1 The Genius Huang Yang

As the sun began to set, the night came over the simple Huang family, yet the noise coming from the main hall slowly washed away the peace of the night. Shouts rang out from old and young voices as if they were fighting their own war amongst themselves.

The six-year-old Huang Yang kneeled behind his father, who's back seemed bigger than a mountain, protecting him from the wrathful winds. While he felt happy, anger was still welling up within the stomach of the young boy. He may be young, but his life had been filled with hate from his fellow Huang family members. Like the rest of his family members, his hair was brown along with his eyes, yet his background differed.

An old wanderer had found him within the bloodied fields late at night, as lightning had descended without warning, striking a golden object not far from the old man. It vanished and revealed Huang Yang, who still showed signs of life.

A tombstone had revealed his name, "... Huang Yang", the old man had whispered to himself. He was a martial expert from the Radiant Sword sect and had heard about the Huang family before, which led him to their doorstep.

No family member knew about this child, yet the second young master of the family, Huang Shi took him in as his own, seeing as he had no child himself. He and his wife Xiao Shu would from then on show him love. This did not change even after the birth of their own biological child Huang Xianjun.

Years passed, and he was supposed to live a peaceful life within the family, yet this would soon change, as he began showing martial talent at the early age of three. Since then, he would feel the hate from his peers and experience the torturous training brought to him by his elder. It may seem like training, but in truth, his body would experience long term damages, had it not been stopped by the patriarch, his adoptive grandfather.

The hate from some family members continued until this day, where the Huang family had grown due to the talent of his father and first uncle, Huang Qiang. The family had now gotten an enormous opportunity, a young boy would be able to marry the granddaughter of the Yan family patriarch. They just needed to choose the most talented youth they could find. This would, however, be Huang Yang.

"How can we send a bastard like him to marry a daughter of heaven?!", shouted Huang Qiang. His son Huang Long was ahead of Huang Yang by 3 years, yet even a blind person could see his inferiority. Huang Qiang hated his brother's adopted child, as he was simply too talented.

"Are you an imbecile brother?!" Roared Huang Shi as his aura was released, startling Huang Qiang. "My son is the greatest talent this family has ever seen, even surpassing me, you, and our third brother", he said with a stern voice.

By his side a young man nodded along, this was Huang Hao the youngest of the three young masters. He had talent and power himself, yet would not shout when arguing, as his personality seemed far calmer. Besides this, he also saw Huang Yang as his favorite nephew.

"That little brat is not part of the family, he is trash picked up by a senior!!", yelled Huang Qiang, while Huang Long encouraged him from behind. Some lower members of the family would always agree with them on this part.

"Enough!!", shouted an old voice as pressure began to spread out from the surroundings. The voice came from the end of the room.

Sitting upon a throne was an old man, his grey hair fell down his back, while his ashen facial hair gave off an old and careless feeling. This was the family patriarch Huang Canfeng.

"Father!", said the three brothers, as their backs unknowingly straightened. Huang Yang and Huang Long immediately turned their heads back down towards the floor, each with their own feelings growing in their hearts.

They each swallowed some saliva before respectfully saying, "grandfather!". Even a weak voice sounded out from behind Huang Hao.

This was his little daughter Huang Mei, the little star of the Huang family. She and Huang Yang were not far apart in age and, therefore, saw each other as siblings. They would often play when time permitted it, yet some family members wanted to keep them apart, due to them not accepting him.

"I want every single youngster and elder to gather outside... Now!!", bellowed the old patriarch in rage. Luckily the family wasn't that big. Patriarch Canfeng only had a brother and sister, one had two children, while the other only gave birth to one.

The young masters and their children each hurried outside, all of them being somewhat frightened. Soon they had all gathered. As the patriarch walked out of the main hall, two elderly looking family members joined him.

To his right stood his younger brother Huang Hong, "What is it elder brother?", he asked in a steady tone.

