Chapter 43

Uriel couldn't just bring himself to tell Olia Isema that his head is aching and throbbing after hearing some voice that could've been illusionary.

He just let out a weak expression and told her that he's already tired.

She immediately suggested going home, which he gladly agreed to.

"We've maximized our tickets anyway," She said as they're walking out of the amusement park. "It's good that you told about it earlier or you could've been more exhausted. It wouldn't be good for your health, especially your brain. It's quite crucial to take care of since you're trying hard to remember your lost memories."

"Why did I even lose it in the first place?" He whispered to himself.

As far as he knows, the last thing that his past self had done was to allegedly pretend to have a stomachache. That happened right after his parents died in a car accident.

Then what? Was he brought to the hospital? What happened at the hospital?

Was that the place where he lost it?

As he goes deeper with his questions, he had also pondered what those peculiar words meant when he heard it inside his head.

It couldn't have been his own doing.

Else, it wouldn't make sense at all.

Going to the amusement park next time, then going somewhere safer and warmer for now. It meant he asked that woman that he wanted to go there for some reason, he thought.

He's sure enough about his family going to that amusement park, though – considering that the picture he has with him exists.

When they returned to the inn, he went straight to the bed and closed his eyes.

He didn't care what the old woman would think of right now since he's focusing on what he can ponder.

It might be a missing piece to his jigsaw puzzle.

Since he doesn't have much, he's hoping for any piece to appear to be crucial enough to solve all the other parts without having to search for them.

Drowned at his own thoughts in the darkness, he unconsciously fell asleep and relied on whatever he might dream of. The memories could've just been misplaced somewhere and just needs some time to be recovered. Even if it's in tatters or it's ruined.

He was willing enough to deal with however horrifying it brings to him. He thought he'd had enough.

The next day, Uriel felt disappointed as nothing changed or progressed since the voice he heard. There were no eureka and dreams just as he had before.

They ate breakfast at the cafeteria, had some fresh morning air through the open window, and explored around the town.

Most of the things they did were just some routines that only the old people would enjoy. Olia Isema was quiet the whole time, so he decided to bring up that he wanted to go back to the house where she once lived.

The old woman, as expected, agreed to what he wanted and called out for a taxi to bring them there.

"I'll stay here outside," She croaked. "You go in and explore as much as you want."

"Won't your feet get sore?" Uriel worriedly asked. "I might take my time exploring inside, you know. It's better if you could rest."

"No, I like the view here from outside much better since I have lots of nostalgic memories here. Besides, I love seeing the school over there. Reminds me of youth back in the days."

"Well, whatever. Do whatever suits you, grandma."

He remembered those kids she was talking about when he first resided with her.

If he remembers it right, they were aspiring to be idols or superstars. He shrugged it off and went inside the house.

He went up the second floor and entered one of the rooms he hadn't seen yet.

It was the one he was supposed to go to before going down the backyard to see the flowers.
