5 The Fiction Summoner: Chapter 5

Alex noticed that Gandalf not only had 2 more Loyalty but also now has a [Combat Strength Rating] of C.

Because Gandalf has a skill that requires a Sword he couldn't use his Sword skill before and now that he has Sword, he is many times stronger in melee combat. Even if the sword is not of good quality.

Now Gandalf only needs a wand that can strengthen his magic.

Gandalf looked at Alex as he said, "I should go now."

Alex showed a serious expression. "Ok, but please don't go too deep into the forest, and be careful. We don't know what's in this forest."

Gandalf pats his beard as he says, "Haha, don't worry. I doubt I'll meet any strong creatures on day one. Though that's just a guess."

Alex had this suspicion too.

So far, the competition has been relatively fair, so that he doubts that extremely strong creatures are near his Territory.

Alex looked serious when he said, "You can never be too sure."

Gandalf nodded in silence and started to leave the room.

Alex followed Gandalf to the door and watched as Gandalf entered the forest to the north.

Although he felt a little uncomfortable with the situation, he knew there was nothing he could do about it.

Alex suppressed this feeling and went back to his house.

with the thought 'It is better to work to improve one's situation than to grieve over it.' Alex started looking for more information.

He also looked at the prices of various items that looked very useful.

In the [shop] you could not only buy a basic daily ration of food and water for 3 gold but also food that can improve the attributes after a long consumption. Unfortunately, each of these items was extremely expensive and could only improve attributes under a certain rating.

Alex didn't have the luxury or the money to do it.

Aside from that, Alex felt that any item he bought that didn't come from his skill is a huge waste of gold. except if this item is cheap, very useful, and could not be found in his skill.

[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 3 experiences and 1 Gold.]

Alex suddenly saw this text appear at the edge of his eyes, along with a slight sound.

Although the information from the Text is very vague, it was able to confirm a few things.

1: If one of his Summon kills a creature, he also gets experience and even the gold directly.

2: It seems that the names for these creatures may come from animals, mythical creatures, and objects that were known on earth.

Point 2 does not mean that they look exactly like this, but only that they have enough similarity so that the participant can tell from the name alone what it looks like.

Alex even had a hunch that this is the case for all other races in this "game" as well. or something similar so that they can roughly estimate what this creature can do and looks like with only their names.

As Alex thought about it, he heard the same sound as a few seconds ago.

[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 3 experiences and 1 Gold.]

and again after 3 seconds.

[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 4 experiences and 2 Gold.]

Then for the next 10 seconds, Alex heard no more sound.

'hmm, so there were three? and with the speed of this fight, these creatures shouldn't be particularly strong.'

Alex stopped thinking about it and he opened the [Regional Chat].

In this chat, the wall of text doesn't move as fast as in the world chat, but still too fast to read normally. you have to stop it to read it.

Because only humans are in the [Auction house], [Shop], and [World Chat], Alex wasn't surprised that the [Regional Chat] was the same.

Although Alex was sure that the other races also have a [Shop] but with different items than the Humans have. Alex wasn't so arrogant as to think the human race was special.

[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 3 experiences and 1 Gold.]

[Large Acid Toad was killed. The User has gained 3 experiences and 1 Gold.]

'Gandalf works really hard.'

Alex opened again the [Regional Chat] and checked for more information.

After less than 5 minutes he found an interesting thing. It seems that the status of creatures from outside the territory cannot be viewed. It only took so long because Alex waited until he heard this statement from several people to be able to confirm it with relative certainty.

in the chat, even one person recommended the skill [Examine] for it.

Alex opened the [Shop] and search for the skill [Examine].

-----

[Skill: Examine]

[Rating: C-]

[Shop price: 20,000 gold]

[Introduction: Allows the user to see the complete status of creatures in sight. This Skill cannot be used on creatures with a rating above A+.]

-----

Alex gave an annoyed expression when he saw the price. Why does someone recommend such a skill on the first day?

is this person bored in this survival game?

Alex stopped thinking about this person.

When he wanted to close the shop, he saw that 4 other skills were displayed when searching for the word "Examine".

The 3 other skills were also too expensive for Alex, but Alex found 1 of these skills very useful.

-----

[Skill: Defective Examine]

[Rating: E-]

[Shop price: 250 gold]

[Introduction: Allows the user to see the incomplete status of creatures in sight. Skill and equipment information cannot be seen. This skill also cannot be used on creatures with a rating above A+.]

-----

This is almost exactly the same skill except you can't view the skill and equipment information.

Although this skill is many times worse than the other skill, it is also almost 100 times cheaper.

With this skill, Alex can still look at the Attributes, [Introduction], and even the [Combat Strength Rating].

Especially with the [Combat Strength Rating] information, Alex can estimate the "unknown" strength of the skills and equipment relatively well.

Alex can't tell how it's attacking, but he can roughly estimate the creature's strength.

For 250 gold, this skill is really useful for avoiding dangerous creatures.
