Come Home

Under the evening sky, the buzzing of a city, lights the night. In a high-rise apartment building reside a young man in his early 20s, working in his living room.

*Ring. Ring.*

The sound of his phone breaks him out of his concentration. He set his documents and pen down on the coffee table next to his notes. He then pause the TV drama playing, as he picks up the call.

"Hi! Landon honey. How are you doing?"

"I am doing fine mom. And you?" He walks to the window as he continue to speak to his mother.

"That good dear. And I'm doing good too, thank you for asking." Sounding cheerful as she speaks to her son. Which is understandable because she haven't been able to meet or talk to her son lately. Since he been so busy with work.

"So is there something wrong?" Landon worry because his mother is calling so late in the evening.

"Oooh. Nothing is wrong but I need you to come home tomorrow for the weekend. Okay. We are having a family meeting and party. Everyone is going to be here, so it's important and you have to come." Hearing the information Landon feels distress because he is a major antisocial person, so he doesn't want to go. Don't get Landon wrong he loves he's intermediated family and grandparents, also some other relatives, but there are some people he can't tolerate. So hearing that the whole family is coming that means it's all his relatives from 1st to 4th cousin and family friends.

"What's the special event?" Landon questions how important this reunion is.

"It's about your older brother and his wife. Also the party is going to be on Saturday, that's when everybody will be here. However, I want you to come tomorrow because your grandparents, father, and I want a meeting about something before the special party."

"Okay, sounds weird but if it's so important that We have to have a meeting before the family reunion then I guess so." Landon looks at his reflection through the mirror.

"Good, I'll see you tomorrow! I love you, sweetie!" She made a kiss as they said bye to each other.

"I love you, too. Bye mom." Landon hang up the phone and continue his work.

Landon pick up his document and pen, then place a stack of sticky notes onto the arm of the couch to use, and unpause the TV drama. The drama he is watching is called fallen star, a male pop star that was on top of the music world, but then everything was gone after a scandal broke out. His lover was murdered and he was the prime suspect, because he was the "last person" to see her. The pop star was not the one who killed her, so he goes on a journey to prove his innocence.

Landon is not lagging on his work. He is actually overworking, because he is the main actor of the drama, The pop star role. He is watching the drama and also looking at his script of the drama. He writes in the script and compare his acting on the notes. Though it's overworking because he does not really need to do rookie activities for his acting. The reason is because he is the Country's Film Prince and he been in the entertainment industry since his teen years, which mean 7 years of working as an actor. Nonetheless, he likes to analyze or write about his acting.

When Landon first became an actor, people took notice of him at first sight. His first appearance was a minor role as the rich male lead rebellious brother. In spite of debuting as an actor, Landon at first did not plan to be one. Before acting he thought to just help his older brother with the family business. Yet, how did he become an actor?

Well he was hanging out at the fashion district of the city with his friends. And they were walking pass an outdoor filming site. As they were walking around the film site the director of the film saw Landon walking around. The director cut the filming and chase after Landon to cast him in the film. The director catch up to him and calls out to him.

"Aye kid, with the stripes. Stop right there." Landon stop as he was the one that was wearing stripes, but he turn around to make sure it was him that was being called.

Landon turns around and sees a man with a dress shirt, pants and shoes, also wearing sunglasses. Stopping in front of him.

"You called me?" Landon look at the stranger suspiciously.

"Yes I did call you, I want to ask you a favor." Landon took a step back once he had his say that. And as he took the step back the director was confuse as why he did that. Did he said something weird? So the director replayed his words back and realize want he said sounded wrong. Making him bust out laugh.

"No. Ahaha. No. Whatever you are thing is wrong. Ahaha. I am a director of a movie." He takes out his card and give it to Landon. "As you can see I saw you walking as we were filming and I think you are perfect this one role in my movie." He told Landon looking eye to eye with him.

"I see, what kinda of movie are you filming?" Landon ask as he was playing with the name card.

"It's about the cruel world of money making. And you are going to play the main lead rebellious brother." Landon nods his head as the director tell him about the movies plot. Though he doesn't say anything about joining or not.

"The movies sounds like it will be a hit but I don't think I can be in your movie." Landon gives the name card back has he turns the man down.

"Why? Please! Tell me why?" The director hold on to Landon hand begging for an explanation.

"Well I never acted before, so I don't want to hurt your movie. Also I am a high school student. Also I am busy interning at my family company. Now I have to go now. Goodbye and have a nice day." Landon finally was able to free his hand as he walk away.

"I REALLY WANT YOU TO BE IN MY MOVIE!! THIS IS NOT THE LAST TIME YOU WILL SEE ME." The director promise. So because of the director pride as a creator was hurt. He is going to fix by getting Landon to star in his movie. He is a top director for a reason. No one has rejected to be in his movie since he was in his early years of filming.

One the director got back to set he called his assistant to look into Landon. So he know places to find him.

So the next day the director gave a week break to the film crew. And went to Landon school, he waited by his school gates.

"Hey have you thought of my offer? I really think you are perfect for the supporting role of the main male lead brother." Landon tells him no polite and went in to we're his driver was waiting for him.

Once the director saw this action, he thought that Landon was even more perfect for the role. Landon was already a young master so playing one should be easy for him. So he followed Landon to his home but was stop at the gate entrance to his family estate.

Then he continue to visit Landon at his school and hang outs for almost the whole week. Until the last day of his break before going back filming.

In front of the school gate, Landon did not see the director. He felt relief but also a little awkward, because he got so use to the director stalking him that he felt he was missing something. Though he walk to the car and his driver opens the door as he gets in.

Before the driver close the door, he hands Landon a note.

"What's this?" Landon ask as he grabs the note.

"It's from that film director." Landon nods and tells the driver to start driving.

Landon reads the note: Dear Mr. Lee, with the many time you have rejected, I still want you to be part of my film. If you have any worries I can help you to solve them. If you are concerned about hurting the movie, I'll help and teach you how to act. Please think about it, I have a fly to C city at 10pm. Though I will be at Kang Hotel, room 2407; until then.

Landon ponder and ponder for a while that it was night fall. So Landon went to his brother and ask him something. Once he got answer he wanted, Landon called for a driver and went to the airport.

9:00pm At LF Airport

The director still have not checked in for his flight. He have hope that Landon will come see him for sure. His gut feeling was never wrong. So he waits and waits.

Once it got to 9:50, he decided to check in but didn't go through security yet. He just watch the airport entrance, and he sees a person running. Then stop at the doors catching their breath, and the causal walk through the doors like they were not in a rush. The director laugh because he knew who the silly person was. As Landon gets closer to the director, he stops. He hands the director a contract. The director smiles and thank him.

"I'll see you, next weekend then. Since you are a high schooler you can only film weekends. And once I land I'll email about the contract and the film schedule. Bye kid." Landon just smiled and nodded at the director as he goes to his flight. And Landon went home.

Next weekend: Landon first shoot

Landon arrived at the film site early when the crew was getting everything ready for the set. Landon went to fine the director. He found him, and so the director gave him homework to do. Which was to rehearse his lines with the male lead, take notes of the film site, the actors, and learn from the actors.

So Landon did just that, as his first day on site came to an end his script was full on notes on the front. And the director met Landon before they left and told him to watch similar Dramas or Movies. Analyze them and the actors. Also try to act out those movies, but add in his own style.

And so after 7 years, Landon continues to write notes in his script, though as time past by, he treats it as a diary for every film his in. Writing down how he supports other actors, what he did that day for a scene, or how he can improve the scene.

As Landon daydream about his past, he decide that it was time to go to bed. So he can get up early and go home.
