A Concerning Development (Unedited)

LAIKA'S POV

As time went by I only grew more and more worried. The General was still in a sour mood and it didn't seem to be improving.

I was worried after that time when he terrorized me when he'd assumed I'd known about Ayan being taken to the palace beforehand that he would continue to terrorize me or the rest of the wives. Luckily he didn't.

The wives and I didn't see him for a while. He rarely left the house and he didn't call any of us to him. When he finally called for us to have dinner with us we were taken aback. We weren't sure what to expect.

"Is the General alright? He suddenly called us for dinner, " Maris said as we sat down at the Gazebo in the estate gardens meeting for our weekly duty discussions.

"Maybe he's finally getting over the trial situation," Samira answered.

"I doubt it. From the servants that have seen him, he's still as grumpy and terrifying as ever." Maris argued.
