17 The Fiction Summoner: Chapter 17

That was the strongest summon Alex had ever seen in the shop. Especially the potential of this Summon is absolutely ridiculous.

Jörmungandr from Norse mythology is so ridiculously long that Alex can't even imagine summoning him.

Even if the Norse mythology world is smaller than Alex's world, a fully grown Jörmungandr should be ridiculously large. So big that Alex can't even imagine it.

Alex stopped fantasizing and looked at the prize again.

[Shop price: 19 trillion gold]

[Price: 190 million gold]

That was so much money that Alex doesn't even try to think about how long it would take him to raise that much money.

Alex looked at the next items and stopped thinking about that ridiculously strong summon.

At the same time, Alex got a message that his item was sold for 6900 gold.

an income of 6200 gold was almost as much as Alex had earned yesterday.

Alex now had almost 13000 gold coins and can now be described as very rich.

But even with the extra money, most of the items were too expensive for Alex or useless items.

[B Materials- Black metal, the original price is 310,000, the current price is 31,000...] ( Valheim )

[A- Rating Building- Whitebeard Pirates Base: Complete, the original price is 15 Million, the current price is 150,000...] (One Piece)

Alex would buy the black metal material immediately if it wasn't too expensive.

He could sell it to a rich player for a fortune after a few days.

Although he thinks it's extremely unlikely that even 1 human already has 300,000 gold coins, after a few days it shouldn't be impossible for a few to have that much gold.

Alex didn't want to use a B-rating material for his awakened skill so he would definitely sell it.

The problem is that Alex would be reluctant to use his money in such a way. It is very ineffective to save money at the beginning of this competition. even if it's just a couple of days.

Alex stopped thinking about it and looked at the rest of the discounts.

The rest was F-Equipment, Spell, etc which was completely useless to Alex.

Alex didn't understand why there are so many F-rating items in these 100 items.

Unfortunately, only two other items weren't completely useless

Alex showed an extremely happy expression upon seeing this weapon in real life.

Dark Souls is Alex's all-time favorite Game and he's played through it more than 20 times so that he immediately recognized what weapon it is.

The Black Knight Greatsword is not his favorite weapon, but it is also a weapon that he has used a few times in his runs. [AN: Black Knight Greataxe is my favorite]

As he thought about it, he realized that only items or characters that he recognized by their looks and names would appear in his [Fiction Discount Shop].

The better he knows a fiction story, the more items and summons will likely appear from that story.

Alex felt that this theory isn't 100% confirmed but does make sense when he thinks about what item he got and was very likely true.

He didn't waste any more time and he bought the 6 weapons.

Alex first stored the 5 Gladius in his house. he had no plan to sell them.

400 gold is not a small sum but not really helpful in Alex's situation either.

Then, Alex looked at the huge weapon with an impressed expression.

This Greatsword was larger than Alex and almost 2 meters long. Alex was already above average height at 190 centimeters and this sword was even taller than him.

Alex tried to pick it up and he found he could actually pick it up.

It was extremely heavy and Alex would have trouble using it effectively, but he was able to lift it. If he were a bit stronger he would probably be able to carry and use it effectively.

'I shouldn't be far from a strength rating of C-. maybe a few levels and I could use this weapon effectively.' Even though Alex could carry this weapon, it is really an awkward weapon to carry and he wouldn't like to go into the woods like that.

Alex had no inventory and had to carry everything himself.

It frankly was a cumbersome weapon. Even if it's truly a powerful weapon, it's not easy to use.

Alex now had more than 12000 gold coins and no item he wanted to buy with that gold.

B Materials- Black metal for 31000 gold coins was the next best item and Alex doubted he would make that much money today.

Alex looked in the normal shop if he could find something cheap and useful. unfortunately, his [Fiction Discount Shop] was much more effective and cheaper for most things.

Only [Population Summon] was a really good choice. These have not yet appeared in the [Fiction Discount Shop] and can even earn Alex a lot of money.

A Skinner would allow Alex to collect materials from slain creatures and sell them for gold.

He really felt he should buy a [Population Summon] and the best way to buy it, according to Alex, is with the random buy options.

[For 10,000 gold you get a random [population summon] between the F- and the B+ rating]

[AN: I'll decide at random what the MC gets.]

Alex took the option which is mathematically the most effective even if it's relatively risky.

If he was unlucky and got an F (F-,F,F+) or E (E-,E,E+) [population summon] he basically threw away 10,000 gold. And that's not a small chance that this actually happens (40%).

But if he gets a B (B-,B,B+) [population summon] he basically bought a summon worth at least 100,000 for only 10,000 gold.

Even if Alex was unlucky and lost the 10,000 gold he'll just get a mediocre D-rating Population Summon with his 2000 gold.