"Why did you call for a family meeting?", asked the elderly woman to his left. Huang Ran was the young sister of the two elders and was always loving towards the younger generation of the family.

"This family has disappointed me... especially you, younger brother Hong!", said the patriarch with anger showing across his face, making Huang Hong shutter all over. "Wh- What are you talking about brother?", asked Huang Hong with a shaking voice.

"You and your children, even your grandchildren will be the ruin of our family, can you not see this?!", Canfeng said as flames seemed to emerge from his eyes.

"Huang Yang may not be of my blood, yet he is my grandson. He may end up as the hope of our family, yet you try to destroy him!!", A lion began forming from flames by his side, "We are a family of fire, we all strive to be lions amongst men".

The lion let out a roar, raising the temperature of the surrounding areas. The lion's body had a dark red color, while the flames leaving its body went from bright red to yellow, before mingling with the air above its head. It showed its sharp glowing teeth and bright red eyes, as it looked at others like they were nothing more than prey.

The two generations stood beneath in awe of the scene. Huang shi felt uplifted along with Huang Hao, yet Huang Qiang showed a brief moment of anger, before covering it up. Besides the three brothers stood the children of the other two elders. Huang Wei looked back with a smile at Huang Yang. His mother was the female elder Huang Ran and cared a great deal about Huang Yang.

The last of the same generation as his father was a man and woman. The children of elder Huang Hong, named Huang Rou, and Huang Lang. They lowered their heads, seriously thinking about their mistakes.

"Tell me, why are we being short-sighted and narrow-minded, when we should reach towards the sky!!", roared Canfeng as his lion ran towards the clouds, letting its flames spread across the courtyard, creating a majestic scene.

Behind his father, Huang Yang held back his tears, yet he could not cover up the joy welling up within his heart. He could feel the changes in every gaze landing on him. This was what power could do, it could bring change. If he hadn't experienced the hate of his peers, he would not have noticed this before.

From this moment on, a young boy at the age of six could think of nothing more than the possibility of obtaining power, in order for him to change the world into his own happy image.

Letting out a deep sigh, the second elder said, "You are in the right dear brother, we have been short-sighted". The words were followed with nods from the crowd.

"Huang Yang, step forward", said the patriarch in a gentle tone. Normally he would have no chance of doing this, yet today things had changed, because now he could show them the talent of this grandson of his.

Huang Yang took a deep breath before going around his father, in between him and his uncle Hao. He felt his father's warm hand touch his shoulder, before looking up and seeing a reassuring smile upon his father's lips. Huang Shi's lips formed five words in quick succession, 'show them what you got'.

A warm feeling spread inside Huang Yang's chest, following him until he arrived at the front of the crowd. He bent his upper body, as a sign of respect towards his grandfather the patriarch. "Sword", said the patriarch.

A sword came flying towards Huang Yang from the side, with a quick glance he saw that the person who threw it was his mother, Xiao Shu, with her light brown hair and blue eyes, standing with his younger brother Huang Xianjun. His hands moved in a swift motion, effortlessly catching the sword. Energy seemed to flow into him as he swung it around within his hand. The wind seemed to extend his sword with every swing.

The young boy looked like a true martial artist, as his feet danced around while he guided the wind with his sword. His face showed determination, as he seemed to grow in front of the others, giving off a strong aura, not meant for such a young kid

The surrounding people's jaws seemed to drop lower and lower with every swing.

Huang Yang tightly gripped the sword hilt with both hands, before piecing the bricks beneath him.

"I do indeed understand why you fear Huang Yang's talent, as he is the youngest known opening realm, martial artist, having reached the first level at the age of six, yet I want you to help him so that we can all soar together!!", said the patriarch with a white smile.

Praises filled with happiness flooded the courtyard, as they looked at Huang Yang with new eyes. People apologized without hesitation, yet no one saw the devil hiding behind the eyes of Huang Qiang and Huang Long.
