Chapter 40

While Uriel sipped on his orange juice after eating his porridge and Olia Isema drinking her tea after munching her French bread, she suddenly opened up something oddly interesting.

"Would you like to go to the amusement park?"

Uriel was taken by surprise with that, but didn't show it in his expression. He just stared at her, waiting for an explanation and further details.

"I just thought that it's a great place to let off some steam while trying to make progress with your lost memories," She said. "I mean, that's where you and your family went before they died. Something might ring a bell from it. And even if nothing comes up, you can just enjoy yourself with the attractions and rides."

He was quite astounded. It was hard for him to let sink the fact that he'll be going to that 'land of happiness' he so desired of.

"Well?" She asked.

Uriel looked down for a while, then back again at her.

"But is that really alright?"

"Of course! We can just buy tickets there. It's a bit early for now, but we can go there in the afternoon."

"T-Thank you," He shyly said.

Olia Isema let out a smile and patted his head. "Now, don't you cry or frown now, okay? You've done quite enough of that last night. Just smile and try to be happy from now on."

Somehow, from Uriel's perspective, the old woman's smile is starting to look genuine.

It didn't look creepy or wrinkly anymore. He could just see the genuine kindness that she had been showing off to him all this time.

He felt quite guilty of suspecting her and doubting her for a long, long time when she had undoubtedly helped him get to his feet.

He could've died, but she saved him, he thought.

He could've been in so much danger, but she reached out a hand, he thought.

His guts had been antagonizing her, but impressions might really be just that false.

Uriel thought he might've instinctively felt that way since the last memory he had with her was when he allegedly pretended to be sick. It upset her so much that she must've unconsciously let out an ill intent that he sensed.

If that's what happened, then all these strange somersaulting impressions made sense. That was all in the past anyway, so he tried, with all his best, to put his trust on her.

After breakfast, they went back to their room and had their rest.

And as soon as the afternoon came when the amusement park nearby was finally opening its business, both of them went to it and availed the tickets.

"Don't I also need a stamp to enjoy their rides and attractions?" Uriel innocently asked, showing off and shaking his wrist as he observed Olia Isema's stamp.

The old woman shook her head, "No, don't worry about it. I already paid for your entrance and since I'm your guardian, we can share this stamp on me. Well, shall we try out the rides then?"

Uriel couldn't hide his inner child impulses and nodded with so much enthusiasm and excitement.

As he looked out at the distance, seeing how colorful and cheerful this place is, he was quite afraid to forget what his main purpose was.

"I have to be kind with the things I'm afraid of," He whispered to himself with a sly smile.
