1 The Take Off

1 January, 2030

The world economy was at it's lowest and the American Government knew it had to do something, as they remembered how the Apollo missions helped the economy for decades they decided to do something, this time it had to be at a large scale not something as simple as Moon landings which other countries have been doing each year. They had to do something big. Something very big, The congress decided to pass NASA's demand for extra 25 Billion Dollars to Support a Crewed Mars Mission by 2032 and Had Nasa Start the work Instantly.

2 Years Later:

12 July, 2032

The time has come. the time the whole world has been waiting for, It was the day the first Human Mars mission would launch. People from all around the world had gathered near the Kennedy Space Center as the world anticipated the launch of the crewed Mars mission named "Morpheus".

The astronauts selected to go to Mars were in the space shuttle already, the name of the astronauts hadn't been revealed Yet to the public. Suddenly, the huge display attached to Kennedy Space Center Flashed and there came the announcement everyone had been waiting for, The video started with NASA's Chief Announcing That the take off has been delayed by a day due to some technical issues, later in the same video he announced the name of the five astronauts who were going to step foot on Mars, the astronauts were: "Sandro Bergling, Tim Cavazza, Ben Nora, Nick Jayson and John Kelly." Then the Display went blank and the whole World waited till the next day for the Launch.

13 July, 2032

The World woke up early this day as they were excited for the launch that was about to take place. Everyone was glued to their TV screens or to their mobile with a news app open. It was 1:00PM, Suddenly the display lit up again it was NASA'S chief this time announcing that the launch would take place in 35 minutes, as people heard this news they rose up with Joy and left all the work they were doing and started waiting for the launch, Meanwhile NASA's chief was on his way to meet the brave astronauts that were on their way to Mars, He met them in the Spacecraft, wished them luck and then went to Kennedy Space Center to Talk with The people, He reached Kennedy Space Center five minutes before the launch and the countdown on the screen started as the countdown finished a live broadcast came up showing the Launch, The launch was successful as time passed by everything was fine and people returned to their normal routine.

15 July, 2032

It has been 2 days since launch and everything was fine, Nothing bad had happened, yet. It was only till mid day that Sandro spotted a problem he saw that the solar panels which supported a large variety of systems of the Spacecraft's connection was cut off they informed it to NASA at Earth and awaited their decision.

Their fate would be decided in the next chapter.
