I

There is a very good spring morning, as a boy named Yuto Kosumaki starts to dress up. He wears a white dress shirt, a red tie, black pants, and black shoes. He puts on his backpack and also fixes his hair into a man-bun.

As he skips breakfast and starts walking towards the train station, which is very close, just a few blocks away, he passes through a crowd of people. As he does, he makes it to the station and gets on a train. He sits down on a train seat, opens his backpack, and reads his big book.

As he reads, he starts to whisper to himself, "I really like the dark and scary stuff that is going on in this book." His thoughts start to say, "To be honest, I didn't even read this book that much. I only just look at it and go to the next page without even reading the whole thing. But even so, the reason why I did it is because I have nothing else to do but go to some crap place."

As the train stops at Yuto's destination, he starts to get up, puts the book back in his backpack, carries it, and goes outside to walk towards the place he chooses.

As the wind starts blowing, it tousles his hair and even affects the students who are walking nearby. Among them is a student named Koushin Hasegawa. He smirks as four students confront him, saying, "What was that for!" Koushin casually scratches his nose and replies, "It was nothing, just testing my wind ability... that's all." One of the students asks, "But why here, and not at the academy, where you can test your full mira?" Koushin apologizes, saying, "Sorry, sorry, very sorry."

As Yuto walks past them, he whispers to himself, "Mira? Is that an energy source that people learn... but I need to hurry to the academy..."

As Koushin smirks and says, "We have to go to class before we get punished for good," one of the students starts screaming a little and says, "Yes, we have to hurry." They dash past Yuto, who is looking very bored and wondering what this academy could be like.

As Yuto looks up, he notices a bunch of students running towards the academy. He is a little shocked, his mouth opening slightly wide. His mind starts to think slowly, and his thoughts say, "Maybe there was a fight nearby the academy that everyone wants to watch or something... but it's not very fun to watch. I'd rather start a whole new academy experience that I haven't had during winter and summer."

Yuto continues walking, and a girl named Gyuri Inoue, who wears glasses, lifts them up and says, "Hey, run! What are you even doing?" Yuto responds, "Who are you?" Gyuri continues to run, ignoring him and thinking to herself, "Forget about that idiot. There's literally a reason why everyone is running, you know."

Yuto arrives at the academy and notices that there are no students or teachers around. The place looks completely empty. Yuto wanders around in confusion, pushing up his backpack. He says, "Is the school closed? But if it's closed, then why is the door open? Hmm... I guess I'll just go to class." His thoughts fade out as he says, "I just want to stay home, but my guardian kept nagging me to go, and I'm also feeling very hungry."

Yuto walks up the stairs and covers his mouth a little, noticing that there's no one here but himself. He walks to his assigned class, Class 1-C, and looks up at the door. He puts his hand on the door and knocks twice before quickly putting his hands back in his pockets, waiting. The murmuring inside the class quickly quiets down as the students feel a sudden shock.

The teacher, Mr. Luntao, named Luntao, opens the door with a serious face. Yuto can't help but have a bored expression. Luntao asks Yuto, "Why are you late?" Yuto stops itching his head and says, "I was late?" Luntao gives him a stern look and says, "This is bad for you. You're going to be sent to Yomotsuhirasaka." Yuto whispers, "Yomotsuhirasaka..." Luntao confirms, "Yes."

Multiple teachers come out of the classrooms, both upstairs and downstairs. Yuto looks around and asks, "Why are a bunch of teachers popping up?" Luntao asks, "What is your name, young man? Or do I have to discuss your personal information?" Yuto replies, "My name is Yuto Kosumaki... and I'm very new to this academy." Luntao and the other teachers express surprise, repeating, "New?" Yuto looks around with a confused face and says, "Yeah?"

As Mrs. Ozawa, the teacher, lifts up her hand and points it at Yuto, he notices a gust of wind from her mira pushing him, causing him to slide off the edge of the academy wall and onto the floor. He slowly turns around and asks, "What was that for?" Mrs. Ozawa crosses her arms and replies, "That's for being late."

Yuto's mind is filled with confusion as he asks, "Okay? So what is this place like? Is this where the president is? Or is it just detention?" Another teacher named Mrs. Kobayashi interrupts and says, "Quit the act, boy! If you were really new to this academy, you should have followed the students who were also running." Yuto gets up, brushes off his clothes, and looks up at the teacher, saying, "I thought it was just about an academy fight." Mrs. Kobayashi whispers, "An academy fight...?"

Mrs. Kobayashi becomes a little angry and asks Yuto, "Didn't someone warn you about this?" Yuto scratches his head and replies, "Yeah, but when I asked her who she was, she didn't respond and just kept running. So I continued walking." Mrs. Kobayashi whispers to herself, "Is this boy dumb?" All the teachers, including Mrs. Kobayashi, declare, "That's it, you're going to Yomotsuhirasaka."

Yuto raises his hand and asks, "What is Yomotsuhirasaka?" Mrs. Ryu, one of the teachers, steps forward and explains, "It's a place filled with incredibly powerful monsters that devour anything they come across, including humans like us. It's like a land of the dead, a vast forest with only a 4.1% chance of survival. Your weak mira is useless against those beasts." Yuto scratches his chin and says, "Sorry, I could barely understand what you said. Can you summarize it in 15 words or less?"

Mrs. Ryu blushes in anger, and two Saints appear, using their mira abilities to trap Yuto in invisible mira cuffs. Yuto's hands feel stuck, and he says, "Why does my first day have to end like this?" The Saints approach Yuto and punch him in the stomach, rendering him unconscious. Gyuri Inoue, a student from Class 1-C, says, "It must be that idiot..."
