51 Katie's Last Struggle

Katie still could not move her body even after hearing Cathy's voice as the girl entering the room. Katie was relieved that at least they didn't hurt Cathy for now.

But Katie could barely contain her emotions when Aiden gave Cathy a problematic choice.

Her best friend must choose between the lives of her three younger siblings in Red Rosemary or save Katie.

Aiden planted a bomb inside Red Rosemary that would kill Cathy's whole family if she chooses to save Katie. But if Cathy wished to protect her family, then Cathy need to inject a poison injection to Katie.

Katie knew that her best friend loved her younger siblings. Katie didn't mind at all if Cathy chose to inject poison into her body. She will die soon, after all. Die in twelve years later or now was no different for her.

She was already dead the minute the seal was broke.

But who would have known Cathy would cry. She cried for her. Cathy has never cried before. The girl was always tough and could solve problems smoothly. Even Katie herself had never seen her best friend look weak or cry. She was hearing the cries of her best friend made her heart bitter. She cried in her heart.

Katie really didn't care if she died. Moreover, her fate has been foredoomed since the orb sealing her power was broke. She will die young. It really was no different dying now or twelve years later.

Maybe she just felt sorry for not being able to meet with her Umbra. She also felt sorry for having to make her parents feel sad because of her death. She also felt sorry for not being able to meet and would never know what her biological mother or father's face looked like.

But if she compared her sorry to Cathy's regret and sadness when she lost her three younger siblings, or when confronted with her death because Cathy had injected the poison, her remorse feeling was utterly incomparable.

Cathy has done a lot for her. Cathy faithfully continues to support her. Even when there were rumors about her utilizing Cathy's wealth, Cathy still believed her and continued to be her friend.

If there was no Cathy at Trinity, Katie didn't know if she could get good memories from her school days. If there were no Cathy accompanied her during college who continued to support her and motivated her to apply for an agency, Katie would not be a famous singer like now.

Katie, who was often careless and always forgot to eat when she was busy practicing, it was Cathy who reminded her. She even brought food to her at the agency.

For Katie, Cathy is the figure of a friend, sister, and mother in her life. She would not blame Cathy if the girl preferred to save her younger siblings instead of her. But when Cathy cried and threw away the poison syringe, Katie's felt touched and warm. She increasingly made her decision to choose death.

And when she finally managed to move her body, she took the needle and thoughtlessly injected it into her arm.

Of course, Cathy scolded her, and in the end, they cried together. Katie also cried at the same time, tried to keep her emotions from getting out of control and destroying this place.

Not long after they were satisfied to cry, Aiden appeared and cleverly made Cathy agree to follow him.

As soon as Katie was left alone in the warehouse, Katie ran her eyes across the room. She rummaged through the boxes to find something she could use to escape and help her friend. Sadly, she could not move swiftly because her entire body was covered with wounds.

Not long after, Katie felt dizzy and in her body felt extraordinarily hot. A second later, she felt unusual drowsiness. Is it possible the poison has started working? But it hasn't been two hours yet.

Katie chuckled, annoyed at something. Aiden is a liar. He must have lied when he said she would be sleepy in two hours. In fact, it hadn't even been an hour since the man threatened Cathy. But now, she felt sluggish, and her body became limp.

She sat down, leaning her head against an iron pole. She vaguely heard footsteps and the door opened, followed by several people coming in.

"The boss says we can do anything to her." exclaimed one of them.

Katie bit her tongue, trying to stay awake. Is there an end to the cruelty of the devil?

Katie tried to stand up to fight. She will not give up to the end. She will continue to fight until her last drop.

Katie bit her tongue with pain all over her body until blood escaped her lips. She tried her best to struggle. But her energy had been depleted, not to mention the effects of the poison that had begun to react.

In the end, Katie collapsed and helplessly lying down on the ground. Before she completely lost consciousness, she heard a gunshot.
