11 Suspicions

RINA'S POV

"Alright ladies, lets begin our usual meeting." Laika said to us as she handed us sheets of paper. "The chefs have prepared prepared us so please help yourself." The four of us sat round at the table in the Gazebo for our weekly discussions of our duties.

"Samira what's the progress with the servants?"

"I've had interviews with a few applications to replace the servants who were fired after the theft incident but other than that no other updates. All the other servants are working well. Everything else." She told her.

Samira was the one in charge of all the servants estate. She helped with the assignment of each of their tasks in terms and worked to resolve any issues amongst them. She was almost the human resources for them.

"And Rina can you adjust the menu choices in the kitchen? The general's assisstant complained we're going over budget."

Whilst I was responsible for the menu choices in the kitchen.

Laika and Samira were in charge of the budgeting and finances of the estate. Organizing everyones' salaries including the allowances that were given to us wives. So they had the most important role.

Laika was annoying as she always made herself the leader during our meetings. In her mind she was already the wife to give the General his first child and be in charge of the main house. That pissed me off even though I knew it was most likely going to be the case. I mean we all felt that way about Ayan before, but one couldn't deny that Laika she was a lot likable than Ayan who constantly tried to appear like she was better than everyone else.

Laika had a very responsible air about her, she had a way making people interested in her and wanting to listen to her. She had a beautiful feminine face with strong cheek bones, thick lips and a sharp nose. Her bronze skin literally glowed and she had a petite but very attractive figure. Her curves weren't as exaggerated as Ayans' but it was still a nice figure none-the-less.

"Is that Ayan?" Maris then suddenely pointed out.

We all turned to look int the direction she was pointing. Ayan froze from where she stood in the gardens. She appeared to be taking a walk with her servant. What was she doing here? Hopefully she wasn't going to cause us trouble. All four us stared her down as we waited to see what she would do. Surprisingly, all she did bow her head before turning away to leave. We were stunned by her

Laika was the first to speak. "Mmm...." she started with an uninsterested tone. "She's been uncharacteristically quiet lately. Today's the day she was released from her confinement correct?" She asked as she instintively touched the arm that had been injured by her but was now healed.

"Yes it is, For a moment I thought she'd come to pick a fight with us." Maris commented.

"Yes, she also hasn't been demanding to see the General."

" She probably knows what will happen if she does. She has to be cautious now isn't it?"

" That woman actually thinks? Who knew? "

I guess I'm not the only one who picked up on Ayans' strange behavior lately. I hadn't heard complain once and it was her first day free and she was just moving around the estate?

Whilst I wanted focus on Ayan and getting my revenge on her I had more important things to focus on. Like how I was going to spend more time with the General.

We finished off our meeting and because it was the evening by then we went straight to have dinner with the General.

We were seated at a large table. The Lord was at the head of the table, sitting cross legged on the sitting cushions placed for him. The rest of us knelt on the cushions on either side of the table near him. The ones who sat closest to the General were Maris and Laika, his most favored wives.

So far throughout the dinner Maris and Laika had been talking to to him. They were talking about something that happened at a party the three of them had gone to. It wasn't something Samira and I knew about. Even so Samira found away to add in a few words as well and get a response from the general. Everyone else was getting attention from the Lord. I couldn't find the right time to say something and turn his attention to me as well, neither did he glance at me on his own. It was always like this. Ever since we married I rarely spent time with me like he did the other wives. I could count on my fingers the amount of times he'd spent the night with me or just asked to see me alone.

My arms shook in frustration, how could I get the Lord to look at me as well? I thought that with Ayan in confinement and with one less wife to deal with he would finally notice me but no, it was still the same.

In Looks like Ayan has been to have dinner with us tommorow.

"Ayan has been so quiet ever since she got out of her confinement, she hasn't done anything and now look the General's invited her to have dinner with us tommorow." I told Samira paranoid. "She's up to something to get the Lord's attention back on her."

Whether or not Ayan is up to something to get the General's attention it doesn't matter. We should worry about ourselves and how we're going to get him to like us. I don't want want to lose to Laika and Maris either. " She said as focosed on her hair." There's no way she can make a come back after everything she's done thus far. She's in the smallest house, has no duties assigned to her. People don't change over night Rina. She's bound to show her true colors soon no matter how quiet she tries to be."

As I looked her I realized perhaps she was right. If she made one more mistake she would be thrown out the harem for sure. Still I had a surprise for her tommorow at dinner. I smiled evily.

GENERAL KANG'S POV

I woke up the next morning feeling surprisingly tired. As I sat up on the bed I looked to my side to find Laika at my side. She was still sleeping soundly, smiling I brought my hand to caress her face. That woman always surprised me when I went to bed with her. She was always so calm and soft spoken outside but became a wild cat during 'that'.

I got up from the bed and began to put on my clothes which were sprawled all over the floor. As I put on my shirt I noticed my arm hurt, inspecting it I saw I scratch marks. Clearly they were caused by nails. I looked back at Laika, honestly that woman.

Once I was done dressing up I made to leave the room. I had slept over at Laika's house for the night and was planning to make my way back to the main house to start work.

"You're leaving already?" I then heard a voice say from behind me.

"You're already awake?" I asked Laika as I turned back to look at her. "Was I making noise?"

"No," she said as she sat up. "The bed suddenly felt cold since you left, that's what woke me up."

"Sorry about that I have to go to work thats why." I explained to her.

"Can't you stay a little longer?" she begged as she pouted her lips at me.

"Now don't make that face you know I have to go."

"I heard you invited Ayan to tonight's dinner."

"Ah, yes." I responded as I noticed a troubled expression on her be. "Does that bother you?"

"Yes, it does" She stated "She hurt me."

I went towards her and hugged her. "Don't worry I will protect you if anything happens. She'll be seated far from you and you'll be right next to me."

"I know her confinement is over, but all her other punishements still stand, so why are you inviting her to dinner?"

"She is still on punishment but there's something I want to see that's all." I reassured her as I hugged her deeply. She hugged me back but I could tell she wasn't satisfied with the situation. Probably just a little jealous which I found funny.

Ayan has been so quiet lately I wanted to know why. She hadn't come to the mainhouse once to demand to see when thats all she ever did before. Of course this may be just another tactic of hers, a change in strategy to get my attention but I had to be sure.

My secretary Kalil told me Ayan had been cooking for herself and that she had found a new hobby in gardening. I almost fainted when he told me that, there was no way. She knew how to cook? A noble lady... What on earth was going on with Ayan? Had she lost her mind.

I have to go back to the palace in the next few days before that I want to see. It was strange... It had been quiet.
