A Talk and A Walk Part 1.

"Do you have a name?"

"A name? No. I have lived for centuries and it wasn't until recently that I was even able to speak, let alone give myself a name. If I were to pick one from the human language, then I would be named similarly to a deer from your planet." The giant beast said while walking through the rift.

Alex was forced to look at the deer's back as every time he looked into the rift he got nauseous.

"If I were to go by your standards, then just calling me human will be fine." Alex said after thinking for a moment.

'It said it just recently learned how to speak. Did whoever sent it to me teach it? No, it said it was able to recently, meaning it couldn't beforehand. Some type of magic that helps to understand languages maybe.'

"Is your name not Alex?" The deer asked while looking back at him.

"It is. Names have very little meaning where I'm from, the only use for most people is to be able to be differentiated from the rest. Some have names that hold a title, names that have value, that they share with their ancestors. My name, my name holds nothing. So you can call me human, I'm no different from the rest."

"No different? On that planet none were exactly like you. Why should it be a names job to differentiate?"

"Hm, maybe your right. Are there many like you where you are from?" Alex asked

The giant deer nodded.

"An entire… herd. I have many children, grandchildren, and descendants. I have watched over them for countless years."

"How is it, watching over them for so long? If I had children, I wouldn't live long enough to see many of my descendants."

The deer turned its head to the human on its back. "It's calm most of the time. There are many other beasts who like to feed on my children. It's not easy, knowing that I can't protect them all. No matter how fast or strong I am."

"There are many beasts on my planet with short lifespans. They gain strength fast but they have no strong protectors behind them. I am blessed to be able to look after the younger generations."

Alex nodded before asking the question that he had been holding back. "Who was it that asked you to bring me?"

The deer shook its head.

"I know not who or ever what asked me, I only heard a voice, a strange one at first, but soon after I understood what it said, and I saw a rift appear next to me which led to you."

"I guess I'll find out when we exit this rift."

'Are these rifts what beasts come through to get to earth during replenishments? Have people gone through them before?' Alex thought as he felt something different.

"We are close." The deer spoke up.

Alex eyes were forced closed as a bright light approached them.

When he passed through he noticed that he was no longer on the deers back.

"So, how was it? everyone always says that rifts are incredibly uncomfortable, hopefully having a guide lessened that feeling." A voice asked Alex after he exited.

"It was fine, when I didn't look I didn't feel nauseous. Alex said while rubbing his eyes."

He looked up and almost lost consciousness from what he saw.

There was one person in front of him but he saw countless people staring back at him, all in the same place.

"How?" Alex said while he stumbled back finding nothing to hold.

"You can already see the truth." The figure said while looking at Alex with.

"This may be the first time I've spoken with you Alex, but this isn't the first time I've spoken with you."

Alex was confused for a moment before he felt a headache assault his head. He saw a man who looked similar to him standing in front of himself black hair, a handsome face and strong complexion. Alex heard the same voice speaking to the man.

'This isn't the first time we have spoken.'

It changed once again. A woman this time, black hair and the same mannerisms.

'This isn't the first time we have spoken.'

Alex closed his eyes as he saw many men and woman standing before him. His perception changed as he took their place and looked at the figure in front of him.

"Were they me?" Alex said as he looked at the figure before him.

"Yes and no. Same soul, but they have long since died and been born again through the fire of reincarnation. They are more like your siblings."

"Fire of reincarnation?" Alex asked after a moment of taking it in.

The figure nodded. "A broken mechanism that still needs to be fixed. You are one of the few who contains a soul that can travel through and live again. As of right now it acts like a lake of fire, trapping the souls of the dead."

Alex mood dropped as he was finally connecting his thoughts. "The same lake of fire from the holy book? Are you god?"

Alex's thoughts were drowned as the darkness around him came to life.

(Youuuuu, you are the reason we died.)

(My wife, my kids, taken from me because of you.)

Alex held his head in agony as countless souls looked at the figure before them with anger, regret, and countless emotions before they came together and asked the question that went through everyone's head.

"Why?" Alex muttered the one thought that filled his mind.

The figure sighed before motioning Alex to follow it.

Alex walked behind the figure, the souls finally quieting down.

"Do you see all of these stars?" The figure asked.

Alex nodded.

"Every single one, was put in place by me. Many have lived and died and many have been killed off by stronger forces."

"This planet below our feet, I have brought it into existence countless times. Look down more closely do any of these creatures look familiar."

Alex looked down at the planet, he could see several beasts covering the world.

A giant winged lizard sat atop the largest mountain on the planet. It looked up as if feeling prying eyes, fire spewed from its mouth as it roared into the sky.

He could see a humanoid figure walking among the ginormous trees. The trees which should have towered above it seemed as if they were just regular trees. It looked around sniffing the air before lifting a large Boulder the size of a hill and rolling it over, using it as a chair.

