29 The Return of a sevant

GENERAL KANG'S POV

My date with Ayan was even better than I expected. I would have never thought she would be so good at cooking. Though I was offended she would think I would have been cruel to her servant, I was even more surprised by the fact she would offer to get in trouble in her stead. This new Ayan; who was selfless, kind, and caring, I really liked her. Her actions always left me in awe. The more time I spent with her the more I fell for her.

Then when she suddenly got shy when I took off my robe so she could mend it I thought it was a little strange. As she mended the robe she continued not to look at me. Then it occurred to me that perhaps she was nervous since we hadn't done 'it' in a while. She looked like she was holding herself back. She wasn't trying to force me into it like she used to in the past nor was she mentioning anything about it. It must have been taking a massive amount of self-control for her not to.

I felt my heart melt. Ayan, you're really making an effort, aren't you? I thought to myself. However, I wouldn't make her suffer any longer. I would give her what she wanted.

I first confessed my feelings to her. I didn't want to see her walk on eggshells anymore. I wanted her to know that after today I was ready to lift her punishment.

Then I would make my moves in her. I knew exactly where to touch her, where all her weak spots were. I was going to reward her for how well-behaved she was being and how she'd catered to me for the night. She'd more than earned it.

But first I wanted to tease her a little bit. After she'd pricked her finger I thought I would have a little fun. Her reaction to my playfulness was making her embarrassed. She must have been overwhelmed as she couldn't believe it was happening.

"Would you stop teasing me!" She yelled at me, her face going tomato red after I'd made her touch my chest. I was honestly having a good laugh. Though I was messing around with her. I was really going to be gentle with her. I wasn't going to add to how overwhelmed she already felt.

Just when I was about to get serious with her we were suddenly interrupted when someone came storming into the room. I looked towards the door and saw it was an estate servant. Why was a servant coming into a room where the Lord was without permission? I was going to murder him. If he had come in a little bit later imagine the state he would have seen us in.

"Lady Laika is pregnant!" He announced.

I froze on the spot, my eyebrows shot up in shock unable to believe what the servant had just said. "What?"

Pregnant? Laika was pregnant?

I definitely hadn't expected or seen that coming. Granted I did spend the most time with Laika but I still couldn't believe it. I...I had to go see her. I got up from the floor and put on my robe. I felt horrible abruptly leaving Ayan like this but I had to attend to something like this. I said my goodbyes and headed out.

I went straight to Laika's home. I felt numb as I walked, I had so many thoughts going through my mind. Perhaps it was the timing of it all. It was the first time I was hearing that she was sick. I walked into her home the house servants bowed their heads in respect as I passed by. I opened the door to her room and entered. There lying on the bed ahead was Laika. She looked up when she heard me come in and slowly sat up on her bed.

"My lord?" She said.

"How are you feeling?" I asked as I walked towards her.

"A little better. I just have cramps and I'm feeling a little nauseous. It's usually worse in the mornings."

She looked slightly pale and tired. I knelt down beside her bed taking her hands in mine. "Why didn't you tell me you were feeling sick? The servant told me you've been feeling like this for the last couple of days."

"It wasn't too bad a few days ago and if I'd told you I was sick maybe you wouldn't have come to see me." She said to me.

A tired sigh escaped my mouth "You don't have to push yourself too much." I told her. "And especially now that you're pregnant..."

Her large brown eyes gave me a tender look. "I'm pregnant." She stated almost as if she was affirming it to herself. She then looked down at our hands in contemplation. "I can't believe it. I'm scared but I'm also excited." She said as tears began to stream down her face.

" I said as I moved closer and placed my arms around her shoulders hugging her. "I'm so happy, beyond thrilled. I'm just in shock, I'm still processing it all, but I'm really happy." I told her.

She hugged me back and we stayed like that for a little while. "You don't have to worry because I'm going to be with you every step of the way."

"You were with Ayan before you came here right?" She asked into my shoulder. "I'm glad I ruined your time with her," Laika said cheerfully to me.

I shook my head in disapproval. "Don't be mean," I told her.

I felt bad about the state I'd left Ayan in. Unsatisfied. I didn't mean to seduce her and then just leave her like that. She must have been so frustrated.

I let it a sigh would have thought it would be stressful to have multiple wives? They all constantly needed attention. In the beginning I was very much excited at the prospect of having a harem because the idea of having multiple beautiful women fawning and catering to you seemed like a dream come true.

I stayed with Laika for the night wanting to support her after such a revelation. I later talked to the physician later about Laika's pregnancy. He told me all the precautions we should take to ensure she has a safe and healthy pregnancy journey. She was still in the early stages so she had to be cautious of how she did things.

I was nervous, this was my first child. I was going to be a father. The thought made me excited for what the future had in store. Before I'd told Ayan that if she'd been the way she was now all along I would have made her pregnant by now. Whether it was her or Laika I didn't mind. I knew Laika was going to be a good mother either way.

In the following days, I had Laika stay by my side. I still had work to do so I had her stay in the main house with me so it would be easier to keep an eye on her. I made sure she had everything she needed I didn't want her to strain herself too much. I had maids checking in on her at every moment. This was my first child so I wanted everything to be perfect. It was to the point that Laika began to complain. "My Lord, I'm so happy to have you dote on me but I'm pregnant, not handicapped."

Perhaps, I was doing too much but I couldn't help it. The thought of being a parent was so exciting. I wouldn't be able to see Ayan for a while as I dealt with Laika but I hadn't forgotten about her. I gave the order to have her moved out of the punishement house and go back to her previous house.

I was also making arrangements to send official letters to her family to announce her pregnancy. However, I couldn't send them out yet as she was still in the early stages of her pregnancy.

"My Lord you received a letter from the imperial army. You are expected to conduct your usual inspections."

AYAN'S POV

The following morning when I woke up and I went outside and was disappointed at the fact I didn't have my little farm garden. It had become a habit to just look at it or attend to it. All this new garden had was neatly maintained grass and rose bushes. Though it was beautiful to look at, I missed seeing my vegetables.

"My lady your breakfast is ready." Kaylee told me from the front door.

She came to stand next to me looking at what I was looking at. "Don't tell me you miss that garden of yours?" She asked reading my mind.

I didn't respond just smiled at her.

"My lady don't think about that old house, you should be happy that the Lord is no longer furious with you and have been moved back to your old home. Plus it's more spacious and grand."

" I know." I responded.

"Now come let's go inside and you can eat." She said turned to go back inside the house.

"Alright," I finally gave in following behind her into .

Then Kaylee suddenly turned to face me.

"Oh my lady I forgot to tell you since you're back in the normal harem wife homes you'll need more servants so later today your new assigned servants will come to serve you ."

Oh right, I realized. "That's fine." I responded. I didn't think much of it however, if I felt they didn't want to serve me I would let them go like I did last and find another servant or something. Then later on in the day as the new servants that had been assigned to me rolled into my front garden. I took in a good view of all the faces then one face stuck out to me the most.

A familiar young woman with a scar on her face. Teeka? What was she doing amongst my new servants wasn't she currently serving Samira?
