weird plans.

"How?" She asked, her face the definition of shock.

How could anyone believe a new blacksmith could make something like this. She was holding nothing but a common hoe, but the way he made it was... Effortlessly.

"I just can." I said with a shrug.

She hurriedly took something out of her pocket and place it on my chest.

"What the-"

She quietly whispered a few words and then looked at the feathers looking pin.

"Nothing." She said looking glad.

'Did this lady just try to exercise me?'

I thought looking at her weirdly.

'Well glad to know this universe considers me a resident or something.'

"But how?" She whispered again but this time mostly to her self.

"Sigh. Wait till I shove this in his face." With a grin the nun turns to me with an honest smile.

"You are either gifted or... Something, don't tell anyone about this if they ask, just say I gave you some books on forging."

With that she hurriedly walked out.

Honestly I didn't plan to hide my skills or anything.

As she walks out I think to myself 'Welp, here goes life, again.'

....

It's been around three months now and am already getting some attention, mostly from the farmers.

Currently I am handing over a hoe head, to one of my 'Favourite customer!' obviously it was a fluke, he simply had something the others didn't, value. " Here you go, this should last for while."

The man smiled. he looked to be around his mid 30. "Thanks Jac, that should be 3 silver right?"

"One will do Mr. Trek." I said with my most friendly smile I could put on.

With a raised eyebrow he asked if I was sure.

"Absolutely."

"Alright then, thanks for the work."

As my last customer walked out I breathed a sigh relief. The past few months have been nothing but tiring. Although my mind new how to work the metal, my body was still trying to catch up.

At the very least my stamina was quite good.

I walked out of the hut. Planning to head home, there was no need to lock the place, simply because, no one stole in this village.

'no ambition at it's finest.' with no idea what to do with the stolen goods there was no reason to steal in the first place.

Sitting on my bed which I had improved with some wool filled sheets I sat down. Using some flint and steel I turned on the oil lamp next to the bed.

Taking out a book from behind my pillow, I got comfortable.

From this book I learned a few things; number one was my location, specifically 'our' kingdom, a place called Ratey named after the first king.

Second and the most interesting was the calendar, currently we where in the 107 of the magic calendar. Two key words here, the first one obviously being 'magic' and the second being 'hundred' this meant magic had only existed for just slightly more than a century.

So far in my research, I have found no mention of wizards, mages and the such. Meaning they either don't exist yet or are hiding.

I had asked the nun about the magical tools she could use, and she only said the tools themselves where made by one of there saints and where mass produced items for short range communication.

'This world keeps giving me questions, but where are the answers?' with that I dosed of, book still in hand.

The next morning I woke up with the normal teenage dread... morning wood, 'its time to reap what I have sown.

Instead of heading straight to smith I took a turn heading out of the village. Looking at the now appearing farm land I took a turn to a near by farm land, it was much smaller than the rest.

I new the reason for this but now was not the time. Standing in from of a shabby looking house I gave a soft knock.

Soon after the door swung open with the most horrible sound. "Jac? What can I do for you?"

The woman Infront of me was Treks wife. she was a poor thing, her husband was a menace known throughout the village for his large temper.

I smiled looking at her "I wanted to talk about something with you ma'am, is Mr. Trek around?"

"Yes of course, Sana can you call your father. He should be feeding the mule." And with that said, Came a reply "Coming."

Shortly after a girl squeezed through the door, she was a small little thing barely 5'5 (165cm) she had orange-brown hair, and light brown eyes are body screamed 'feed me.' I couldn't help but stare at her as she left.

"What did you want to talk about?"

With an awkward smile I answered sheepishly "huh, it's best if we wait for Mr. Trek."

After waiting for less than ten minutes Trek finally should up. "Jac? what can I do for you?" He asked while grabbing a wooden spoon and scooping so water out of a Cray pot.

"Can we talk inside?" I asked.

He looked at me strangely before urging me to enter. To sum up the place; it was a dump, the only difference between the outside and the inside of the house was roof.

We sat on wooden stool chairs, in what I would guess is the living Room? The Mrs came holding a bucket looking pot and some wooded cups.

She poured some warm milk for Trek and myself before pulling a stool for herself.

"Now, what's this all about?"

Deciding to straight forward with someone like Trek was the best choice here, and so; "I want your daughter."

And like I thought the man was not a thinker. "How much?" One of the rules of negotiation was to declare what you want if you were the one with the goods.

"Am not an idiot, I saw how you looked at her the first time you saw her. Not to mention the sudden change in attitude towards me." He said looking pleased with himself.

'Actually you are.' I couldn't help but think to myself.

"Three gold." I said hesitantly lifting four fingers. "Four." He fired back. "Three and a half, final offer." I said with a frown.

"Deal." He said with a grin.

Before coming here I had planned everything. I did my research on bride prices with the help of the nun. The common price was five gold, but that was only from good houses, a poverty ridden house like this would be happy with two gold coins, but the bastard of a man that was Trek was stubborn, and would always want more.

And if you are thinking why put in the effort for this specific family?

I checked most of the girls in the village, the single ones of course, they were either to expensive or had bad maintenance, and by that I mean either bad hygiene; especially oral, or simply to old for me.

I was currently 16! I was not going to take my with an STD ridden twenty something year old. So for my safest option, which was a young and ordinary girl from a 'normal' family

With a fake pained look I asked "When can I expect her?"

"When you pay." As his words fell so did the coins, all 350 silver. With a smile he hurriedly grabbed the cloth and started counting.

As he was busy counting a voice came from the door. "Father am done with milk, should I take mule to the field?"

Her mother stood up walking towards her, "no dear can you get the spring roots we get breakfast going."

By the looks of it her mother wanted to tell her the news. 'guess am not meeting her today.'

Yeah since I saw two months ago I haven't had any conversation with her.

I got up the moment he finished counting. "The wedding will be tomorrow. And it's not a public one."

I walked out the house and looked around. From afar I see the mother lecturing my soon-to-be wife.

With a sigh headed to my work. Currently everything was already in place, I had already bought a new place inside the village, furniture was being made by the village carpenter.

I had already discussed with the nun about the wedding she would send her apprentice Anna to formalize the whole thing.

'Only thing left is to wait.'