"Giants and dragons. Creatures from fairytales."

He looked down and saw a giant deer watching its children from above.

"This planet just came into existence today and yet earth has stories about it. Do you know why Alex?"

"No I don't."

"Because this isn't the first time, I create and create, but this universe is broken. A small reflection of what it once was. In time it will all shatter again and reset, forcing me to recreate it."

"I may have not helped all of you in this life, just know that I have before, countless times. But helping never fixed this fractured reality. I know how much you all hate me. It's warranted and I deserve so much more hate. I have been recreating everything from scratch hoping that someone or something can help me repair this universe."

'It's all happened before. It's all broken, this figure created a world like this in just one day.' Alex thought as he looked at the deer who outnumbered his age by many times.

'How many people could be told this and believe it?' Alex thought.

"Not many, you are the only one who has seen how time works." The figure said answering Alex's thought.

"To answer your question, I am god, a god, the one and only surviving god in this broken universe."

"There are many who say that the universe started with an explosion. Is this the same as the shatter that resets it?" Alex asked.

"You are much more smarter than your past incarnations Alex. Questions that would have been asked later come earlier and earlier, but you are already nearing all of the end." The figure said in a somber tone.

The setting warped instantly and Alex saw a city. There wasn't a drop of shade whatsoever but even still Alex's eyes didn't get blinded by the light.

'A utopia.' Alex thought while looking at the scenery.

"Gorgeous isn't it. No one city, village, or town could compare. I took inspiration from everyone's comfort. Here is the place where many souls will come to rest when the prophecy is fulfilled."

The figure walked along a soft road and sat a bench. "Heaven, that's what you humans call it, but for every heaven there is a hell."

Alex sat down as well.

For a moment he saw a dark and ugly place lit by small flames. He saw many warped figures walking around. He stopped himself from gagging as he saw human figures that were covered in sores and wounds. He could see that the fire and darkness was consuming them. They wailed as their souls were consumed and used as fuel for the foul fire and darkness.

"The poor souls that he has already gotten ahold of. It's not right I know, but, we'll let me start from the very beginning." The figure sighed as it collected its thoughts.

"Before reality was broken, it wasn't. I am the only living being that survived the explosion. And only because I was strong, stronger than everyone else. A human that had ascended to the highest of heights and even created one of the primordial elements, light."

"I was consumed by it. I always looked up further and further uncovering the secrets of reality. True light seeks to uncover secrets, and that I did, stronger and stronger. I could see the every corner of the reality that birthed me. It wasn't enough though, once you become that powerful, you feel, you feel trapped. Eventually, I was able to see beyond the large cage, what I saw was another me. Not the same appearancewise but our souls were made from the same mold. I kept on looking and there were countless other me in separate realities. Each one of them stuck in the same trap."

"With a certain magic I was able to cross over and merge my souls. Millions, billions I lost count of how many there were. It came to the point that I was able to see all of the realities with a glance."

"I would wave my hand and countless stars would explode. My power was endless, but it eventually reached a limit. I felt the cages shaking rattling, at first I thought I was finally going to break free. But, then I saw all of the destruction, planet fell apart gravity no longer held them together, stars no longer produced light. Life everywhere was dying. I tried to contain all of my energy but it wasn't enough."

"Half, half of all reality was destroyed. All because of me. Where we are is just a giant graveyard." The figure said with a sigh.

"Only half?" Alex asked.

The figure nodded. "Even though I am not happy, I succeeded. This reality is endless, there is no cage, no end, just nothing. I have been trying to keep it alive but every time it seems to go well, it all falls apart. The only hope I have is to reconnect this reality with the rest."

"But how do you see the other sides if you can't see the end? Right now even I feel small and insignificant."

"To be frank, my hope resides in humanity. The same beings I created in my own image, or images." The figure said with a chuckle.

"I will explain that in a bit though first I want you to hear about everything.

"Joshua, come."

Alex looked up from the beautiful grass and saw a door opening from across the street. A man who looked to be in his thirties stepped out and walked in their direction.

"This is my son, I'm sure that my spirit has shared his story with you, I can feel it's presence within you."

Alex nodded his head. 'Spirit?'

He looked at the man in front of him. He radiated a feeling of calmness, care, and compassion.

The figure stood up and so did Alex.

"Hello Alex, it's nice to finally meet you." Joshua said with an extended hand.

Alex took his hand and tried to shake it but he was pulled in for a hug. Joshua kissed the side of Alex's face before looking at him with a happy smile.

"It's how people of his time greeted each other, they called it the holy kiss. Usually only given to those who know each other, but he likes to make exceptions as there are none he doesn't know." The god said to Alex.

"Let's go, I have much to show you." He said as he turned to walk off to a large structure.

Alex felt compelled to walk with him, he turned to look for the god next to him only to notice he was gone.

Alex followed Joshua as began to hear what sounded like singing.
