bandit leader's. He had 3 full bags of meat just lying around, and Godo also noticed some traces of magic being used on the large boulder sitting in the center of the room.

'What's this array here?'

He thought as he looked under the boulder. It was a magic array, doesn't look to be a powerful one though.

'Well. Researching is my thing'

Then he began to dismantle the contents of the array in great speed. Only took a minute, and on his 'Statistics' skill, it looked like this,

________________________________________

Name: Magic Array

Type: Disaster

Tier: D-Tier(Magical+)

Effects: Creates an earthquake in a small area

Side Effects: None

Requirements (Usage): Physical contact while chanting the words written on the array.

'Certainly, investigating it myself bore better and clearer results rather than just using my skill on it. This window here only tells me the necessary amount of information'

After looking at it a few more times, he decided to stop using 'Pin Point Locator', now he was back with Shuya and the others.

"I think i can see some stuffs lying around over there!"

Shuya shouted out, they all proceeded to look over to where Shuya was pointing. And yes, there indeed was a destroyed carriage over there. So without any second thoughts they walked over to it.

"Do you guys sense that?"

Godo asked as they were walking, this made the group confused. Folaei was the first to uncover it as she saw an arrow flying towards them.

"Everyone! Hide!"

But they didn't have enough time, even Folaei herself would not be able to dodge in time. So Godo came out and casted a spell, with his hands behind him,

"Wind Cutter"

The quickly approaching arrow began to slowly disappear as it was being cut into pieces.

The archer hiding behind the trees was certainly shocked to see this,

'Shit, did they not assess their ranks? Wait i forgot, we don't do that'

"Are you guys ok?"

Godo said as he also crouched down behind the bushes,

"Yes. We are fine."

Folaei replied with the three kids sitting besides her behind the trees.

Now this may be a bit sketchy. The arrow came from the other side of the forest, and there was an open road between them so they wouldn't be able to find out where the archer was even if they tried.

And there was also the threat of there being more archers and quite possibly swordsmen and knife wielders. Bandits usually lived in groups, and they were clearly bandits as only they would even try to kill people who came to retrieve some supplies. Well, there was also another thing they could do, retreat.

"Hey, should we go back?"

Godo asked. A moment of silence occured, and intensity slowly rose among them, including the archer hiding somewhere.

"Gramps? Can't you just cast a long range spell?"

"I can, but what about you guys? Will you be able to defend yourselves?"

The three kids and Folaei began to whisper amongst themselves.

"We'll be fine Sir Godo. So please, could you take care of the archer?"

Godo, smiling a bit and thinking,

'Bravery or Overconfidence? The former would be a nice one'

He nodded silently after that quick thought.

Suddenly he came out and held out his hand in a certain direction,

'Shit! He found me!'

The archer panicked, he quickly shot his arrow so as to not get hit by whatever spell the old man was about to cast. But it didn't work, and the arrow was destroyed by the wind after reaching a certain distance away from the old man.

"Shit! That level of precision. He's a mage above the 8th Grade! I need to warn the oth-"

(peww)

(splurt)

Blood, splurted on the trees, and around the grass. 'Shit!' man was dead.

"Stone Shot"

Godo said out loud. After that he quickly proceeded to observe the area. There was no one else.

'Did they believe in that archer that much that they didn't even feel the need to send a close combat personnel with him? Too bad he didn't even survive a minute'

He thought. Followed by him saying,

"It's fine to come out. There is no one else here."

Shuya was the first to come out, quickly and immediately. Seeing that nothing was happening, The other three also proceeded to come out onto the road.

"So, what are we going to do now?"

Rai asked.

"I think we should forget about the bandits for now, staying around here will just get us into more and more danger. Let's quickly bring the more important things with us and leave."

Godo replied quickly. The others also seemed to agree. So they quickly searched for important things in the destroyed mess that was there, then they quickly left.

On their way back, they were certainly more faster than they were on their way there. After leaving the 1st Zone, they began to calm down a bit.

They placed whatever things that they were carrying on them down to the ground, and they rested.

"What-huff, will happen to-hoof, the guy's-huuf, body?"

Shuya panted.

"He will probably be buried or burned by his fellow bandits."

Godo said, clearly not tired at all. Hearing him talk, the four of them realised yet again how much stronger he was as compared to them. Well, it yet again reignited the fire in them to train so it was fine.

"Let's get back to safety first-huff, we should leave some things here so that we can get back faster."

Folaei commented as she began to regain her stamina again.

"Give whatever you can not carry to me, I'll carry them."

Godo also commented as well.

"But Sir Godo, that will just make you slower. We should just leave some here, if you died all this would amount to nothing."

"Heh, I'm not that weak Miss Folaei, also thanks for worrying. But i can handle it."

Shuya gave some of his to Godo,

"I trust you gramps."

The other two did the same. Nene said that as she was flying, it helped her reduce some amount of fatigue, so she didn't give any to Godo. Nene was small to begin with so she wasn't carrying much, so Godo agreed. Then they began to run again.

Minutes passed and they reached the city walls. With the ring they recieved from the guild that showed that they were above C rank, the guards let them pass without any questions. The things that they were carrying also didn't really seem to make them care.

"I've seen worst anyway."

One of the guards muttered tiredly.

Well, back to the guild they went.

Somewhere In A Forest, With A Very Certain Elf Boy And His 4 Companions.

Inside the thick forest, an elf boy was currently walking around freely with his companions, Adori the Dog, Fith the Bird, Cran the Squirrel and Kree the Goblin.

He looked around the place as he walked, seemingly searching for things. After hours of walking, he suddenly saw a creature.

'A Wolf. Wait no, Wolves!'

Far into the depths of the bushes, he could see a pack of wolves. Without much thought, he began to lay low and he whispered,

"Let's get ready to attack them."

The 4 companions also began to lay low. They may still be far away from the reaches of the wolves, but animals like those had keen senses of hearing and smell, so they began to cover themselves as much as they could.

The Elf took up a stick from the ground, as quietly as he could, then he began to approach them.

Slowly, slowly but surely, the Elf group was slowly getting closer to the wolves.

(crunch)

There it was, a stack of leaves and sticks just below his feet. Seems like the universe didn't want the Elf to have a calm and silent hunt.

The wolves didn't even try to observe who the enemy was, they suddenly jumped and pounced to wherever they heard the sound was from.

"Dammit! I messed up!"

As the Elf shouted, the wolves had already reached closer than he thought. So he shouted out once again,

"SUBDUE!"

Instantly the pack of wolves whimpered and they fell to the ground. The Elf was surprised, panting, and his butt was hurting because of his fall to the ground.

"Huff huff. I almost died there."

He said as he rubbed his butt. After finishing rubbing his butt, he looked at the wolves, and thought for a while.

"Wait! Looking at how well 'Subdue' worked, can i make them my companions just like this?"

Well, he was a summoner and not a tamer, but it could still work.

"Well without further ado, let's name you guys!"

The Elf Boy said happily, the wolves also seemed to be rather calm. Just like that, he gained 6 wolves.

"And they're also 3 males and 3 females. Like a golden armor wearing purple titan guy once said, 'Perfectly balanced, as all things should be."

The Boy laughed a bit then he got on the wolf that seemed to be the biggest among them, then he commanded his group,

"Onwards, we continue."
